Hiroki offers an omakase experience in the Philadelphia
Hiroki offers an omakase experience in the Philadelphia neighborhood of fish town. If you don't know what omakase is it is basically trusting the chef with the menu and your order. There isn't anything but you are taken on a 12+ course dinn

Amazing experience! Kind of confusing on what the options are available, for both food and drinks. There are a lot of sake options, including a beverage pairing for omakase (~7 drinks for the course). Omakase itself was fantastic. The server was n
An experience to remember.
Omakase at Hiroki was hands down my favorite sushi experience. Everything was perfect. We were greeted by an exceptional wait staff. Throughout the meal they would provide thoughtful details about what we were eating, where it was from, and the che

The front door should be all the enticement you need, but once inside Omakase at the counter is the reason to come, come back, and spread the gospel: This place is truly great.
The vibe of this place has always been awesome.
The decor and service is what I want and expect from a traditional style omakase seating experience. Hiroki was definitely incredible when it opened back in 2019. I have been a few times since then, and each time seems to have gotten slightly worse i
The food was disappointing.
The flavor was lackluster. (We arrived at 8:50pm for a party of 3 and waited 15-20 to be seated for a 9pm reservation which is fine.) But, they told us as soon as we sat down for a 9pm reservation, that we must get the order in immediately before th

I had high hopes for this place, but the final opinion was "meh", with a healthy dose of annoyance. The food was ok. The space is clean and modern. If everything was perfect, maybe I wouldn't have minded the 30% service charge plus t
So disappointing
We sat at the sushi counter. The sushi chef was very pleasant and the food was, in general, good - the onsen egg and the soup were standouts. The availability of the wines-by-the-glass(vs the list) was terrible. Hardly anything was available with the
First time back this year and left disappointed and hungry.
Subpar ingredients that did not taste fresh or nuanced. Zensai was bland. Ginger was old and soggy. Waygu was overcooked and tough. Sushi came apart from rice to what amounted to a crumbly sushi-a first. Fruit tart had strawberry that was overripe. N
This is the worst omakase I have ever had.
I was visiting Philadelphia. In NYC there are omakase less then 1/2 the price that are way better. One of the chef was amateur, the rice was falling apart. The scallop he made for me was way different than the other chefs. The pic with one piece was

Good. Server explains that this is "not a tip" and that additional gratuity is expected. Not good.

Dined there last week.
It was the 5th and absolute last time I will go there. Don't get me wrong, the food was amazing. Then the bill came. Prices were as they were on the website and consistent with what we paid the previous 4 times. The bill comes. The server points
This place is suck a scam.
They charged me extra $42~. For what? 20% tip is already included. Please don't waste your time and your money here. Don't book here so they can't get your card information

I completely agree with Benjamin P’s review. My husband and I had reservations to go for his birthday in April 2020, but had to cancel due to covid. I follow the Philly restaurant scene very closely, and although I never heard much about Hiroki, we

Wow. A must-try experience in Philadelphia for any fan of excellent Japanese cuisine. I first heard of Hiroki from a co-worker who loved it so much, she's been multiple times. We snagged reservations in between my husband accepting a new job and grad

The other reviews are fake or "i went here so it must be good" bias
Worst value of anywhere you can eat in the region. If you never get to eat omakase or are obsessed with it/want to try it and/or want a fun night out in philly and aren't worried about value, go here, fine. But don't get confused between omakase and

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Hiroki Philadelphia at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Hiroki Philadelphia page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* FluffyStar64, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $200 bid.
* FluffyStar64 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to FluffyStar64 for any questions Peter may have as FluffyStar64 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* FluffyStar64 now uses their connections at Hiroki Philadelphia to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If FluffyStar64 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, FluffyStar64 receives the $200 reward which is credited to FluffyStar64's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Hiroki Philadelphia!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
