Din Tai Fung Seattle Reviews from The Last Year
Still the BEST Soup dumplings in North America
Still has the best Soup Dumplings we have found, the Black Truffles. Cucumber salad rocks! Haven't found a bad dish This is a must visit location. Pictured, Pit stickers
Everyone always talks about Din Tai Fung and hypes it up.
I finally got to try it and was kind of bewildered by people's comments. I was able to try their Xiao Long Bao, and they were really small, so that was sad to see. I also didn't get a lot of flavor from the broth itself. The two highlights of the meal were the cucumber salad and green beans. They were made really well, but I feel like you can find those options elsewhere. Feels somewhat overpriced for what you get. The restaurant itself looked stunning. I loved the decor and setup of the place. I do think they try to make it seem very "upscale". We were the first ones there, so the restaurant was empty. We didn't make a reservation and the hostess still made us wait a bit even though all the tables were empty.
Luke is amazing! Gave us excellent choices and had
Luke is amazing! Gave us excellent choices and had wonderful taste. Recommended the Lao buns, cucumber salad, and green tea milk tea. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu
Loved this place! It is within a mall, but it was packed!
Loved this place! It is within a mall, but it was packed! It is so beautiful in there and I loved that the bathrooms were checked every 15 minutes. Since it was our first time there, our waitress explained the whole menu to us and also taught us how to eat our xiao long bao! No judgment that we hadn't eaten there before! We had the delicious string beans with garlic and the chicken xiao long bao.
Good downtown Chinese
Heard from a friend she always goes here when in Seattle just for the dumplings. They were good but we liked the soups and fried noodles better. Portions were generous and the service was exceptional.
I am no stranger to Asian food, but we don't have din tai
I am no stranger to Asian food, but we don't have din tai Fung in Atlanta, and I was too tired to eat there when I was in Singapore last year. So this was finally my chance! Staying at the Westin just a few blocks away, I ventured into this weird shopping mall type building (had to find the entrance) and went to the 4th floor around 3 PM PST (dinner time on the east coast). I was by myself, so sat at the bar, where Jessica and Tina, the bartenders, were so nice and helpful that I couldn't help but over-order in order to try some of their recommendations. The soup dumplings were definitely unique. They were served steaming hot and the skin was super thin. I'm used to pork instead of chicken, so to me the broth lacked as much favor, but I still quickly finished all 10 dumplings. I also loved and ate the cucumbers and wood ear mushrooms (but I'm a big fan of that pickled/vinegar taste, so if that's not your thing you won't like these). I also ordered the green beans which were fresh and delicious (though salty), and based on Jessica's recommendation, got the rice cakes - which were unique and really tasty! I also had the yuzu margarita, which tasted just as the name suggested. Overall, a great mid-day snack on the west coast (dinner on the east).
Great place to dine .
Has bar seating as well where you can spend time and have food as well if you don't find a table
We lucked out and got a bar table without a reservation.
The service was incredibly efficient and the food was even more incredible. I was worried the hype around this restaurant was exaggerated, but it really was amazing. We loved everything we tried. If you're thinking about eating here... JUST DO IT
You get what you pay for at Din Tai Fung.
The food and service is great, the ambiance is really nice throughout, and the portions are family-style size. With that said, the bill can add up pretty quickly, especially if you want to try a variety of items. I appreciate how mindful they are of allergies every time we dine-in, because not many restaurants are like that. Only downside is how loud it can get with so many people dining.
I'm confused by DTF because this the second location I've
I'm confused by DTF because this the second location I've been to where the soup dumpling is not served hot. I'm not sure if a customer was previously burnt and complained... but the comfortably plop a dumpling in my mouth and know that it's warm is unsatisfying. It wasn't even a busy morning.
This restaurant was incredible.
Our group had 3 kinds of dumplings, potstickers, beef soup, veggie wonton soup, vermicelli and a few other dishes. All were extremely flavorful; a culinary delight. The service was fast and the servers were friendly. Ambience was comfortable with interesting decor and a good restaurant layout. Overall, a memorable and satisfying experience. Will be going back again for more. You don't want to miss this great dining experience!
Din Tai Fung lives up to the hype -- everything I had was
Din Tai Fung lives up to the hype -- everything I had was delicious. It's a big restaurant but it was packed. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. I got the lychee cocktail which was on the stronger side but still good. The cucumber salad was refreshing. I noticed that all of the tables around us had ordered the green beans so I put an order in and WOW I'm telling you these were the best green beans I've had. The garlic flavor was perfectly subtle and the beans were so delightfully crunchy, but magically even the beans at the bottom of the bowl stayed crunchy throughout the meal. If you don't get the beans that's actually a crime -- they're so good I googled dupe recipes after the meal. The spicy wontons were flavorful and not too spicy, but I'd rather save the stomach space for the Xiao Long Bao. The timing of the soup dumplings is just right where you can plop them into your mouth immediately when it hits the table without burning yourself. These were so good that we ordered another round before we had finished the first. For dessert I got the chocolate mochi Xiao Long Bao. The filling tasted like melted Nutella which was good, but the mochi wrapper was a little too chewy for how runny the filling was.
Racist Restaurant!
DO NOT GO HERE. Just experienced what can only be described as "racist" behavoir by the hostess. Not sure if its their company policy.... Our group of 10 people (Asian) tried to go here on a Thursday morning at 11:00 am. There were only a few people sitting at the "Bar" area. In the restaurant, it was wide open. Hostess said give me 2 minutes to get your table ready. 15 minutes goes by...nothing has happened. We go up and ask what's going on...hostess says..oh the table is still being set up. We wait on the side....another large group of "white" people (8-10 people) goes up to the hostess and asks for a table....they get led inside right then and there.... Is there any excuse for this? Absolutely not...we have now been standing there for 20 minutes...and expect the hostess to come back and seat us...which does NOT happen. We tell the hostess never mind, cancel our table...to which she says. Sure.... Nothing else. We then give up and decide to eat at Pikes Chowder next door...which happened to be a great choice! Once again....DO NOT GO HERE and support this type of behavoir and actions. I will be posting this wherever I can to let everyone know!
Wow! Wow! Wow! Love This Place!
We are huge fans of this location. Been to the one in Vegas and it is not as good. This is a popular place, so make reservations or you'll wait for a long time. This is on the top floor of Pacific Place on Pine Street. The service is good, but the food will blow your mind. This place has a family atmosphere and the food comes out as the kitchen prepares it, so not all dishes come out at once. What to order? Close your eyes and point to the menu and you wont go wrong. All is great here. Excellent place for families...
Crab and pork dumplings
The crab and pork soup dumplings were delicious. The server explained the menu and shared some options that were popular.
Do NOT eat here
We had Din Tai Fung Marketplace at the Climate Pledge Arena 2 days ago. What an Absolute disappointment! The rice is tasteless, the ribs taste like you poured a bottle of maple syrup over them and the chicken was old, dry and disgusting! Nothing more than a complete waste of money! They shouldn't even be allowed to operate in the Climate Pledge Arena
An Unexpected Gem! In a mall food court?? Wow!
This was so yummy, we don't have this kind of restaurant in Michigan that I know of. I love soup dumplings...I was there early in the evening and there were a lot of people getting seated. I sat in the bar area and it was very pleasant. The service was good, friendly and helpful. The server guided me in how to order and how to use the condiments...Everything was fresh and tasty, if I lived in town I would eat there a lot. It struck me as a super fun chain, (not sure if it is) with a fun unique theme and menu. You could see the cooks making the dumplings behind a window it was just so fun. I'm sure there are much finer places but this was in a small food court style space in a mall, near a movie theater, Totally unexpected and stylish and tasty. I would highly recommend.
Best xiao long bao
This Taiwanese restaurant chain serves the best xiao long bao in the area place is extremely busy but you don't feel crowded service is good
Family dinner
Delicious food! Great service. Very juicy soup dumplings. We had the fried rice and spicy wontons as well-delicious! Highly recommend.
Great Asian food in Seattle
We were not really familiar with this type of food. Waiter was very helpful with recommendations. I heard other staff doing the same. Food was fresh and delicious. Make reservation.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!

So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res

Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
