Diane's Place Minneapolis Reviews
Unique Brunch
Came for brunch as we could not get a table at dinner. Everything we ate was delicious! Some/Most dishes can be shared which allows everyone to try multiple dishes. We could have eaten more of the egg rolls as they were some of the best we have ever
Unique restaurant in a unique location
This restaurant has been on my list since the chef earned a James Beard award. Itβs on a quiet street in Northeast Minneapolis. Not as fancy as I had expected. Inside is quite small and sparsely decorated. We were here for brunch, so it was a bit b
Fine Hmong Vegetarian Food That Leaves An Inner Smile
Dianeβs has won a Beard award and has been identified as one of the best new restaurants in the United States. So it was a real challenge to get a table. The three of us were able to get in at 9:30 PM and the place was still packed and quite busy.
Wonderful Hmong/Vietnamese/etc. food. Fabulous pastries. Sometimes there are picnic tables outside. Written up in New York Times. Great service.
Exceeded Expectations
It's always great fun, and highly unusual, to have a restaurant exceed your expectations but, Diane's Place did that for my wife and I. We went for dinner on a Thursday night. I will say, the place is rather small and does get fairly loud;
Yum- different and delicious!
Food was fantastic- the coconut pandam croissant off the charts delicious. Hmong sausage and sticky rice is a must try. Great service too
Pricy & not much on the menu that would convince me to come back
Didn't find much on the menu that interested me and prices are high. Main dining room is very noisy - if that matters to you suggest you be seated in the back dining area that is much quieter. Fresh toast order is large and pretty good (thoug

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Diane's Place Minneapolis at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Diane's Place Minneapolis page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* FluffyStar64, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $200 bid.
* FluffyStar64 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to FluffyStar64 for any questions Peter may have as FluffyStar64 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* FluffyStar64 now uses their connections at Diane's Place Minneapolis to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If FluffyStar64 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, FluffyStar64 receives the $200 reward which is credited to FluffyStar64's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Diane's Place Minneapolis!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
