Toki Restaurant Portland Reviews from The Last Year
Was in town for a few days and came in for lunch.
First time at this spot though I've been to Han Oak before. Lunch was really excellent. I went with the Ban Chan side dishes, a dol sot bowl of rice, and split the Korean fried chicken with one wing of each flavor (essence of ramen and sweet and spicy) The ban chan was quite good, especially the marinated spinach. The wings were also excellent. Beautiful crunch and flavor. One order plus the sides was enough for lunch (for me, at least). My only disappointment was the dol sot rice. It wasn't actually dol sot. There was no fried crunch on the bottom, probably because it wasn't actually cooked in this pot. Just served that way. Felt a little unnecessary. Just a side of rice will do. Service was excellent. Sat at the bar and my bartender was kind and sweet. Was lovely to be back in PDX. Will come back for lunch next time I return.
Really tasty food.
Ambiance could use some work because the music was so loud, we had a hard time having dinner conversation.
Wow, my best brunch in a long time.
Great options for vegetarian and gluten free. We had salad, potato pancake, steamed egg, omelette, spinach, toast. Beautiful plating. Excellent drink selection. Perfect ambiance. Friendly service.

Great spot for sharing small plates and drinks! They have a really good balance of great tasting, 'normal' foods mixed with some more uncommon 'exotic' dishes. I'd recommend trying some of both. Of course get the chicken wings but take a leap and try something you've never had - guaranteed you won't be disappointed.

Started out disappointed because the bao buns were taken off menu but was pleasantly blown away by the chef, ambiance and staff at #Toki The kanpachi crudo. No words. None at all. Get it.

We had a great dinner here! Our favorite menu items were the fried chicken wings and the dumplings. The service was wonderful too. Can't wait to try their other two restaurants, they also get great reviews!

Had a wonderful breakfast experience! Tried about a third of the breakfast menu!?! Perhaps not that much... but in any case, every food item delighted and each drink was fantastic. The team hosting our experience was a group of folks who were equal parts warm, personable, funny, and attentive. Very much looking forward to a return to this establishment!
Amazing food, great service, and a perfect vibe.
The perfect date spot! It's fun to taste all the little dishes.

We have now ate at all 3 of the restaurants in Peter Cho's
We have now ate at all 3 of the restaurants in Peter Cho's dynasty of restaurant. I loved this non traditional Portland breakfast spot. The only reason I give it a 4 star is because the staff didn't recognize my disability and tried to shove us in an area where it wouldn't work for me. The place is completely changed since the days of Tasty 'n Alder and a much better lay out. The food was absolutely scrumptious and so different I loved the virgin Bloody Mary. So delicious! We ordered several menu items, so I know what I will order next time and will take my daughter next time she is in town because she loves Korean food and this will be her jam.
P town, literally
Went for my son's birthday, they said they had shaded outside dining so I reserved "patio" weeks in advance. About half an hour before the reso, the host called and said the outdoor area would have sun, but offered to set up umbrellas. I agreed. What the host did not say was that the outdoor dining area smelled heavily of human urine. I am still not doing indoor dining because of susceptibility to bad covid outcomes, and outdoor dining is usually very pleasant here in Portland. I asked the server if they could apply something to the area, they said there wasn't anything they could do. It was pretty gross, but we ate there anyway, as I did not want to ruin the special occasion by trying to find somewhere else to eat. Service was excellent, food mediocre. Maybe don't offer outdoor dining if you cannot maintain a suitable area.
