The Ahwahnee Wawona Reviews from The Last Year
The hotel was charming, but covered in scaffolding for
The hotel was charming, but covered in scaffolding for renovations. We stayed in a cottage behind the main building. The room was clean, but TINY. No air, just a fan. The shared bathrooms were decent. The biggest perk is the hotel is in the national park, therefore you don't have to worry about a park reservation. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good. We enjoyed the piano music in the lobby in the evening, especially because there are no TVs.
Incredible views, location, history & hard to rate
Hard to rate 5 (or more stars) for location, scenery (a 10) and history 2-3 stars on everything else Pros - Setting/scenery like nowhere else in the world, cottage pretty and clean as it could be based on age, location to major hikes on valley floor was the best thing, heated Pool, gorgeous main dining room and ability to make reservations on open table, Service was helpful (valet & main desk), nice to sit outside the cottage at 2 person cafe table. Cons - walls paper thin and cottages adjoin to other cottage rooms (some may be stand alone), Hear everything, including crying babies (not trying to be a jerk & happy a family was next to us just fyi), food was limited and poor quality at bar, Better at main restaurant but a buffet (not my thing have a legit dairy allergy and hard to figure out food offenders) plus expensive. Suspect this is due to seismic work and kitchen closure. The mattress, bedding and towels were poor quality. After long hikes (15 miles) a better mattress would have been amazing, 5 nights on that thing was too long. Was a bummer the outside patio was closed off with red tape on doors (understand due to work), however, this limits the "oh wow" factor on that gorgeous view from the foyer. The key is get outside anyway. Recommendations Food/Drink - cottage has a mini fridge and had we brought bread, meats, I’d made my own proper sandwiches. Bring a cooler with salads, fruit, veggies. Yes, you can buy at Degnans and others stores but hassle to get decent quality. Whole Foods/Gelsons/quality grocery store would be a *welcome* addition to valley floor. If you have allergies, tough to manage. Brought the wine we like for evenings and avoid bar line. Get up early and hike - earlier the better Free bikes would have been nice (need to rent) - sometimes the little things are nice
Expensive, not a place for small kids
Great views and pleasant staff, but otherwise an awful experience. * Very far from everything, especially most food options * Food is very expensive and geared towards adults. If you have a child who is a fussy eater, you will struggle to find things for them to eat in the on-prem restaurants * No microwave in the room * Tub plugs are impossible to keep open. We had to jam a pen in ours to keep the tub from filling while we showered. * Toilet paper is basicallly 320 grit sandpaper * Most of the electrical outlets didn't work * Everything nearby closes very early. A lot of nearby food shuts down at 6pm. * Parking is valet-only, so if you need to drive somewhere to make up for the deficencies of this place, you are going to need to tip to get your car out of hock If everyone in your party is capable of walking a few miles and aren't fussy eaters, you might enjoy staying here. It's a Yosemite icon and I would have really enjoyed hiking around the valley if I weren't with indoor-oriented small children. Unfortunately, this has been one of our worst family trips in a long time and this overpriced hotel with its poor eating options was a big part of that.
Sad state for a grand lady…
Overrated grand dame of historic hotels in national parks. Valet parking is your only option ($30 per night). Our room was not ready when we arrived so they said they would text us when ready. They never did. Charged us $200 per night security deposit and said it would be reimbursed when we checked out. I’ve never had a nice hotel make an actual charge in my credit card for a security deposit. Told us a check in the heated pool was not open. The next day we saw people in the pool. Asked about this at the front desk and they said it was now open…. I’m not sure who is operating this hotel now - Aramark or Xanterra - but they need to get their act together or this fine example of a 1920 era hotel will slide into oblivion……
Book this at your peril. Nowhere near the standard you pay for.
We were advised that the hotel was undergoing refurbishment but this cannot excuse the: Poor WiFi - you have to log in almost every time you connect. Other WiFi systems remember passwords and log you in each time, it feels as if they are using an extremely old fashioned system. Lack of variety in the food - the very expensive ($90 a head) dinner in the hotel provided effectively the same menu for each of the four nights we were there, and even that buffet menu was extremely limited. Thankfully we identified that the bar served a limited but alternate menu and we had one night with a different choice. A similar comment could be made about breakfasts ($30 a head) Patchy service - drinks, bread etc were sometimes slow to arrive at dinner. A number of staff were obviously new starters and we couldn’t help feeling that the hotel was understaffed. Hoardings up all over the front and side of the hotel - meaning that you feel as if you are in a wooden box and you do not get many of the views for which the hotel has a reputation. There is tape all over the place almost giving an impression that you have walked into a crime scene. Extortionate valet parking charges for your car to be driven 200 yards to somewhere in the parking lot. Poor ventilation - an overheated room meant that opening a window for fresh air merely exposed us to noise from the temporary kitchen and refrigeration units and then the construction noise when they started up at 6.30 am. We spent the first part of our stay in a cottage which was thankfully better ventilated and away from the construction noise. However, these are difficult to come by and much more expensive than a standard room. No doubt when construction stops and the hotel is fully staffed it will once again be the wonderful experience that we are told this establishment once was. However at the moment, given you have to book a year in advance and the fact that it is the only upscale hotel in the valley, it feels as if current customers are being taken for a very expensive ride by the hotel/owners.
Shame on Ahwahnee
This place is a dump! The most uncomfortable hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was 85 degrees with windows open despite it being 45 degrees outside. When I tried to get help all they told me was to turn down the thermostat-like I hadn’t already tried that! No one answers phones for help, the beds are uncomfortable and overall the place looks like it hasn’t been taken care of since it was built nearly 100 years ago. Awoke to loud noise at 6 am that continues through the day. And all this for $600/night! The food here was ok, but $100 / person for a buffet?! Really?! I definitely would NOT recommend this place! You would be better off being tour own tent and taking your chances with the wildlife.
Totally underwhelming
Our stay was so incredibly underwhelming! From the moment we stepped out to “Valet Only” our experience was less than enjoyable. The registration hosts were anything but welcoming. The rooms are just sad. The towels may have been white when the hotel was built in 1927, but they are grey and tiny. The carpeting is well beyond its use. We knew when we booked that the hotel was undergoing renovations. We had no idea there would be jack hammers going 9 hours a day. No adjustment in the room charge for continual noise heard in your room, but more importantly outside on the grounds of the hotel. The organic beauty in Yosemite is beyond words. The Ahwanee is just not.
We're paying how much to be this miserable?
Unconscionable that this hotel accepts reservations while undergoing construction. But it's only from 7 am to 5 pm....still charging full price w inconvenience of jack hammers, closed areas, including the pool. After a long and wonderful hike, just wanting a nap before dinner and impossible with the constant high decibal noise. We booked through a third party and were unable to cancel. Paying over $900 a night for this experience. Shame on the owners for continuing to take money when they should shut this place down until they can properly host their guests.
Jack hammer on our roof Poorest service at highest price ever
STAY SOMEPLACE IF U CAN. After cancellation date we were told construction was going on. OK I was expecting some noise and lived with truck backup beep alarm at 6:15 am. but not expecting Jack hammering directly over our room ALL DAY LONG!! Went out hiking most of day and we wanted to take a nap before our mediocre $90 pp buffet before alcohol. I measured the jack hammer noise at 83db which is almost factory floor level. front desk wouldn't make eye contact guess they are embarrassed at guest complaints complaints. Management wanted to comp us another dinner buffet with same menu we said no thanks. We are paying $933 night + 30 valet day can't self park check in nightmare room not ready. Stumbled across construction foreman who was more apologetic and sympathetic than hotel manager. Said hotel told them they weren't renting rooms near construction. Hotel manager said they are 100% booked can't do anything for us. GREEDY because they can be. Expect to be treated this way if you stay.
This hotel is magnificent- such a great stay to get into
This hotel is magnificent- such a great stay to get into the feeling of Yosemite. The rooms are very clean, and the staff is remarkably friendly. You are instantly spirited away to a bygone era, and the feeling stays with you the entire trip. You are right next to the pioneer history center with all original Yosemite valley buildings- which is an added perk. The restaurant is great and the wait staff is exceptional. We stayed in a room without bathroom, but it was fine as the bathrooms were close and always very clean.
Lovely but undergoing renovations
Lodge is lovely. Nicest furniture of any National Park lodge we've stayed in. Downside is that the hotel is currently undergoing renovations which meant that the only dinner option was a $63 per person buffet and I strongly dislike buffets so we opted for dinner in the bar which was fine but not the same views or ambiance.
Underwhelming/highly disappointing
Entire experience has been truly disappointing. This hotel is extremely well known and pricey but other than having beautiful public rooms, it's been a disappointment. I understand they are under construction but that should not effect the service. Actually, other than seeing the construction equipment, it didn't bother us at all and our room overlooked some of the equipment. The views from our room were spectacular (had a corner room). Room was spacious and quiet but very tired. I understand the hotel is old but I'd say our room was shabby with mold in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the room was well equipped. The hotel at this time has no heat and no air conditioning. To compensate they have a space heater and fan in the closet. Central air was definitely needed but they do not turn it on this early in the year. Fortunately, no heat was needed since that too was off for the season. The pool had not opened. They have gorgeous fireplaces in the public rooms (some large enough to walk into) but they, too were not being used, even in the very cold mornings. For whatever reason it was not possible to charge meals, etc., to the room but we had to pay each time with a credit card instead of charging to the room. Annoying! Several other minor things were also "under going service." We found the bar service and bar food to be excellent although a limited menu and half of the breakfast items were not available.
Location is great. Came prepared
So we came prepared with the valet and everything. Valet actually is pretty helpful when we checked in after getting super wet and cold from heavy snow. We also came prepared to make our own food since the receptionist is very honest with us that the Kitchen is still under renovation. The renovation also blocks the access to the backyard with the best view but you can still see the view actually. The view from our room is fantastic. Location cannot be beaten. Solid 4 stars if you think the location overweights the pretty steep price from a hotel perspective.
Underwhelming Ahwahnee
Valet parking and delivery of luggage to room great … but expensive! Concierge was very stuffy … I might be in shorts, but please treat me with a little more respect after a 10 drive to get to the hotel! I’m very sorry I didn’t do the online check in! Just standing there with a check in queue building and not helping is not a great look. The receptionist who dealt with me was great however. Food options limited and expensive. Buffet had virtually no veggie options for my wife so we used the bar and she had the option of a salad and pretzels. Both very nice, but for the price paid to stay here I feel they should offer more variety. Waitress was lovely! Discovered that the toilet would not flush later in the evening. Went to reception at 6am as we had to use the reception toilets overnight! The receptionist did not sound surprised! Toilet was fixed, along with a non operational room safe, by 11am. But should we be getting this level of service at this cost? The general decor is very shabby in places (lift floor and lounge ceiling for example) and the outside areas under construction look awful. The construction may have contributed to the squirrel we saw running thought the large lounge into the kitchen! See picture! Yes a squirrel in the kitchen! Breakfast was in the bar. I feel sorry for the rude customers the girl working had to deal with on Saturday the 20th … she was great. Croissant was sweet … more like a brioche? Lovely tea and coffee. Overall the place is trading on former glory. No toilet and all I get is sorry. That’s ok though as I got a nice view in a historic building that is not as old as my terraced house in London!
A hallowed hotel in a transcendent place
The Ahwahnee has a grandeur unlike any I've seen elsewhere. It isn't dripping with luxury but with the high ceilings, enormous fireplaces, and understated beauty it is a fitting to tribute to the park in which it sits. Even if you don't stay here, you should spend time in one of the common rooms. Better still, dine in the restaurant!
Worse than a Border Patrol detention facility and nothing like it used to be.
Worse than a Border Patrol detention facility and nothing like what it used to be. We stayed in a cabin that literally is worse than a Border Patrol immigration detention facility. There was mold throughout the unit, a couch with a sketchy stain on it, poor heat, and a closet that holds nothing. Yes, literally, if these conditions were in a Border Patrol facility, it would fall within the definition of "cruel and unusual punishment" that is described in Doe v Mayorkas, U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona Case Number CV-15-00250. Noncitizens held in detention get better treatment than what cost us more than $600 per night. It's a complete shame, because this hotel is nothing like what it used to be, and in no way should it be considered a four star location. The teenagers working at the front desk also were incredibly rude and dismissive. Cassidy in particular was noteworthy for being someone who hung up on my wife (who has experience working guest services at two different Forbes Five Star properties). My wife was appalled by the lack of customer service. One star is generous for what essentially is a run down shack in the woods.
Not Perfect and Pricy but Worth Every Penny
Okay kids, it’s time for a honest review about what it is like to stay at the Ahwahnee as spring 2024 arrives. First, the valet …. Suck it up. Yeah it’s $30. That’s less than other hotels lately and we had in n out privileges plus security. A group of chain hotels down in Oakhurst charged $10 to park — that’s a ripoff. Then, the food choices — limited, pricy but pretty good if you go to the bar adjacent to the front desk. The rooms? First of all, the scaffolding is gone. Second, the key here is to get a cabin. Period. Ok so the bathroom smelled like pee. Dude … look where you are. Yeah, Aramark isn’t perfect but our overall stay, with a comfy bed, cell service with Internet faster than the Wifi from the hotel, and 3am stargazing from Heaven, all made it worth the $600+ bill. YOLO… and Yosemite Village is like a Ramada by comparison. I’m going to remember our trip for a while, and it will be mainly positive. The buffet is to avoid. The walk to Degnans is easy. Buses are plentiful for the frugally minded. Now, go get your park reservation and no whining allowed
Insane valet parking rules
When you pay top dollar (3 nights $1990) for a hotel room and there is no other way then traveling with the car to the hotel, a $30 valet parking fee is a ripoff, particularly since that is the ONLY option. It put a very bad taste to our stay there from the beginning. I just don’t like to be taken advantage off, I wonder when they start to charge $100, again there is no other option. The staff other, than the manager, is very friendly and helpful, 5 stars to them. I heard the restaurant dumps the leftover food of the buffet instead of giving it to their employees. That’s disgusting. The restaurant is beautiful, buffet only. Quantity over quality here. Rooms old but clean. Outside looked sad. The hotel is an icon and gorgeous.
Filthy rooms and careless management
This was our second time at this hotel. We were somewhat disappointed with the previous management (Delaware North) of the hotel and were looking forward to experiencing the hotel under new management. However, this visit was exceptionally worse than the last. Our “premium” (expensive) view was blocked by construction equipment. There was equipment, workers, and a lift literally right outside our window. We were told that renovations would be complete by the time we checked in. They were not, yet we were charged the full rate for our room, despite not being able to enjoy the view we paid for and planned our trip around. Most of the hotel amenities were unavailable during our visit as well. Staff was cold and unfriendly. The room was shockingly grungy. Stained carpets, bedding, and curtains. Filth and grime in every crevice of the bathroom. Absolutely disgusting. I wrote a letter to the NPS to share my disgust with the hotel stewards, Aramark, but did not receive a response. This is America’s hotel. Aramark is simply the current steward. They have a responsibility to take better care of this hotel.
Very old historical hotel that will take you back 100 years
Very old historical hotel that will take you back 100 years while the food has a nice range of choices. Online booking is lagging behind, however. The people are as interesting as the place.
Wawona, oh Wawona, I really wanted to give you 5 stars but
Wawona, oh Wawona, I really wanted to give you 5 stars but you let me down. Was it the location? Nope - 5 stars there. The buildings? Nope - 5 stars. Plus, now the lighting is with LED lamps so it is nice and bright. Was it the staff . Nope - 5 stars there too. Thank you Michael, Lori, Ann and others who I didn't get their names. Then there is Tom Bopp [https://yosemitemusic.com/bopbio.html]. That's 10 stars, or more. Strangely enough, these was the ubiquitous hotel amenities book in the room, with a list of phone numbers for services and emergencies. There was no cell or landline service, and no WIFI except in the lobby. Come on NPS and Aramark, it's ¼ through the 21ST century already The kitchen, the food; major disappointments. The Thanksgiving meal had been left on the steam table or under heat lamps far too long. The plating was not well laid out. Little splashes of gravy, but not on the mashed potatoes or stuffing. However, the salad was delish. The meal on Sat was basically the same. Mary's chicken was dry and tough. The rib eye was the thinnest cut of meat I have seen called a rib eye. Just not a good experience for dinner. Breakfast was hit or miss. Again, too much time on the warming table. I should have just had the fruit plate. You can't destroy that, or can you? Aramark, the concessionaire, has to hire good kitchen staff who can make the diner's really happy. I'm not asking for exotic foods or large portions, they were too large but that's another story, but food that is well prepared, plated nicely and not left to dry out and toughen. Wawona Hotel is one of our go-to places that is away from the Valley's crowds. Great hikes abound and the Mariposa Grove is right down the street. Regardless, we will return.

September Fri-Mon - Parking is all over, complimentary, and not particularly easy to get to. At night you are shuffling in the dark. - Rooms. My dad was flabbergasted that the restrooms and showers were outside of the rooms. I compounded his shock by showing him the little toilet under the stairs that was listed on the map. Later I found the bigger restrooms and showers a floor below. They're pretty nice, and outfitted with bright lights, big mirrors, reliable hot water, and a hairdryer. Consider bringing shower sandals. My parents, being Asian, brought their water heater pot. There were a total of three outlets in the room with a queen bed and a twin bed (and a desk). It looked like every other room had a shower and restroom. I evidently cheaped out at $187/night, although I believe I snagged the last room in all the hotels within Yosemite national park. No microwave or fridge, but I had my cooler and the hotel had a crushed ice machine. We were on the first floor of the two story building; it never got too hot or cold. - Amenities. Wi-Fi was nonexistent in the rooms. There were crowds at the lobby, probably trying to catch the free Wi-Fi and failing. T-mobile signal does not reach here. I had lost reception about 20 minutes prior to reaching the hotel. The one drinking water we were told about is located behind the check in, above a tub of mushrooms. My mom gushed about the delicious, sweet drinking water and talked of refilling all our water bottles before we check out. The live piano and singing at night was nice. The front desk staff is super pleasant. Chairs and tables are arrayed all around the grounds. Coffee and hot water and half and half and milk are freely available in the morning. - Dining. Three meals served a day. My portobello mushroom doused with ranch was great. Overall a neat stay, albeit far from Yosemite valley but super close to the mariposa grove.
This review is for the Wawona Hotel Dining Room -- as we
This review is for the Wawona Hotel Dining Room -- as we were not able to get reservations at the hotel for our stay. We did have two lovely breakfasts at the property -- but the second time, the place was packed and the wait was at least 40 minutes...even though the actual dining room was only half full. Our server Laura was fantastic though, so we decided to come back for our final night dinner. Reservations were recommended, but four attempts to call their phone number failed -- no one ever picked up. Deciding to chance it, we drove to the hotel and were informed that the dining room was only available to hotel guests...and our only option was to order take out. Take out? When other hotels are miles and miles and miles away, meaning your food would be ice cold by the time you arrived? And again, the dining room was virtually empty. When we told them we had tried to call several times, all we got was "Everyone's busy here. The hotel is busier than expected." How is that possible? We tried to book the Wawona months in advance and couldn't get in -- but yet the staff doesn't know the hotel is full booked? Surely somebody could answer the phone? Or use an answering machine with a recorded message for those calling in, informing them of the situation? Clearly there's a staffing issue, and an overall mismanagement of the dining facility.
This hotel is perfectly located within the park boundaries
This hotel is perfectly located within the park boundaries and away from crowds which is why we stayed there. My husband and I stayed for two nights. It is cute, quaint and of course, it is old (obviously, it's historical), and the grounds are very pretty. We "checked in" at 4:00 p.m. but had to wait until 5:30 p.m. for our room to be ready. There is no Wi-Fi in the rooms, and the only Wi-Fi is in the lobby. The rooms are clean and tiny but make sure if you do not want to share a bathroom/shower to book a room WITH A BATHROOM--pay the extra money!! Fortunately, we booked a room with a bathroom, but the walls in the room were so paper thin that you literally have no real privacy when using the bathroom, it's as if the person next door is in the room with you! We could hear conversations from both of our neighbors. With no television or radio in the room it made being in the room worse, thank goodness we were at the park most of the time, but at night we felt like we couldn't make a sound. It was as if we were staying in a walk-in closet. As for the restaurant, we only had dinner the first night there, no other meals. A hamburger and fries cost $24 per person and that was without a drink. After that surprise we decided to eat at the park. The nice things were the grocery store within walking distance (it closes at 6:00 p.m.) and the wonderful hike across the street. We were able to say we stayed in this historical hotel; however, we will not be staying there again.
We enjoyed our stay at the Wawona Hotel.
Food was delicious. We were lucky we had a room with a bathroom. The wait for food and to check in was a little long but I believe this may have been due to staffing so we were patient. Rooms were clean. Enjoyed the piano entertainment especially during these waiting times.
This hotel is inside the park, pretty convenient, pretty
This hotel is inside the park, pretty convenient, pretty easy to book, pretty inexpensive. The good part is you can take a bus from here to Yosemite valley twice a day, and be back before 8:00 p.m. . The other good part is that they have a piano in the lobby and live music most of the nights! There is no TV on the premises and not much to do in the evening. But you can order drinks at the bar and spend the night with live music till like 930ish. Some rooms have bathrooms, but some don't, so you can use the common bathrooms and showers. They are very clean, the whole hotel is very clean and well kept, in spite of its age. There is also a general store next door, but it's small and has odd hours when it's open.

Summary: The hotel is within park boundaries, has electricity, and is clean. The beds are comfortable, but there is no AC and most rooms have a shared bathroom situation. You are paying for location and convenience. Service is friendly and there's a restaurant on site which serves 3 meals a day. Plus a great bar starting at 5pm! Detail: Set your expectations appropriately and prepare to be satisfied. This is a hotel in a national park (dare I say one of the most trafficked in the continental states?) that has been running continuously for over 120 years. In fact it's hosted multiple presidents-- at the turn of last century. The hotel is proud of its history-- and rightly so! Antiques and period pieces adorn the lobby and the rooms. This is a hotel that begs for people to congregate outside of their (tiny) rooms. People hang out in the lobby and on the verandas. The pool, when open, is popular. There are tennis courts and a ranger station on site in the summer. Star gazing at the golf course is epic. They have a piano player most weekend nights playing show tunes (it's a little kitsch and he doesn't seem to know any tunes from after 1950) and the wifi is spotty in the lobby. Wifi is non-existent in the rooms, and no TVs anywhere. In terms of amenities-- bring shower slides but otherwise the rest is well appointed. Towels and robes are provided, and hot coffee and tea are available every morning. There's also an ice machine for use to keep your ice chest cold. Service is awesome. This ain't the Four Seasons but staff try to make your stay pleasant. Lee at the front desk helped me get acquainted with the hotel and dinner reservations, the room staff and handymen were helpful, and the restaurant staff were pleasant despite the oppressive crowds and demanding patrons. Anthony, our server most meals was awesome -- he kept us informed of the specials, our drinks (coffee or Negronis or beers) filled, and provided us with some awesome hike recs. We were grateful for his conversation and help each meal in ensuring we got what we ordered, in a timely fashion, and guided us to some great dinner choices. We were bummed to not be seated in his section our last night but he was covering multiple large parties and did wave to us as we left for the evening. Lori was our sever another night and she was pleasant. The dinner restaurant manager did a great job keeping the trains moving and the staff on track. It was impressive to watch. The food is what you'd expect for a national park-- dinner for 2 with drinks and a starter salad and desert will run you $120 with tip. Breakfast for two is around $30. Most meals will take you about an hour and the food comes as it is ready. If you have extensive dietary restrictions or require four star treatment you may need to bring your own food to eat on the veranda. There is no microwave or mini fridge so it's what you can keep in your cooler. That being said, I found the convenience of the restaurant worth it. In terms of dishes: Breakfast: - yogurt parfait: small but delicious, thick Greek yogurt with fresh berries and granola - two eggs: solid hikers breakfast - they do a great job with the eggs and the hash browns are dreamy (with hot sauce added)! The bacon was also great and plentiful - oatmeal: basic, heaping portion - short stack pancakes : delicious and fluffy. Reminds me of the pancakes up at Tuolumne tent cabins. The small portion is plenty for a single person. Lunch: N/A -- brought our own lunches since we were on the trail for lunch each day. Drinks: - Negroni: hard to mess up but perfect after a long day hike. - perfect Manhattan: surprisingly well done-- right ratios and ingredients - solid beer and wine selection too Dinner: - wedge salad -- amazing fresh iceberg with homemade blue cheese dressing and lots of bacon and tomatoes. So good - fettuccine Alfredo with chicken -- solid comfort food with appropriate creaminess. Moderate sized portion - burger -- well cooked, fresh, and solid (got it 2x) - tilapia -- the fish was good but the sides were mediocre; risotto tasted like a boxed meal and the side of sprouts (which was 2 Brussel sprouts) were undercooked. Anthony helped swap this out but be forewarned. - pot roast-- delicious, with great red skin mashed potatoes - chicken with verde sauce - amazing dish that was on special the night we were there. Their chefs were doing a Honduran menu that night and this dish was smothered in the most savory lightly spicy green sauce. I could've eaten two. - steak - solid, a little more cooked than I'd like, but good seasoning and solid sides (mashed potato) - tri-tip special-- very tough and the bbq sauce was kind of off. I'd avoid. Overall we found our stay at the Wawona for four nights an excellent way to spend some time at the park, at a fair price with loads of conveniences, and would be back in a heartbeat.
Specifically asked the front desk if there was a magic way
Specifically asked the front desk if there was a magic way to cool down the brutally hot room. 'Open the windows'. Well, duh. That wasn't working. I explained I've opened the windows and was fanning cool air by flapping a towel and the door, but still no mention of the fan. They could have informed me of the fan buried in the closet. Or, the staff could have set the fan up to cool the room down. Absolutely blazing and unbearably hot room. The lights outside were left on all night blazing into the room. Also noisy with the windows open. Ridiculously uncomfortable beds. Wifi for park research was unavailable. Didn't get any sleep. Absolutely horrible. I've stayed at hotels of this era with no problems. In fact, a 15th century French hotel was significantly better, too, and actually must cheaper. I highly recommend you look elsewhere. The tents actually in Yosemite Park central area would have been nicer and better situated. Most expensive crappy hotel I've ever experienced in my life. $300+ wasted.
Amazing
We had an amazing stay here! Despite all of the construction- the staff were all so friendly that it made up for us now being able to use the traditional dining room. We were really bummed about that- but hope we can come back some day to experience it! Our room view was great. I was worried after reading some of the reviews, but I think people need to remember this is an old hotel and old doesn’t equal dirty. Our room was very clean and again staff was awesome!

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
