One White Street New York Reviews from The Last Year
Well, this was lovely.
We had a perch on the third floor. On a Tuesday evening it was not very noisy at all. The fennel salad was lovely and they were kind enough to drop the anchovies for us. The cauliflower was done in an interesting sauce, was it mango? But it was boiled or steamed , that detracted a little. Still a nice dish. The nettle pasta was excellent. Wish they'd given us just a few more shells, I think there were only four. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Came here for a family lunch on a weekend and everything we ordered was delicious! Seasonal ingredients were fresh, service was fine. The interior was nice and clean, and it was also cool that it was in a historic townhouse. Would recommend!
Just went for my second visit in two months last night.
Both times my husband and I went for the a la carte menu since I'm kind of picky and am not super into set menus. We've now ordered 75% of the menu and I can confidently say that it's all really well done. We tried both salads but far preferred the shaved fennel (got it without blue cheese and it was still great). The radicchio is a lot more aggressive in flavor. The sourdough is fantastic as is the garlic butter (took some home). The focaccia is great if you love sour cream and onion, but I'd pick the sourdough over the focaccia for sure. The fluke crudo isn't your typical crudo because of the puffs and curry. It almost tastes like a chaat which I was super into, but if you want something more traditional this might not be for you. The mushroom stuffed pasta is fantastic, but a smaller portion. It comes with five lil stuffed pastas and a sauce. Def not an entree but would be good to share as an app. If you like mushrooms and rich flavors you should def go for this dish The bass is great but I personally am less into fish. The clams are a nice addition! The cheeseburger here is one of the best I've ever had. We ordered medium rare and it came out perfectly. They don't give you nearly enough pickles but each time I've asked for more they've been cool about it. I wasn't super into the carrot falafel. I generally am not that into falafel and it's just that + a lot of carrots. We were between that and the beets and I regret not ordering the beets. We've never ordered dessert here but we went for our anniversary and they brought us complimentary champagne which was really delicious and also a little funfetti cake with a scoop of ice cream. There was a bit of sea salt in the cake which was a nice touch. All in all I very much enjoy this spot and will probably go again in like a year once they change the menu.
Wouldn't recommend the tasting menu.
Half of it came cold. Wine pairing isn't worth it. Food was good but overpriced
Great choice for dinner in New York
We were in New York for the weekend and met up with friends for dinner. They had chosen the restaurant and we knew nothing about it. It was perfect! We were able to take our time and didn't feel rushed. We are non drinkers, and they had great mocktails. They also had alcoholic drinks. The food was delicious. I had a hamburger which was probably the best I have ever had. For dessert i shared a lemon pavlova with my husband and it was outstanding. The staff were very friendly. I hope to go back again the next time I am in New York.
Did not have super high expectations so food was actually
Did not have super high expectations so food was actually above my expectations lol. Got basically all of the appetizers which were all delicious, and the standouts were the crudo and focaccia. The mains were decent, burger was the best and stuffed chicken was pretty good too. Did not do pre fixe but would say service was meticulous and ambiance was very nice for date night or a small group dinner!
Came here Friday night for a celebratory dinner.
We initially wanted to do a la carte bc my husband had some dietary restrictions. But the host said if we reserved for tasting menu (which we didn't know we did), we should stick to it bc the restaurant only had several of those spots per night and that it's important for the restaurant to keep these reservations. I do however, appreciate the fact that they were able to switch out some ingredients for my husband's dietary restrictions, so it all worked out in the end. We were seated upstairs where the tables were very close between each group, almost touching, which I wish wasn't the case. Overall I enjoyed my meal but for the amount of $$ this cost, I wish there was more space around where we were sitting.
Delicious pre fix meal.
Not to be missed. The service was on point, but the food was even better!!

Awesome dining experience! The burger was insane as well as the fennel salad. Perfect meal.

At a high end place I expect to be wow-ed, unfortunately it wasn't special/amazing. We sat at bar (it is a really tiny place) and the bartender was great, made lovely drinks. We had sourdough with black garlic which was lovely. The fennel salad was good, but nothing to rave about. I ordered the duck, my hubby the burger. He ordered med rare, it was well done, still juicy, but really, a one Michelin star place that can't cook a burger right..and my duck was the disappointment of the night. The meat was very tender, probably prepared sous vide, but the crispy skin was burned from the spices and tasted bitter as a result. I love crispy duck skin, didn't eat this one.... All in all not what I was expecting.

I came here for dinner with my friend a while back and we had a lovely time. The tasting menu was delicious and is in the upstairs portion in an intimate small dining room, with excellent service. Would definitely return and am curious about the a la carte menu so might try that next time.
Enjoyed the service and more quiet ambiance here.
My favorites were the appetizers, the trout, and the goat cheese dessert. The rest of the dishes were just ok.
*PLEASE READ* I had made the reservation all the way back
*PLEASE READ* I had made the reservation all the way back on 9/6 as a Global Dining Access Member for 9/29 via Resy, very eager to see what One White Street had to offer. We arrived at One White Street shortly before our reservation time despite the horrendous flooding weather, gave a staff member our belongings and obtained a #20 gold token to be used later for our same belongings at the end of the night. We were then escorted to the 3rd floor for the counter seating. We finished our bland meal, paid, called a car to head back home and headed down the stairs around 11pm. I would like to preface that we have been to hundreds of Michelin starred restaurants all over the globe over the years as it is a hobby of ours. We noticed there was nobody to greet us out the door or to assist with our belongings. This was a first. We proceeded to take initiative as our ride home was approaching and headed down the stairs to retrieve our belongings. My guest went first with myself behind, she then slipped on the top wet marble/slate step and proceeded to fall down the additional 5/6 stairs until the bottom, with her backside slamming first. To no avail was any employee to assist in helping her up or helping us with our belongings after the incident either. Very embarrassed, she just wanted to leave the scene and get in the car we had outside waiting to go home. Before we had entered the vehicle, I noticed there was no yellow or slip sign and a small, but noticeable puddle of some substance on the top step going down where the slip happened as we were trying to retrieve our own belongings. Additionally before leaving the restaurant James had given me his information written on the back of Alfred's business card. When reaching out via telephone James had mentioned this was a "fluke" experience and to write this all via email. He admitted no wrong doing nor an apology. It has now been over a week and I have not heard from the restaurant nor their HR department at all. For a $600 2 person tasting menu experience I will not be returning. Extremely disappointed in this establishment the night of the accident and what transpired a week after. Very disrespectful.

Fine dining
Very good individual cuisine, nice atmosphere - good service - what you would expect at these prices. All in all, a good recommendation.
Terrible Food and Terrible Service
Shame on you! This is the steak I ordered for medium rare! (See picture) I asked the server about the doneness when it was first served, and he insisted it is medium rare for them. When I could hardly cut it through, I asked the server to take another look. The server took the plate back to the kitchen and soon presented me with the same plate without further explanation. Possibly, he thought he could get away with this by taking advantage of me having a date here and not willing to make a big deal out of this. I came here before this restaurant earned its Michelin star this year and decided to return for an important date. I was so mad and sad to have this experience. What a Shame!
Tasty menu, but without something very unusual
We visited this restaurant for a dinner with tasting menu. Good and nutritious menu: starters and lamb were excellent, other dishes were good, but not extra striking. I think, Chef plays safe and cautious: no bright experiences with tastes. Small cocktail card, but cocktails are tasty. Not all staff is smiley - some of them just bring dishes and clean the table, no easy talk and smiles.
Spectacular Haut Cuisine restaurant find in Tribeca
On Friday evening we had dinner at One White Street in Tribeca. The restaurant came highly recommended by friends and they recently earned a Michelin star. The restaurant comes across on the small side, but they have an upper floor where the tasting menu is served and there are several tables under an awning for outside seating. When we arrived and joined our friends, the sommelier was pouting a sparkling wine. This may have been ordered by our table mates, since they had already been seated. I bring up the wine because my wife and I remarked these were the lightest wine glasses we have ever seen. We have only seen them once before, in Europe. I took a picture of the base and learned they are made by William Yeoward. These are not cheap, but the elegance bowls you over. We started by sharing several dishes, which carried through as our theme for dinner. This included the Foie Gras Presse ($28) and Garlic Mozzarella Focaccia ($16). There is plenty to share. Our entree course included several shared dishes including Smoked Carrots ($14). Charred Snap Pas ($16), Crispy Potatoes ($14) Roasted Duck ($46) and Grilled Monkfish Chop ($42). I was fine with sharing and felt there was plenty for everyone. The food was splendid. I am a wine fan. The short wine list is interesting. They have high end burgundies priced in the low thousands, but they also have great bottles that are also affordable. We ordered Pernand Vergelesses, a red Burgundy priced at $62.00/bottle. It was so good, we had two! We had two desserts, a caramel chocolate torte and a whipped dessert topped with aromatic herbs. These were fine for sharing too. We did not want the evening to end, but we thought other people might be waiting for our table. We paid the bill and headed outside where we were able to get another table under the canopy. We ordered a bottle of dessert wine, a Marsala from Italy. The bottle, which was full size, ran $99.00. I mention full side because other dessert wines often come in half bottle sizes. Location is an another point in their favor. The restaurant is diagonally across the street from the Franklin Street stop on the #1 train. Are there negatives? The restaurant is small. It might be difficult to get a reservation. Plan ahead. Our experience was excellent. They are deserving of their Michelin star. We would return.
