In all honesty, I came here expecting pretty good food.
However, I have to admit that my expectations were unfortunately not met. The food had somewhat of a good presentation, but unfortunately the most important part, the taste, wasn't so good. Food was bland and boring. It is pretty overrated & the reviews are glazing.

Be the first to ReplyFood, service and ambience all excellent.
The server was very friendly and helpful without being too much. Food was outstanding. We sat at the outside patio which was luxurious yet relaxed.

Didn't mind waiting to be seated, however it didn't make sense when people who are walk-ins come in after you've checked in and they are seated before someone who has reservations. Compared to places like Osteria Mozza or Cucina the food lacked flavor for the price you were paying not to mention the service. The atmosphere was good and the place was clean. Service never checked had to ask to order or water or pay the bill.

My kids surprised me and took me to North Italia in Irvine for Mother's Day. Food was delicious! It was the best pasta I've had! Our server, Gabriel, made it extra special. He was in on the surprise and went above and beyond to make it the best experience. I was brought to tears! Thank you, Gabriel! I'll never forget it!

Food was ok for price point service was exceptional it was busy but everything was executed well. Drinks were ok. Overall ok experience
Be the first to ReplyNorth Italia in Irvine is a good concept poorly delivered.
The restaurant has a fun, bright, and lively feel. The menu looks good and the floor staff are all friendly. Great start. However, despite sharing food allergies with the staff our food was delivered carelessly with the allergens we communicated. When it was replaced without the allergens, the food was raw and runny and we were charged for those corrections. The waitress did fix the check for us and she tried to make up for it with a good personality. On her own she would be rated high but the kitchen staff and poor management reaction to the many problems deserve at best one . It's the waitresses effort that boosted them to two stars. The edible food was OK but nothing like it looked online. My friend received soggy fried calamari that was delivered very late. My smoked salmon avocado toast tasted ok but had barely any avocado or salmon on it and two rounds of inedible deliveries were ridiculous. Carelessness seems to be common across the store except for waitress staff trying to compensate for an otherwise poorly delivered good concept. Management offered us a free dessert on our next visit all of which includes the same allergen we were trying to avoid. Needless to say we do not anticipate returning to North Italia and if you care about your food and management experience you should second guess this place too.
Be the first to ReplyGreat location.
Super great staff. Worst food I've ever had. The breakfast sandwich was absolutely disgusting and almost inedible. Most of our large party ordered it .... But did not eat it. Who ever came up the breakfast sandwich combo needs to find another job. Again cool spot ... great staff. I've been there twice before and the food was good. Maybe the chef was having a bad day.

I eat here often and always bring out of town guests because the food is always so great! We love it ! Yesterday however , I placed an order to go, arrived and waited what was really an unreasonable amount of time, and was shocked that my pizza was ice cold and had no real toppings. I also ordered a gem salad with dressing on the side as was given a very small amount of dressing that was not enough to dress the salad . Although the lettuce was fresh, it was unwashed as the lettuce tasted of grainy dirt! I was so disappointed. I do hope that this was just a bad day in the kitchen.

I had not been here in a few years but wanted to celebrate a friend's bday so we chose this restaurant. I was fasting and starving so maybe I just ordered the wrong things to my liking but I did not feel the food was good. I'm not saying it was horrible, I'm just saying for the amount they charge, the food should be ahhmazing and I left not wanting to go back nor wanting to recommend this place to others. Tomato & Burrata - not bad but the tomatoes had a strange taste. Calamari Fritti - Not a fan of the heavy breading. Usually most places use panko or other type of bread crumbs for breading. Sauces were good. Prosciutto Pizza - Three ingredients. Not much goat cheese on it. I should have ordered another pizza. The service is great and dessert carrot cake was good. The outdoor seating is nice except you could hear every firetruck, siren, that passes by. Dirty outdoor table seating where we sat. Do yourself a favor and try Angelina's Pizzeria Napoletana in Irvine for upscale Italian too and tell me I am wrong and judge for yourself. Very disappointed. I really hoped for more.

We've been to North Italia a few times and every time has been wonderful. The food, service, and ambiance is perfect! We appreciate the gluten free pizza option for my husband. The pasta and Caesar salad is delicious! Our server Jeremy R. Was fantastic!!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food and very nice atmosphere.
Great spot for a date or special occasion. Our server was great and very attentive. Definitely get a reservation. Our favorite dishes were the short rib lumache, shrimp scampi, and the prosciutto pizza (bomba style, a ricotta mixture to dip your crust in!). The short rib lumache was the standout dish and a must try. All the desserts we tried (tiramisu, butter cake, gelato, bombalinis) were delicious as well, especially the bombalinis. Will definitely be back.

Looking forward to come back here again! The chicken parm is delicious!

We love coming to North and sharing the charcuterie board! Their gluten free pizzas are great as well. The ambiance and service is always too notch. Make a reservation though because it's always busy.

IRVINE'S PIECE OF ITALY!!Atmosphere: The interior is gorgeous- huge open space and there's a section in the back where you can see the chefs bustling around! They have outdoor heaters for the people eating outside on the patio too.Staff: Our waiter was super nice and answered any questions we had regarding the menu. He came often to refill our waters too!Food: I have to come back for the ARANCINI because they ran out. But the GARLIC BREAD was insane- it's a must get! I think they put horseradish in the butter but it blew my mind. The ITALIAN MEATBALLS are heftyyy so unless you love meat, I would pass it over. The pasta was cooked al dente and the sauce was really nice too but I think I would try a different pasta next time.Price: The price was actually extremely reasonable for the amount of food we were getting! I think we brought home more leftovers than the food we actually ate there.Wait: We came there around 6PM and it was an hour wait before we were seated so yeah, be prepared to wait.
Be the first to ReplyNorth Italia is a solid restaurant with immaculate vibes.
The interior is so pretty and aesthetic and I often see groups coming here for birthdays and other special occasions. Reservations are available on OpenTable! When I come here for lunch or dinner, I usually go for the pizzas but the pastas are also great! Everything on the menu is good and you can't really go wrong. I will say, there have been times when my pizza comes out much later than the rest of my group's food (like 30-45 minutes) but they will usually try to compensate by comping the pizza or offering a complimentary side. I highly recommend also checking out their weekday happy hour. The prices are unbeatable and the cacio e Pepe pizza and sangria are otherworldly. I would not really recommend coming here for their weekend brunch though. I found that their brunch foods are pretty subpar considering others in the area like Tableau, Toast, and Poached. While the food is very photogenic, the bread was stale, the hash browns were unflavorful and hard rather than crispy with a soft interior. No one in our group liked the brunch food other than the star dish: the banana coffee cake. I would come to brunch again just for this dish! It was so good and the caramelized banana complimented the cake perfectly. I HIGHLY recommend to order it to share if you ever find yourself at brunch here. Overall, a good restaurant for date night! Beautiful interior and generally a well rounded menu.

Wow i'm very impressed with this place, from the ambiance, to the architecture, to the food and service - well done. Now to preface I can probably count on one hand how many times i've been truly impressed with a restaurant and felt it was well rounded in it's 5 star rating. I've been in the restaurant industry for a decade so I find my standards are much higher than the average person but this place truly impressed me. The only detractor was the miscommunication with the hosts, we were quoted 45 minutes and then when I asked at the 45 minute mark they said they quoted us an hour and half which was not true, we simply would have left if that was the case. We got in at around 70 mins wait so not too bad, I know how stressful hosting can be so I understand but because they had so many hosts they were getting their wires crossed clearly. They also weren't the friendliest bunch with the exception of Lauren. For some reason hosts always have the most attitude in any restaurant and I know as a server who deals with hosts lol. On to the food, we started with the white truffle garlic bread and oh my god was it delicious. I got the short rip pasta myself but it was far too salty and they kindly made me something else. I instead ate the prosciutto pizza which should have been my first choice to begin with, it was absolutely amazing and I enjoyed every bite. I also tried some of my mom's chicken pesto which was delicious. I'd say the best thing they have is the pizza though so definitely go that route. We had two desserts, the butter cake and the bambolini, both were delicious but would definitely love to try the tiramisu next time. Butter cake needs the ice cream on it because the cake alone is quite dry but that's expected. The build of the restaurant is really beautiful and as someone who loves design it really met all my aesthetic needs. Loved the plants and all the windows, very nice place to sit and talk too and definitely a great date spot. The service was immaculate, the managers, a woman in particular ( didn't get her name) were so nice about making me a different dish and even gave us a dessert on the house and made my mom's birthday a great experience. Our server Chris was very nice and accommodating. Overall amazing experience and we'll definitely be back.

I went for dinner her March 5 to celebrate my birthday the food tasted great the service was fine. About 5-6 hours later is when the hell started. With severe abdominal pain and to put it nicely, a very painful colon cleanse, I ended up in the Kaiser ER were I stayed until Wednesday ! My family and I shared everything EXCEPT the arugula salad that I ate all myself. Per doctors orders, I was not to return ti work until March 14 and thank goodness because it took that long to recover! It seems to me salads from here are not washed properly an perhaps rushed out to customers.
Be the first to ReplyNorth Italia is a mostly solid experience.
Had a salad that was a little too salty and some other the dishes were great or okay. Would check it out again in the future.
