North Italia Irvine Reviews from The Last Year
Hospitality all around , amazing service from everyone I
Hospitality all around , amazing service from everyone I interacted , the bartenders during lunch time were extremely nice and helpful, friendly and professional;) the food was delicious and the cocktails were phenomenal!!! Love it love it love it
I don't know.
.. North just cannot seem to impress me. I've been around 3 times now, and I am consistently underwhelmed. The wait is far too long for the food. I think its location and ambiance are what keeps it highly attractive. But if you're looking for the best Italian food in the area, this is not the place for you.
Italian monday
Was in the area and popped by for dinner. This place was packed and bustling and it was a monday evening Very good welcome from the get go, and consistently good service throughout dinner. Good split pea soup and pasta bolognese
Food was delicious! Loved the calamari and prosciutto
Food was delicious! Loved the calamari and prosciutto asparagus bruschetta. Dee was very sweet at the front and easy going when putting our name down.
White truffle bread 3.
5/5: the truffle taste was prominent however it was so hard/crispy that it was cutting up the roof of my mouth Spicy rigatoni vodka 4/5: honestly wished the noodles were a little bit softer. Hot honey & prosciutto pizza 3/5: wish there was more sauce as the pizza bread was so dry. The hot honey was good though Bombolini 4/5: it seemed similar to a Beignet and was tasty however it took like 30 min for it to come out Highly recommend you reserve beforehand as it can become packed.
We went for an after graduation celebration last Friday.
Food is great and service is excellent. We sat at the patio which is nice and cool. We love the experience and we will be back.
Drinks on point.
Liked the atmosphere. It's a very big resturaunt. Only got the bruschetta which was okay. It's not really an intimate dining experience but it's good
This restaurant has been so popular so the noise actually
This restaurant has been so popular so the noise actually was expected. Food and service are very good and price is reasonable.
The worst.
... Worst... Worst experience. Such a racist place it is. We had a reservation at 7:15 but the lady at the entrance offered us seating on the outside, she said 5 minutes to set up the table. We waited till 8 PM with our 16 months baby but still no response. They were seating all Americans but not us. When I went to ask, the lady doesn't have guts to see my face and was seeing her freaking iPad. NOT FAIR. NOT ACCEPTABLE.
One of my favorite place.
Food tastes amazing and made fresh. We ordered the pesto pasta, Margherita pizza, braised short ribs lumache and for dessert affogato and everything was amazing. Service was excellent as well.
Pro: Helpful service, bar to table with ease, clean
Pro: Helpful service, bar to table with ease, clean bathroom. Con: Parking hell, nothing special with food and drinks. Came here with clients. Place was packed on Friday as expected, but the staff from greeter to bar to waiting staff was all cheerful and helpful. After we got drinks at the bar, the greeter moved us to the our table. Gin Up - so so, too much ice. Angels Rye - my favorite drink of the night. Bolognese, gluten free pasta - one of us is gluten free, pretty good Funghi pizza with Italian sausage - not good Calamari Fritti - good sauce, soggy calamari Spicy Salami pizza - not spicy Roasted Porchetta - needs more oil - got it from waiter Seasonal Salad and Salmon - fav dish of the night Lemon Drop - no sugar rim? Bourbon Old Fashion - skip T Gresy Barbera - good enough, this isn't on the restaurant Salted Caramel Budino - OUTSTANDING Caramel Apple Butter Cake - dry So it wasn't bad, but wasn't great. Not really a must eat place but won't kill you to eat there. Parking is a mess, good luck.
The best Italian food
Great atmosphere, service was fantastic. Food was too good. Everything we tried was great. They also have a great happy hour.
In all honesty, I came here expecting pretty good food.
However, I have to admit that my expectations were unfortunately not met. The food had somewhat of a good presentation, but unfortunately the most important part, the taste, wasn't so good. Food was bland and boring. It is pretty overrated & the reviews are glazing.
Didn't mind waiting to be seated, however it didn't make
Didn't mind waiting to be seated, however it didn't make sense when people who are walk-ins come in after you've checked in and they are seated before someone who has reservations. Compared to places like Osteria Mozza or Cucina the food lacked flavor for the price you were paying not to mention the service. The atmosphere was good and the place was clean. Service never checked had to ask to order or water or pay the bill.
Food, service and ambience all excellent.
The server was very friendly and helpful without being too much. Food was outstanding. We sat at the outside patio which was luxurious yet relaxed.

My kids surprised me and took me to North Italia in Irvine
My kids surprised me and took me to North Italia in Irvine for Mother's Day. Food was delicious! It was the best pasta I've had! Our server, Gabriel, made it extra special. He was in on the surprise and went above and beyond to make it the best experience. I was brought to tears! Thank you, Gabriel! I'll never forget it!
North Italia in Irvine is a good concept poorly delivered.
The restaurant has a fun, bright, and lively feel. The menu looks good and the floor staff are all friendly. Great start. However, despite sharing food allergies with the staff our food was delivered carelessly with the allergens we communicated. When it was replaced without the allergens, the food was raw and runny and we were charged for those corrections. The waitress did fix the check for us and she tried to make up for it with a good personality. On her own she would be rated high but the kitchen staff and poor management reaction to the many problems deserve at best one . It's the waitresses effort that boosted them to two stars. The edible food was OK but nothing like it looked online. My friend received soggy fried calamari that was delivered very late. My smoked salmon avocado toast tasted ok but had barely any avocado or salmon on it and two rounds of inedible deliveries were ridiculous. Carelessness seems to be common across the store except for waitress staff trying to compensate for an otherwise poorly delivered good concept. Management offered us a free dessert on our next visit all of which includes the same allergen we were trying to avoid. Needless to say we do not anticipate returning to North Italia and if you care about your food and management experience you should second guess this place too.
Food was ok for price point service was exceptional it was
Food was ok for price point service was exceptional it was busy but everything was executed well. Drinks were ok. Overall ok experience
Great location.
Super great staff. Worst food I've ever had. The breakfast sandwich was absolutely disgusting and almost inedible. Most of our large party ordered it .... But did not eat it. Who ever came up the breakfast sandwich combo needs to find another job. Again cool spot ... great staff. I've been there twice before and the food was good. Maybe the chef was having a bad day.
I eat here often and always bring out of town guests
I eat here often and always bring out of town guests because the food is always so great! We love it ! Yesterday however , I placed an order to go, arrived and waited what was really an unreasonable amount of time, and was shocked that my pizza was ice cold and had no real toppings. I also ordered a gem salad with dressing on the side as was given a very small amount of dressing that was not enough to dress the salad . Although the lettuce was fresh, it was unwashed as the lettuce tasted of grainy dirt! I was so disappointed. I do hope that this was just a bad day in the kitchen.
I had not been here in a few years but wanted to celebrate
I had not been here in a few years but wanted to celebrate a friend's bday so we chose this restaurant. I was fasting and starving so maybe I just ordered the wrong things to my liking but I did not feel the food was good. I'm not saying it was horrible, I'm just saying for the amount they charge, the food should be ahhmazing and I left not wanting to go back nor wanting to recommend this place to others. Tomato & Burrata - not bad but the tomatoes had a strange taste. Calamari Fritti - Not a fan of the heavy breading. Usually most places use panko or other type of bread crumbs for breading. Sauces were good. Prosciutto Pizza - Three ingredients. Not much goat cheese on it. I should have ordered another pizza. The service is great and dessert carrot cake was good. The outdoor seating is nice except you could hear every firetruck, siren, that passes by. Dirty outdoor table seating where we sat. Do yourself a favor and try Angelina's Pizzeria Napoletana in Irvine for upscale Italian too and tell me I am wrong and judge for yourself. Very disappointed. I really hoped for more.
A Chain Restaurant That Is Not Even Close to Real Italian
This is a very popular spot, with good service and a seasonal menu. Parking is, to say the lease, challenging and if you want valet, it will cost you $10. Not a good start. The restaurant is open and very nice. However, the name is very misleading - the food was more like Southern California fusion than real Italian. For example, an Italian salad was a salad with pepperoncini and some salami. The eggplant had some sort of strange spice that caused a rash on the lips. And the pizza was...well, pizza, but with more salt than you ever would see in Italy. One more point - what real Italian restaurant would not bring bread and olive oil to the table? That, plus relatively high prices for their menu items, was disappointing. Clearly not a favorite. If you want Italian food, try elsewhere.
Great Italian food great service!
The restaurant was super busy. The staff tried to their hardest to get us in for a table of seven and was able to accommodate us. The food in the service was fantastic. Definitely, this is a spot that you should check out if you’re in the Irvine area! Matthew, the bartender has an excellent recommendation on drinks!
Inhospitable bar
Let's start on a positive note. I definitely recommend sitting in the dining area. The servers work well as a team, dropping off dishes and attending to customers' needs. Isabel was an outstanding server, and all who helped during our meal were friendly and efficient. The prosciutto asparagus bruschetta, beef carpaccio, spicy rigatoni vodka, and squid ink pasta were superb. However, the calamari and farmers market board were not memorable. The bar is a different situation altogether. We started in the bar while waiting for our table. The tall and short male bartenders did not smile once at any of the bar patrons. They were not overwhelmed with a crowd whatsoever (never a good reason to be stone faced when serving customers), but they didn't make any small talk or seem to want to be at work. The tall male bartender actually held his hand out to wait for my BF to pull out his credit card because he wasn't busy? Not sure, but it was bizarre. Put the bill in a glass and chat with my BF or serve another patron or smile or be normal...geez. This bar experience was enough for me to want to leave the restaurant entirely. However, my former student invited me here, so I had to stay. People go to a bar/the bar area to imbibe and have a fun time. However, my Bloody Mary was not great great, and you have already read how UNfun my experience was at the bar. I was so relieved when our table was ready. Thanks to the latter experience, lunch was salvaged.

The site doesn't have resources to properly execute a reservation transfer. Some places allow it however the best bet is to open a chat on the listing from the seller and communicate there

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
