Naifs London Reviews from The Last Year
Great hotel - would recommend
The breakfast options were brilliant and really catered for everyone. The room we had was lovely, comfy bed, bright and airy and despite being on a main road it was not as loud as we expected. The location is brilliant for both walking to some of the museums and Harrods but also really close to a tube station if you wish to go further afield. The staff were helpful in answering questions and on arrival we were greeted with a treat given that we were celebrating getting married - a really lovely touch :)
Avoid
We booked a premium room for one night in April 24 and one positive was the location which is ideal for the underground. Unfortunately the rest of the stay was incredibly disappointing. The main concern was that there were numerous small bugs in the bath/shower. We only noticed this late on at night when we returned to our room, otherwise would have requested a move straight away. The room looked nothing like the pictures on the website, so please be careful when booking as the pictures show refurbished rooms, and it appears that not all rooms have been refurbished. Our room was dirty and extremely outdated. There were stains all over the carpets and the bathroom was dirty. We were placed in a room next to the elevators and did not get any sleep whatsoever due to the noise from the lift all night. A very minor point but still relevant- the nespresso station only had one caffeinated and one decaf pod, as well as one packet of biscuits- it would have been nice to have had 2 of each given there were 2 of us in the room. Not really what we expected for an 'premium' room that we had paid more for. We raised the point re the bugs and the noise from the lift when checking out and did reveive an apology but the staff member showed no concern about bugs being in the shower (I did mention that I had a video that I could show them). Have since raised a complaint with Raddison Blu but yet to hear back from them 4 weeks later (hence why I am now writing this review unfortunately). Overall incredibly disappointing stay- will be avoiding this hotel for any future trips to London.
A jewel in the Radisson crown
This is my go to hotel whenever I travel to London, which is usually twice a year. Firstly, the location of this hotel is really unbeatable as it’s across the street from the Gloucester Road tube station. It’s also near a grocery store, pharmacy and cafés are all few minutes walking distance. Just a short walk away are the Victoria and Albert Museum, Natural History Museum, science Museum, and Harrods! As I was getting out of my taxi to climb the few stairs to the entrance, Aleksandr grabbed my cases and greeted me by my name, even though he had never met me, but he said he was expecting me! My room was super comfortable and quiet ,and it was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable. They equipped the room with a coffee maker with pods and also a kettle, with the variety of teas, cocoas etc. which is really a nice touch. I had asked for a front- facing room which I got! Plus the room was spotlessly clean. A couple of times when I needed help adjusting the temperature in the room and the television a staff mender came in a few minutes I always get breakfast included and Cecelia who is the manager of the restaurant always seats me where I want, which is near a window. The buffet is really exciting as there are so many varieties of delicious food and all temptingly presented. Lots of Fresh Pastries and fancy fruits too. The hot food selection is really awesome and I have never seen grilled mushroom caps so big! I appreciate the little touches of special things to put on your cereal, such as toasted, coconut, various nuts, and various honeys, etc. There is a separate menu which you can order off as well. I really like to relax when I’m in the Restaurant in the morning and Cesar must have refilled my coffee about five times. The staff is so fast and helpful. I always stay at the Vanderbuilt about 10 days so I get to know the staff in the restaurant who are all lovely Including Minh,Vjay, Lita, Cesar And of course, the amazing Cecelia. I’m really looking forward to my next visit and I would never stay anywhere else.
Don't Bother
We would rather have stayed in a Premier Inn than this establishment. The rooms are cell like. So small. The rabbit warren hallways to get to the rooms are so claustrophobic due to the narrowness and baking hot due to no air condition. Our room cost almost £300 and was possibly the worst room have ever stayed in. Save your money. Go elsewhere. The Radisson brand is really not what it makes itself out to be.
London Vanderbilt Hotel.
The hotel has a great location. It is clean and comfortable. The best thing was the staff. Helpful, welcoming and always cheerful. A special shout out to Cecilia in the breakfast room. She dealt with the crowds in a personal friendly way and made it feel like home. I’d definitely stay there again. A gentle comment to chef: the omelette was undercooked and the breakfast bakery goods and cheeses could do with a bit more variety. Thank you for a great stay.
Very small room in good location
Finding the hotel was not a Problem, very convenient Location with Tube Station within 100 m. Friendly Staff at Check-in, however, assigned room was smelling (smoke?), so we asked for an alternative room. This room was facing the Main street and seemed very much smaller to the assigned room. The bathroom offers all what is described, but in a very very Small bathroom (reminded me of my Student bath, but not 4 Star Hotel). The room had a Small bed for 2 persons, looked more like a room for single occupancy. Since we stayed a whole week we would have expected a better choice for the 2nd room as it is not our fault, that someone smoked in the assigned room. I was many times in City Hotels, where rooms are small, but this would Not reflect 4 stars or the Radisson Brand
Perfect stay
Stayed there for almost 10 days in the start of April. We had booked the normal room initially for my family of 4 and though they arranged the sofa beds before our arrival we just found it too cramped for us with our luggage. Its perfect for a couple or a family with small kids. But I have one teenager and another in his pre teens so it was just too tiny. We then upgraded to the suite and it was the best decision. Big spacious room and bath. The rooms were always cleaned and tidied. A special shout out to Stephanie at the reception who from day 1 helped us with so many things... getting the suite ready, letting us keep our luggage in the storage room, arranging for a cab when we were in a hurry as there was a road block due to an accident, etc..Another shout out goes to Cecilia who is in charge of the breakfast buffet at Scoff n Banter at the hotel. Always smiling and so pleasant to meet every morning. The breakfast buffet was fantastic and my boys really loved the spread. The service of the entire team at breakfast was exceptional. This hotel is just a hop away from the Gloucester Station which made all our travels very easy. Perfect location, professional staff, excellent service. Thankyou!
Hotel with a great location.
The location was excellent, couple of minutes walk to underground station with the lines from Heathrow and circle/district lines to centrum (20 min to tower). Lot's of different type restaurants nearby. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good typical English breakfast with warm dishes. The room was the one which lowered stars. Bit old and has seen the best days. No separate bed lights only normal lights up on the roof. And no electric outlet side bed. The Windows are not so tight. In the wind the outer window banged and caused some noise. Also traffic noises came from street side rooms. ( Have been earlier on same hotel and then the room windows wwre inside and was quiet)
Best front of house staff……ever.
The Vanderbilt is ideally located for exploring London, right next to Gloucester street tube station, and is exactly what you’d expect from Radisson Blu hotel, immaculately clean, the rooms without being huge are big enough, the beds are very comfortable with the best pillows ever, the one down side was when we walked into the room there was a strong smell of drains, but with a full schedule ahead of us we hoped it was temporary and carried on with the trip. Upon returning to the hotel at 11:15pm we went to the bar only to be told the bar was closed, we were not offered the opportunity to have a drink as hotel guests, which seemed usual ? The breakfast at the hotel was superb and set us up for the day. I’ve stayed in a lot of Radisson Blu hotels and this one did not disappoint, except for the drain smell, which was even worse upon our return in the evening, we did report this to the hotel staff in the morning and they seemed genuinely shocked by it. The most stand out part of the visit to the hotel was the front of house reception staff, Stephanie and Janet who were two extremely pleasant, polite and helpful young ladies, and a credit to the hotel. Would I stay here again…..definitely, despite to drains which I’m sure would be a temporary issue and not enough to spoil our visit.
American Family in Kennsington
If you are planning a trip to London, you should really make this your hotel of choice. The staff is amazing, they are friendly, curious and professional! we had a medical emergency (off hotel property) while visiting London, the staff told us what hospital to go to, made every attempt to assist us and make the rest of our stay as easy as possible. Also, go and see Cecelia who runs the morning breakfast! She is amazing, gives the best service, and cares about the satisfaction of her customers! the hotel is just really great!
A great place to stay!
The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful, and you will feel welcome here. Their restaurant is excellent, and they serve a hearty and delicious breakfast buffet. It is also in a convenient location very close to the Tube, museums, and shops. This is an older building, and the layout of the floors can sometimes be a little difficult to navigate with big bags (there is an elevator, but for some of the rooms you have to use some steps to get there after you reach your floor). Otherwise the rooms are comfortable and functional, and the staff do a good job looking after things. It is a great place to stay.
One Night Stay- Dissapointing
There was a terrible drain like smell in the room, (306). In addition the double bed mattress was too large for the two single beds pushed together to make the bigger bed. They did not meet in the middle which left a foot long space between them. This meant there was a big dip all the way down the middle of the mattress. This was not discovered until late at night on returning from our night out. Reported both on check out the next morning and while a breakfast was offered, we could not accept and it did not make up for a disappointing stay.
Average experience but perfect location
We stayed here for just one night as we were attending an event at the Natural history museum at night. This hotel is perfectly situated for the museum. We were lucky to also get street parking on a yellow line after 6.30pm though the parking bays run from 10pm to 8.30am. The staff who checked us in and checked us out were polite and friendly and we were given a room upgrade which included robe and slippers. The room was dated and needs improvements especially the bathroom with large cracks in the sink, stains on the floor by the toilet and more thorough cleaning as there were hairs in the bath. The floors make creaking noises and the walls are very thin you can clearly hear the people next door. You can also hear the traffic passing as our room was facing the street on the ground floor. However, the bed and pillows were super comfortable.
Comfortable and well located
The room and the bathroom were spacious. The beds were super comfy with enough pillows. The hot water was really hot and the water pressure was strong. The room we had was on the main road, but we were not bothered by any noise from the cars on the street or people on the sidewalk. The hairdryer didn't work on the first morning there. I put in a call to the front desk and the issue was solved by a replacement within a half an hour of my call. Breakfast was plentiful and good. The a la carte items were a nice addition. Every staff member that we interacted with was welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. It seems as if the room was only partially renovated. The beds/bedding was new, but the carpets, curtains, and desk could use an upgrade. The safe in the room did not work.
A pleasant stay in London
The hotel location is convenient, staff very helpful, good value for money. We had a pleasant stay in London. The hotel has good facilities and the staff is very courteous. Only note, the pillow selection could be improved to provide a better quality of sleep
Our home away from home in London
In London, you have a lot of options for places to stay—you are spoilt for choice. Yet, time and time again, we always return to this lovely hotel. Why? The location is central and close to my favorite museums, like the V&A 😍. The rooms are well appointed with form mattresses and crisp linens. The entire hotel is clean and constantly being cleaned. The food. Hotel food often appears as an afterthought but not here. Don’t miss their breakfast buffet. It’s epic and the quality of food and service is tip top. Last—what really makes a hotel shine is its staff. People make the experience. Staff are well trained and go the extra mile. Ruth checked us in and saw we were weary from a long journey and immediately got us an early check in and even went to get us coffee. Similarly, Vinayak in the dining room also went above and beyond for us on more than one occasion. Vinayak and Ruth are true hospitality professionals and it’s because of staff like them that we are so loyal to this hotel.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
