Luk Yu Tea House Reviews
Cornstarch and mushrooms.
You can pay $800 per person to taste cornstarch with canned mushrooms. Everything contains cornstarch and canned mushrooms, and we ordered quite a few dishes. The rice is overcooked. Maybe find a restaurant that can cook better, especially for the pr
Not recommended
Not recommended. Food okay (chicken was good but was the only thing and very pricy) overall very pricey, and service very poor (they bring you the check before you have finished) The ambient is nice as a bit old style but is not worth - not sure why
One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in KL.
All day "yum cha" dim sum in an upscale setting. It's a little pricey but well worth the experience I think. The fried yam chicken dumplings are well done, and the mango pomelo sago pudding is a must-have. Service is attentive.
Overpriced.
Food is ok but extremely overpriced. X5 the price of other dim sum restaraunts that offer the same quality. Skip it! Total rip off!
Old World Let Down
This place was recommended to us to get a local experience. The atmosphere is vintage, as was the staff. However, the service was not particularly helpful or friendly. The tea was good, but the food was mediocre and vastly overpriced. The kicker wa
A good experience for both locals and foreigners
Talking about traditional Chinese restaurants, there are not that many remaining in town. One of the most famous is Luk Yu Tea House in Central. We have visited many years back, and today we return to Stanley Street to experience the historic vibe on
Overhyped. Everything is OK at best.
The food is OK at best. I have way better dim sum in other dim sum house than here. This is very overhyped. Eating here gives you the vintage atmosphere experience that is it. Nothing else really stands out or extraordinary. This is one of those
Disappointing
A pleasant room that has some age and character. The service was fine but the food was poor, surprisingly poor. Weโve eaten well in general during our time here in Hong Kong but I canโt recommend this place.
Recently in KL we had dim sum at Luk You tea house.
We live near NYC and any decent dim sum required a trip into Chinatown or Flushing, Queens. Also requires a long wait almost an hour or more. So this restaurant is high end and take reservations. Food quality and freshness is five stars! Absolutely d
Worth a visit for the ambience, but don't expect to get what you ordered!
Luk Yu has a classic old Hong Kong ambience, and most of the patrons appeared local. The dim sum is of of above average quality. The main problem is the service ..the waiters are very off-hand, and of the three savory dim sum dishes we ordered onl
I would never go pack even if they paid me!
Very old fashion restaurant for locals and Chinese tourists that should be completely avoid if you want to enjoy a dim sum lunch and donโt want to waste your money, and your time. I love eating and I am not picky but here I literally did not dare t
Pricey Dim Sum
PRICEY FOR ORDINARY DIM SUM The interior decor of this dim sum restaurant located at Central area of Hong Kong is beautiful. I ordered six types of dim sum and they are tasty. Of these 6, only the liver with meat dish is more unique. However, the pr
Go elsewhere!
Overpriced and underwhelming! Highly recommend you skip it, there are just so many better choices in HK. Dim som was fine, but nothing memorable or spectacular! Here for a week, this is the only restaurant we regret choosing !
Donโt bother
Service was really weird. I was told there is no table available but the other side of the area had empty tables. I saw locals coming in after and sat at the table so I thought it was only for regular customers. After waiting for awhile, another wait
One of the best dim sum in Hong Kong
A friend recommended me this place which is one of the most poplular dim sum restaurants in Hong Hong. It is within walking distance from the Central station. They do not take bookings so try not to come during peak hours. The siew mai, pork ribs, be
An Unforgettable Old Hong Kong Experience
Excellent ambience of a nostalgic era of old Hong Kong. Food is typical old Cantonese style. A HK institution & a must try experience. Iโve brought my children , family and friends here for the past few decades & itโs always a pleasure,
Refined dining in a gorgeous setting.
The all-day dim sum menu selection is perhaps on the smaller side but each offering is well-considered and crafted. We ordered the fried rice with salted egg yolk (the salted egg really elevates this simple dish!), strip loin in special sauce, crispy
Lovely food and good service in old world charm Lok Yu
Table of ten casual business lunch. I was hosting the occasion and the restaurant did everything right for me. A good table ready to go for the lunch. They let me set up place card names and the waiters came over to familerise themselves with what I
Yum cha
A traditional yum cha or dim sum restaurant in Central. Busy during lunchtime due to office crowd but itโs only a short wait. Food is pretty good. Service not as bad as feared
Rude cashier with arrogant attitude
My mom and I had a nice day visiting Hong Kong, trying popular restaurants and foods. After we had dinner, we walked passed this tea house which my mom wish to try. There was supposed to be a $7 change. The waiter never brought us the change back.
Skip โฆ horrible service with passable food
Finally decided to come here after hearing some positive reviews. Got in and sat downโฆ an elderly server asked for choice of tea. Asked for the typical blends which werenโt in stock. Server decided to ignore me and serve an expensive blend only f

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Luk Yu Tea House at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Luk Yu Tea House page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* MaternalRecord73, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $200 bid.
* MaternalRecord73 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to MaternalRecord73 for any questions Peter may have as MaternalRecord73 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* MaternalRecord73 now uses their connections at Luk Yu Tea House to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If MaternalRecord73 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, MaternalRecord73 receives the $200 reward which is credited to MaternalRecord73's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Luk Yu Tea House!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
