A bit cheesy atmosphere but very good food
We’ve been to L’isola twice a couple of years apart. The waiters really pour on the Italian atmosphere to the point of being cheesy but the food is very very good.

The restaurant was busy on a Thursday night. Great ambiance, waitstaff excellent. Drinks and coffees took forever when ordered. At least 20 minutes each time. Food was delicious but be prepared , prices are outrageous even for St Barths. Eggplant app was divine but at 40 euros! Seafood Risotto tasty and well priced. Tiramisu was ok. Enjoyed the food but not sure I would return at this price point and I found the tables are just too close together . I did not enjoying having dinner with strangers.
Be the first to ReplyA great Italian restaurant on a small island where the high life meets
A high class restaurant that could easily be in the center of Milan Professional service, high quality food and prices. High degree of cleanliness and well located in the center of Gustavia. The deserts and especially the ice cream do not meet the standard of the restaurant

As one write-up said, excellent Italian but you will need to raid the Trust Fund! It is VERY expensive, even by St Bart's standards. That said, we certainly had an unforgettable evening. The place was packed (you definitely need to book) and had a great atmosphere. Good service and exceptional food. Parking is difficult in Gustavia but L'Isola does have a small parking lot and offers a valet service.

I came to the restaurant twice on my visit to st barths. The first time was a drunken night after bagatelle and had an amazing tiramisu, the second time was for nye. Both nights, the staff were amazing and the food was great. It’s definitely one of my favourite italian restaurants in the world. Everyone’s so nice and professional.

We returned to St. Barts and had to visit one of our favorite restaurants on the island. Wonderful Italian food with authentic ingredients from Italy coupled with excellent service is the recipe for an amazing meal. L'Isola remains on our list of favorite restaurants. One of the best in Gustavia,

The place is cute and staff super friendly. The atmosphere is casual and pizza (which we had it is yummy! Big pizza feeds 4 to 5 people easily!

I am not a big Italian food girl but this was amazing. From the minute we stepped into the restaurant, the warmth and the hospitality is 10 out of 10. The food was to perfection. Everything the waiter recommended was delicious. I would definitely come back. Thank you for your hospitality.
Be the first to ReplyBest of St. Barthélemy
We were advised that this restaurant was too expensive and not that great - WRONG! We had our best meal in St. Barthélemy here and had some of the best and most accurate Italian food ever. The spaghetti bolognese was incredible- homemade pasta, sauce with meat that was cooked more than 24 hours, beautiful flavors and just the right amount of food. We had a ricotta and spinach ravioli and a traditional veal scaloppini. Wine selection was great, service outstanding, and it was the cheapest meal we had on St. Barthélemy. We’ll be back!

On a small island there are only so many restaurants. We waited an extra 40 minutes for our table since it wasn’t ready, they covered two rounds of drinks.. nice change of pace from French food. Very good Italian, great ambiance, but beware the most expensive restaurant on the island by far.

Every time I eat at a restaurant I make myself notes. This was the second time we ate here. The first time was ok but this time was just pathetic. I will just share the notes I made for myself: Don’t go here again! It was just ok and snotty waiter. He coughed on our food at least 3 times. He spilled drink down my sisters back. He screwed up daughters very simple pasta order. We had to ask for next round of drinks after empty cocktails glasses sat there for 10 minutes. Just go somewhere else. Let people who don’t know better go here.
Be the first to ReplyAbusive price increase
L’Isola raised their prices an average of over 30% just before the year end holiday. I went their last week and was SHOCKED at the prices I saw, having been there twice in early December.
I’ve been going to this restaurant for over 15 years and although they have always been very expensive, their prices are now LUDICROUS and ABUSIVE.
The veal Milanese which use to be €55 is now a WHOPPING €80, that’s $90. I had the veal Milanese at Le Sereno yesterday for €55 and it was spectacular.
The lobster pasta is now €50.
The pasta with an INFINITESIMAL amount of Poutarga is now €52.
The TINY artichokes salad is now an ABSURD €42.
I don’t know about you but I don’t appreciate being ROBBED when I go out to dinner.
Management clearly thinks that prices are infinitely elastic on this island. NOT TRUE. People are sick and tired of being taken for a ride.
STOP INSULTING YOUR CUSTOMERS BY THINKING YOU CAN CHARGE THEM ANYTHING.
Best Restaurant in St. Barth's!
My wife and I dined at L'Isola the first night of our honeymoon in St. Barth's. The staff did not know we were there for a special occasion, but treated us like gold. The food was absolutely amazing, and the service was top notch. We did not do any appetizers, just entrees and left very satisfied. We had veal and pasta and both were done perfectly by the chef. Anyone staying in St. Barth's MUST go to L'Isola before leaving!

Whenever you dine at L'Isiola you see that the owners know what they are doing. Profesional hosts serving outstanding Italian food. The room is classy and elegant, with round tables for parties of 4, perfectly trained waiters who know what the Chef prepares. No dish is ever bad, no wine too expensive, no permanent water refilling !
My friends who came the first time said: It is a CLASS ACT. If you want to dine without deception go to L'Isola.
SUPERB as always!
My wife and I absolutely love this amazing restaurant. Every time we visit beautiful St. Barths we always come here at least once. On our last visit the food and the service was superb. Our waiter, Marco was fantastic. He was extremely attentive and made several recommendations for food and wine and every thing he suggested was perfection. Always had service with a smile (even though he had to wear a mask). This is probably one of our favorite dinner spots in St. Barths. In fact, we like it so much we decided to go back tonight as it is our last night on the island.

Feel like to be in Italy, everything was perfect little bit slow
It’s difficult for a such a small island to find manpower
Decent Food - Poor Service
We went to L'Isola for dinner after having had so many amazing meals on St. Barths. The food was above average- not noteworthy, but at the end of our meal, one of the people in our party wanted a digestif. Since he was the only one in our party, the waiter came over and asked if we could take it at the bar. I could understand if we had been lingering, but this was one of the fastest meals we have had here in St. Barths at 1.5 hours in length. The waiter was extremely nice about it, but it was a poor way to end the meal and it felt classless. There are so many terrific places on St. Barth's with impeccable service and amazing food, but our time at L'Isola was not one of those experiences. If you are craving Italian food while here there are other more worthy options.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent as always, delicious risotto!
This was so good, we dined here twice during our vacation. Marco was our server both times and was busy but attentive and helpful. You could tell he really enjoyed his job!
The boar, pumpkin, and bleu cheese risotto was absolutely OUTSTANDING. Please never take this off the menu or alter it as we have had it on our previous visit as well, and it was just as delicious as we remembered!
The rigatoni was quite good as was the spinach ravioli. My husband had a lobster pasta special that was excellent. The fettuccini bolognese was his favorite and SO good.
We will be back again on our next trip!
