Frenchie Paris Reviews from The Last Year
We came here for a date night while we were in Paris, and
We came here for a date night while we were in Paris, and had an absolutely amazing dinner. As you probably know, this is a pre fixe only restaurant, but they have across the street an area where you can get wine and snacks. We did the main restaurant, the prefix menu. It is a five course meal with an additional two or three courses that are not counted as part of the five. You can do a basic wine pairing for €70 or an elite wine pairing for 115. We opted for the higher level and we did not regret it. The meal itself was €140 per person, and honestly was worth every penny. The five courses were a scallop dish, a vegetable ravioli, a skate fish, a rabbit, and a kiwi dessert. The service, as you can, imagine, was absolutely stellar. The staff were kind, spoke perfect English, and super helpful. The entire meal took just over two hours and was absolutely an incredibly enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend this for a nice dinner out if you are in Paris.

Excellent food and service! This was one of our high points while in Paris. The staff made our visit extra special!
Let's all say it together.
The service and food are amazing. We were treated to a spectacular meal during our stay in Paris. I can't say enough about how well-prepared each dish was! The wine pairing was spot on too! Don't waste your time looking at "additional" options. You simply must get a reservation and treat yourself to a delicious experience! The space allows for plenty of room to have a wonderful dining experience. Don't hesitate... make the booking a soon a you can!!! Thank you to the wonderful front-of-the-house staff!
Speechless
Never ever had meal like this before Transformative Spectacular restaurant If you’ve eaten here, you e had THAT meal in Paris.
Exquisite
Friends who had visited Paris earlier in the year recommended this restaurant and we went to celebrate my mother in law's birthday and had the most exquisite meal. Everything we tried was so delicious and the service was of the same high standard as the food - very attentive and helpful. The wine our waiter recommended was a perfect pairing for our meal.

David's pastries and croissants hold up to anything I've had in France or Italy. His cold brew is so good I drink it Year round.
The food and service were good.
No huge complaint. Not the worst meal I have had abd the best. I would give it 4.5 stars if I had that option.
Really nice ambience.
. nice, casual, yet upscale feel. We sat at the bar so could see all of the intricate food prep! All of the dishes were beautifully presented & tasted great. They even offered gluten free bread to my friend who has a gluten intolerance. Great service, great food, great ambience.. what more do you need?! To get a reservation you need to be on their site right at 10 am (Paris time) 3 weeks in advance.
Réservations are a MUST! We booked 3 weeks to the day
Réservations are a MUST! We booked 3 weeks to the day when that day was opened. Had the second seating so we went across the street for a couple of glasses of champagne before we were seated. The tasting menu rotates seasonally so I wont go into the dishes but each dish was prepared superbly. We did the accompanying wine pairs and it was all excellent. Definitely fine dining with a bit more casual atmosphere. This was our favorite dinner of the trip.
Unique and amazing
We dined at Frenchie for the chef’s tasting paired with the premium wine selections. There are two seatings per evening, and we were there for the first. Reservations are not easy to get, and the price is fairly steep. However, the experience was very memorable and a highlight of our trip to Paris. The restaurant’s decor is simple, not at all “fancy,” but comfortable. Our table gave us a partial view into the kitchen. I must say part of the enjoyment of dining here is watching how the well the chefs work together—it’s like watching a well choreographed performance. While very busy, all chefs seemed calm and in command of their duties. The food is unique and delicious, consisting of multiple courses that are well described by the server. While each course seems deceptively light, by the time the meal is over, you’re stuffed. My only comment is that because there are multiple courses and limited time per seating, there were a few times I felt a bit rushed (for instance, not finished with one glass of wine before the next selection was poured). The food was superior to the wine served, which was only average considering the price of the premium pairing. Nonetheless, I would recommend this restaurant if you enjoy fine innovative dining.
Elevated French Food that Hit the Spot!
The venue is small and intimate. Not very charming—their wine bar across the alley has more of a vibe. But the food was fantastic. It was supposed to be 5 courses, but with all the little extras, it actually turns out to be 2 courses. Each dish was beautifully presented and most had different components. They poured sauces onto our dishes at the table, which was nice. The meal was worth the price tag of $140 Euro. We ate seafood, lobster tail, and duck. The selection was spot on and the flavors matched all of my usual favorites. The matcha dessert was heaven. I love matcha. The meal was elevated and delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t recommend it enough. It’s still on my mind! Pictures on my insta @loveinmybelly.
American heavy, but good food
Like a west village NYC Resturant, but in Paris. If you want to dine with what seemed to be exclusively Americans, then Frenchie is a good spot. That said, the food is pretty good, the service was at least for us friendly but also very absent at times, our issue is that it is a very American Resturant that reminded us of the places we often go in NYC. If you have limited time in the city, and you want to dine in more authentic Paris surroundings, then look elsewhere.
I don't like make reviews on places that I don't like but
I don't like make reviews on places that I don't like but you have to post the good with the bad. And unfortunately this was not good. Walking in the strong smell of cheese was unpleasant to the senses. Which should have been enough for our group to walk out but we attempted the food anyway. The onion tart was the only decent meal on the table. Everyone was so disappointed I didn't even take photos. The steak wasn't good, the potato pancakes were soft and mushy and the chicken cordon blue was cover in the unpleasant smelling cheese which also did not taste good. Our server was pleasant but had no insight into the disappointment the entire table was experiencing.
Made a reservation online about three weeks out and came
Made a reservation online about three weeks out and came for dinner in August 2023. Won't go too much into detail because the menu rotates, but the 5-course tasting was excellent - everything was super creative, flavorful and fun. A standout was the rosemary sorbet interlude, as well as the chicken course. Service was great, but didn't love that they started herding us out of there the second dessert hit the table so they could prepare for the next seating (we were part of the earlier one). We headed across the street to their wine bar where we happily kept the night going, but the end of the tasting was definitely a little abrupt. 4.5 stars.
Imagine rediscovering your Mom's worst kitchen experiments?
Imagine rediscovering your Mom's worst kitchen experiments? That was the tomato sorbet with foam! Reminded me of my Mom's tomato aspic, only chilled. The two highlights were the chicken and lobster. Otherwise, the food was especially bland and the dishes were unbalanced. A good example involves the chicken. The salty chicken was good but paired with an overly sweet date and apple sauce combo. My wife and I laughed when the dinner started saying "Predict the foam and the smeerings across the plate!" See, we have been to this sort of dinner with Thomas Keller, Graham Elliot and Gordon Ramsay. The genre has grown tired with us. To us, the foam is not food. Finally, all the sauces! Only one - for the chicken - actually tasted like anything. It was shocking because of the waitress' descriptions of capers and fennel and all sorts of flavors. But for us, the sauces did nothing for the dishes. I am an experienced cook and do all the cooking in my house. Last night was a disappointment on many levels. We hate to see people pay so much money for all of the hype only to be disappointed.
Missed Expectations
Visited Frenchie with my family, and this may be controversial, but our visit left us with mixed feelings. The space is intimate, meaning somewhat cramped. The service was commendable and friendly. But the dishes although visually appealing, fell short of expectations. In a city brimming with excellent dining options, regrettably, we won't be returning.
FRENCHIE has lost its French touch
FRENCHIE has lost its French touch. I wish I had read all the reviews before booking because I feel the same way-disappointed ! Three weeks wait to book for an anniversary dinner and then you find out there are two seatings in one night at a French Michelin restaurant ? What’s the next step? Self service? This is a place for tourists now, one visit and you are done. No lingering over your pre dinner cocktail or after dinner drink, you are rushed the whole time because a second sitting is waiting. The food was good but not memorable. Our first course of tomatoes was good although the wine pairing was totally wrong for the dish. There are two wine price levels and in any decent restaurant in France all the wines are quality wines. In the regular pairing none of the wines are over 20 euro a bottle retail. The entire restaurant was having the only choice, 140 Euro tasting menu so it was an automatic flow of service. Don’t linger. The staff felt like they were selling you real estate, asking constantly if the dish was good. The end of the meal was a disappointing chocolate and red pepper cake. I scooped out the red pepper part and the waitress seemed unhappy about it. In a non French move, you are quickly brought the bill without asking for it, and upon looking at it, my husband saw we were billed for an extra aperitif and four wine pairings instead of two. No real apology from the staff, « mistakes happen ». We were tempted to tell the large group of Japanese tourists to check their bill carefully. No sight of the chef the entire night, not a personable experience. Just a restaurant that was good but has lost its vision with the Michelin star.

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
