Fioretta Chicago Reviews from The Last Year
I had the pleasure of celebrating a graduation dinner at
I had the pleasure of celebrating a graduation dinner at Fioretta, an Italian restaurant nestled in the heart of Chicago, and it was nothing short of spectacular. This dining experience has now set the bar incredibly high, easily making it the best Italian food I've had in America. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance struck the perfect chord for our special occasion. The decor was tastefully elegant, blending classic Italian charm with a touch of modern sophistication, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that felt both intimate and festive. The service at Fioretta was impeccable. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and gave excellent recommendations that catered to our tastes and dietary preferences. Each course was served seamlessly, contributing to a smooth and delightful dining experience. Now, onto the star of the show - the food. Every dish that graced our table was a hit. Each recipe carried the authenticity of traditional Italian cuisine while presenting a creative twist that left us pleasantly surprised and thoroughly satisfied. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the presentation was visually appealing. Every bite was a testament to the chef's expertise and passion for Italian cooking. Fioretta is a gem that stands out in Chicago's competitive culinary scene. It is an ideal spot for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply indulge in a remarkable Italian meal. I cannot recommend it highly enough and am already looking forward to my next visit!
The food we ate was excellent.
The Caesar salad, truffle fries, and Brussels sprouts. Their homemade table side bread was delish. We sat in the bar area which was very lively with a live jazz band. The drinks were also very good. A glass of moscato and a ruby martini were decadent with our meal. Unfortunately the meatballs we ordered were raw. They were very visibly pink in the middle. We asked two different waiters if the meatballs were supposed to be pink in the middle. One said they think so. The other told us yes. One of the waiters offered us to take it back but we said no as long as it was supposed to be pink in the middle. However, as we cut into the third meatball it was clearly much more cooked than the other two we had cut into. We second guessed ourselves unfortunately and decided to pass on eating anymore as we were told they were made with pork and ground meat in general shouldn't be eaten raw. It's unfortunate as this place was gorgeous but I see in other reviews this restaurant has issues with cooking their meat. The menu is far too expensive to pay for a dish we couldn't eat a second time! We will not be going back.
Went recently for dinner , great steak and atmosphere ,
Went recently for dinner , great steak and atmosphere , place feels like you are in an old mov steakhouse in Vegas , also get the king crab pasta .
Great seafood , amazing service.
Great wines selection. We were not rushed , the ceased salad was not good , too wet .
Pre-dinner: Valet parking Room: Stylish, modern, warm.
Exhibition kitchen. Beverages: Excellent full beverage program. Food: Properly luxurious. Impressive seafood tower. The tableside presentations were gimmicky but fun. Service: Excellent but we were sitting at the kitchen table. Price: Expensive Value: Low Summary: High-end Italian steakhouse that delivers a high-end experience.
Lobster linguine was delicious! Steak wasn't that special.
Sitting at the bar was enjoyable with live music. Drinks were delicious. We did have a reservation but still had to wait 20 minutes to get seated.
THEY HIRE CRIMINALS
THEIFS!!! I had got carded before ordering my drink, and when I was about to get in my uber I noticed I didn't have my cardholder. (I left it at the Table) / I called them 10 minutes after we had left our table, and they said their crew didn't see anything and they'd give me a call if they found it. I was not taking that for an answer because I KNEW it was there. I went back to the restaurant, and they had told me the same thing." we didn't see anything". FAST FORWARD 1 week later after I had to go get all new cards and a license, My original credit card was attempted to use at Taco Bell.... LIARS AND THEIFS!!!!! Some Service industry this place is hiring criminals.
Went here for a special occasion with my best friend and we
Went here for a special occasion with my best friend and we had a lovely time! We sat in the bar area and had drinks, shared a steak, and several apps and sides. The service was attentive and friendly but a bit disjointed and odd. Like we had to remind people several times of allergies, for example. It didn't seem like they were communicating well across our ticket. The food was overall very good. We really enjoyed the sides (mushrooms and mashed potatoes in particular). The shrimp was, I thought, overcooked but tasty. The steak was not sliced which is kind of unusual when you know it's being shared but it was very good. The cocktails we had were excellent and the wine selection was very nice. Ambience is pretty nice, it's a cute space. I think that just based on the restaurants own messaging I expected a more creative concept as a variation on the typical steakhouse, but to me this was very typical steakhouse vibes and especially the menu. That's not bad! It was delicious. A little different than what I expected and I think there's space to be a bit more creative with the menu in particular. In general it's very solid and I'm glad we went.
I try at least one new thing each visit but I always get
I try at least one new thing each visit but I always get the octopus and the truffle mushroom lasagna - amazing! Alex was our server this time and he was great but Harrison also had some surprises for us. The level of service here is special and I really love the live music in the bar. It's old school classy with modern twists on Italian favorites!
the worst service we ever faced.
this place not only ruined our bday dinner, it also just made us not want to stay there anymore. we were taking pictures with flash light with cake because it was a bday. the guy wearing blue suit (i think it was a manager) a disrespectful man. comes and rudely tells us that we cant take pictures with flash light.. WHAT? the fact you guys have pictures of ppl on ur instagram feed full of pictures made with flash light .. wtf you talking about? and who you guys are after ruining our dinner... worked in customer service for more then 5 years and never let myself be that rude to ppl especially on their bday. its 2024. we allowed to take pictures of the food we bought grew up.
Celebrated matching into residency at Fioretta.
The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, it's dark and mysterious with live music in the front bar area. The restaurant is split up into separate areas and we were placed in a room behind the bar area where we couldn't hear the live music at all, major bummer. I would have preferred to be seated on the left side of the bar, in a larger more opulent room. The hostess was very friendly and kind, she asked us if we were celebrating anything and we shared that we were (although I had written out the reason for our celebration previously on the reservation). The drinks were good but nothing to write home about. I loved the bread service with olives and olive oil. The Caesar salad was very flavorful and rich, highly recommend. Our steak was decent, the garlic served on the side helped to elevate the flavor. The vodka pasta was good but not quite worth the price. Our server was very nice but went into LONG detailed descriptions of the menu and food where I ended up just nodding my head for 5 min even though we had already decided on what we wanted to eat by that point. I feel like overall, the food was good but not worth the four dollar sign price tag associated. I don't really think I would come back for dinner anytime soon, but I would consider sitting in the bar area for a drink and to listen to some live music.
Great steak better atmosphere
This is a very upscale steak house that also serves excellent Italian dishes. The staff is on point. We had Luis, and everything was great. The manager came to our table to check on us and just wanted to make sure everything was perfect. I'll definitely be back.
Gorgeous new dining spot
Lovely new dining spot a mere half block from the Fulton Market restaurant strip. Live music and even livelier bar scene; table side Caesar Salad prep is glorious; steaks are very good (not the best in Chicago but well prepared and delicious). Tips: (1) make sure to book in the main dining room if you want a livelier scene and for reasons that don’t make much sense, table side food prep is unavailable in secondary dining areas (figure it own, management!); (2) if party of 3 or more, ask for a booth as they are a greatly enhanced experience.
Terrible all around
When you plan a special evening, you expect it to be special. You make a reservation at a nice place…. In this case, a new place. It should be in a happening part of town and the food should be good. The service should be good. The ambiance should be good. Scratch that… the food, service, and ambiance should be great. When the bill comes to over $1200, it better be amazing. Not so much at Fioretta. It took far too long for anyone to our table. We just wanted to order drinks (to start). Finally, someone came by and gave us menus… and eventually, took our drink orders. At one point, they apologized, stating there was only one bartender. Really?! The drinks finally came and two had to go back (incorrect orders). We joked that we should have stopped somewhere else first for drinks. The menu is expensive. Excessively so for what you get. The appetizers were sub-par - and small. We ordered Caesar salads (shared at $16 a person) which didn’t come until after the entrees.. and even then, small and soggy. A few points for the tuna tartar - it was cold, fresh, and tasty. Very little else to boast about. The entree for the center of the celebration came out late. The table was continuously under-bussed and messy. A few more points for the chocolate cake. Not worth the calories or the crazy price, but tasty. I won’t be returning.
