Great for all times of day!
My family stayed at a property right next to Duke's, so we enjoyed food from there for breakfast, lunch, poolside, and dinner! The breakfast was great and we enjoyed watching whales in the distance as we ate. The live music is great and varied in style. Our sunset dinner was wonderful (be sure to make a reservation!). We also really appreciated the excellent server staff. They were helpful with food suggestions, and even helped us out with offering us some off menu items for dinner because there weren't the same range of vegetarian options that were on the lunch menu. Servers also very gently checked in about what our plans were and offered ideas of activities we might enjoy as a family. It felt genuine and not like it was part of some sort of scripted expectation for them. Overall, it is a friendly environment, really beautiful setting, and relaxed.
Be the first to ReplyBest dinner of our vacation!
Best dinner of our vacation! Mostly because of our server, Amy, who made everything special from the minute we sat down until the minute we left! A server really does make your experience and she was amazing. She recommended the feature fish dishes and didn’t steer us wrong - all of them were SO fresh and SO good - from macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi to Ahi tuna to fresh Ono, you can’t go wrong! And the hula pie for my birthday was a hit and our kids couldn’t have eaten faster if they tried. Beautiful setting on the beach and I know why it gets rated so high. Definitely worth it! Put it at the top of your list.

Overrated. My salad (and my sister in laws) came without dressing. They forgot. The filet was decent. Not a ton of flavor. The server okay. Chicken crispers for the kids? Dry and over cooked. Avoid this place. Lives off old reputation.
Be the first to ReplyFood temperature not appropriate
PLEASE serve your food hot, not lukewarm....had a couple of late breakfasts & late lunches here & it didn't matter which meal --- NOTHING was ever served hot. I really was hoping we wouldn't get food poisoning from the temperatures of our food.
Be the first to ReplyThe perfect Hawaiian dinner spot
The whole Hawaiian package! Ambience, food, music, sunset, poolside, great service, fun! We didn’t make reservations but scored a first come, first serve table off the the side of the bar where you check in. The hostess was kind enough to alert us since we had kids and the wait was 1hr. Waiter Victor was attentive and helpful w suggestions. So kind. My Mai tai was the best so far on the island. Calamari was not your usual but SO GOOD! I had korean street tacos, husband had filet w mash potatoes and a corn medley I have to research the recipe for, kids had burgers. All incredible! Even the wild fat cats on the beach were a hit.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Service Great Food Confusing Menu System
This rating would be a 5 if it wasn't for their confusing menu system. Multiple menus are displayed near ocean boardwalk however nothing indicates what is different about them. Lunch vs Dinner?? We inquired with hostess if fish and chips was available for lunch & dinner referencing confusing menus on display. She gave a long answer that had to do with different seating area. So we asked, "So we can get fish & chips for dinner?" She responded yes. So we made reservations for following evening. Lexie was our waitress. Upon reviewing menu- no fish & chips. When we asked She said that we would need to be seated at the bar [stones throw from our table] to order that item. We explained what we had been told & she happily got permission for us to order. She was a fabulous waitress. It was a very busy place. Food was coming out so quickly. Wait staff all seemed professional & quick. Entres coming out looked delicious. Will definitely go back...all because of Lexie's great handling of the situation. Hopefully Dukes mgmt will add clarification information to their menu board outside.

Duke’s is a fav of ours. It is a bit pricey but worth it. The staff was fantastic and spot on. The view is partial beach which is fine when you’re eating, you can still hear the waves and relax! We had the calamari (exceptional) and the crab wontons (very good) along with a couple cold ones.
Be the first to ReplyRight on the beach to watch for whales while you eat
Great spot for whale watching while you have lunch. Friendly staff and good service. Great menu and you must definitely stay for the Hula Pie dessert! It's AMAZING! No wonder Duke's is famous for that dessert.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Meal, wait staff & view !
Family arrived in paradise from all over … and we were looking for a great meal … and called Duke’s. They told us they had room for our party of 6 outside. We were fortunate to have Roy and Joey as our waiters. Recommendations were spot on, and we all had a great meal. Highly recommend.

We are at dukes our first night there and we happened to also stay at the hotel it’s located at, so my experience with Dukes is much more than just one meal. The setting is lovely, right on kaanapali beach in a beautiful location and setting. 10/10 for the setting. We had a waitress named Kristi who was not only rude, but also very unhelpful. She was unfriendly, clearly didn’t want to be there, so I really can’t understand why she’d want to be a waitress. It was busy the night we went, but that shouldn’t matter. Someone in the hospitality business should have a friendly demeanor and Kristy definitely did not. The food was mediocre. Since this was our first meal in Hawaii, we didn’t know what to expect about the level of food, but since we were there for a full 12 days, we came to find out that Dukes was definitely sub-par. The food wasn’t hot, was bland and just not prepared with the TLC that you’d expect a restaurant charging those kinds of prices to have. Which leads me to my next point about just how incredibly corporate this place is. Over the course of our trip, we ate at 3 different restaurants owned by TS Restaurant Group, on different islands. Even tho all 3 restaurants had a different name, they were all basically the same with many many many menu items being the exact same and quite literally the EXACT same kids menu across all 3 restaurants. It is so clear that the ONLY thing this restaurant group cares about is making money. At Dukes specifically (again I stayed at the hotel so I have A LOT of experience), I witnessed them ALWAYS measuring their wine pours. To the point that one day, when I asked for it in a tall to go class (versus the really short one they always give), since they didn’t know the measurement on the taller cup, they poured the wine in to something else that they could measure with, and THEN poured it in to the taller to go cup. BEYOND pathetic. I’ve never witnessed a ‘high end’ restaurant go to such great lengths of measuring wine, god forbid you get an extra .5 or even are shortened .5 of an ounce. So pathetic! It’s all just so incredibly corporate, I could not in good conscience, recommend this restaurant to anyone unless you love knowing you’re there just so they can see how much money they can make off you , vs them caring one iota about if you enjoyed your meal.

Had tried one night to get in(didn't have reservations, wait 1.75 hr), decided to change to next day, able to get a reservation for 4:00pm. Had a wonderful table, great view of the water. The waiter we had Braden was wonderful. A smilely happy, pleasant young man. Loved his outlook and positivity. Ordered the Duke's lemonade drink which is so yummy good. I ordered the fish tacos, with taco chips. OH my they were so good. Impressed with the size of the fish in the two tacos received as I have had some restaurants give you very small pieces. Great flavor and the taco chips were yummy good. My niece had the coconut shrimp(received 4 nice size shrimp) and caesar salade. She really enjoyed her food. First time visiting the restaurant, and would definitely return and will plan ahead to reserve. But would be nice if they offered to make a reservation online like the other Duke's restaurants.

Last time on Maui I went to Duke's Beach House and it was fantastic. Expecting something similar was a mistake. The fried calamari with cocktail sauce resembled fried mozzarella sticks with marinara. It was ok. The Korean steak street tacos were good. If you are fished out and not feeling a burger because you eat them all the time, this is a good alternative.

Dinner at Dukes was outstanding. Server Luke was professional while being personable and informative. He showed a sincere interest in us and took the time to answer our questions. Luke is a valuable asset to your service team. Both fresh fish entree and ribs & chicken were sooo good. This was the best dining experience we had in Ka anapali. And the Mai Tias were delicious. Recommended.
Be the first to ReplyBest dinner in Kaanapali
We spent our 38th anniversary at Duke's in Kaanapali. What a great choice! Service and food were both excellent. Daniella, our server, make sure we felt very special. I had the seafood risotto and my wife the fresh fish. This was the best risotto I have ever had. Highly recommend. We never felt rushed, so we could take our time and make room for the luscious free lava cake for desert.
Be the first to ReplyNice service…but sadly won’t return.
Beautiful view and friendly service…fish tacos had no flavor at all. So disappointing. Ribs were dry, macaroni salad was very good. Loved the kids menu/activity book.
Be the first to ReplyDukes not a dud..but our server?
The food was good (Korean BBQ tacos, Mango BBQ chicken salad) but our server clearly wasn’t working as hard as others - not very attentive and not friendly - so contrary to our experiences across the island. MaiTai was underwhelming. Indoor table provided limited view of beach, thankful to see it on our entrance and departure. Nice to have free visitor parking. Traipsing through the hotel pool area to get the entrance was slightly cumbersome even with the signage pointing in somewhat the right direction. We made the trip from Wailea just for the restaurant- I wouldn’t do so again.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Ahi sashimi
Ate here several times during our stay. The Ahi sashimi was excellent, some of the best I have ever had. The fish tacos I had one day were not great, smelled a bit fishy. The salads were good. The service was not perfect, but if they screwed up, there was a manager at your table immediately and they were good at comping. Very expensive but everything here is.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, well crafted drinks and amazing view
We enjoyed a great breakfast here. The service was good and friendly. We enjoyed bloody mary's and great banana and macadamia nut pancakes. The moco loco was very tasty as well. Will try dinner here on the next trip.
Be the first to ReplyDinner Was Only Passable.
Have gone to Duke many times over the years and have reached the conclusion that it is an outstanding place for lunch but not really for dinner. The noise level is too high plus the sun just beats on you. Menu not better than the lunch. They have eliminated Fish & Chips from the dinner menu which is too bad.
Be the first to ReplyFood, Family and FUN!
We visited Duke's 03/02/23 for a family Wedding Dinner. The atmosphere was warm and wonderful with an incredible ocean view and spectacular sunset. Whale season made for some fun and easy entertainment! The food was wonderful and the service, outstanding! The Crab and Mac Nut Wontons, Crispy Coconut Shrimp, and Fish Tacos were very good.. The Baked "Dukes Fish" was excellent but with the garlic, lemon and basil glaze, the very best! The Hula Pie and Lilikoi Pono Pie were the polish on a perfect meal! A Fabulous Feast.. We will definitely return for more!

Love the vibe, Duke is a Hawaii legend! Food was fine, atmosphere was a bit too loud. Good place, nice walk down the beach walk!
Be the first to ReplyPerfect Location and Yummy Food & Drinks
We stayed at the condos right by Duke's, so this was a great place for us to eat. The first night, we sat at the bar. The next time, we made reservations and sat inside - good thing because it was pouring rain!! Everything we tried was delicious! The servers were all very friendly and accommodating.

We enjoyed this restaurant several times while on Maui. Great sunset views, servers are warm and pleasant, live music, excellent food, amazing drinks. It was certainly a highlight for us. While we read reservations are recommended, we were able to walk up and get seated quickly for happy hour/early dinner around 4:30-5PM. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyDuke's doesn't disappoint
We've dined at Duke's Maui many times, and have always had a great time. The setting and atmosphere is lovely, and the food very good. Service was a bit slow on our most recent visit, but the overall experience was still very good. Food preparation and options are excellent, and the cocktails are very good as well. Of the TS restaurants we've dined, Duke's Kaanapali is our favorite, and the only of the Maui locations which hasn't declined in quality (both Kimo's and the Hula Grill were disappointing on our recent visits). For a chain restaurant, Duke's Kaanapali is outstanding, both in terms of setting and the overall dining experience.
Be the first to ReplyGreat place to go with family and friends
We went there with friends and family. Evan was our server, he was very good, knowledgeable and entertaining. He made the dining experience better than expected. The coconut shrimp appetizer was great as was the Tuna and the encrusted fish dish was excellent. The interior is loaded with photos of Dyke and other Hawaiian surfers. Well worth a visit.
