Came here for brunch and waited around 15-20 min to get seated. They ended up seating us at a very small bar seating along the wall so the space is definitely quite small. This place seems to be known for its fried chicken so I ended up getting chicken and waffles. The fried chicken tasted really good especially with the waffles and the portion size was so big!!
Be the first to ReplyI ordered the C&B plate and it never disappoints.
this place has the best breakfast I have ever had. the chicken is crispy on the outside juicy and tender on the inside + perfectly seasoned. roasted potatoes and fluffy scrambled eggs were a 10 and those waffles are a hit! I loved every bite. I came on a Saturday afternoon (12:30) there was a 10-15 min wait, not bad at all considering how delicious and popular this place is. the staff is extremely attentive and friendly. I can always expect an amazing experience every time I come here. thank you so much!
Be the first to ReplyThis is one of our favorite brunch spots in the Bay Area.
The fried chicken and waffles are consistently amazing. We always get the orange carrot juice as well. The cherry on top is that the owners and staff are always so friendly and accommodating and make us feel at home. Highly recommended!

Chicken Benedict and Ricotta pancakes were also so good! We sat outside on a cooler morning and the heated table was perfect. Great and friendly staff!

* We we're seated right away to friendly service * Efficient ordering by phone QR code by table* Quick delivery of food* My husband and I shared some of our food, we asked for an extra plate and they were very accommodating.* Well plated presentation of food* Good sized portion, just enough, so we had no leftovers.* We savored every morsel: the chicken was juicy and flavorful. The rice was exquisite, the aroma and the taste was delightful. The eggs perfectly sunny side up. The waffles were light & fluffy, butter was creamy and fresh berries. We would like to come back and try the freshly squeezed Orange and Carrot juice next time. Highly recommended

I make every effort to visit Cracked and Battered when I'm in SF. I don't know how the chefs do it, but despite having a large meal, I don't feel weighed down afterwards. The chicken is perfectly fried. The thigh meat is tender and juicy. The waffles are crispy and golden brown. The home fries are well-seasoned, and the eggs expertly scrambled. I can also count on a strong cup of coffee. The service is attentive. I don't feel as if I'm being rushed through my meal. My only complaint is the wait can be long. I wish the restaurant still used the Yelp wait list.

Fast and friendly service, I went on a weekday and it was not busy and parking was was easy to find. The place is clean and the food is yummy! I would go back again and again.

This place has all of the classic breakfast menu items and a few surprise items.I have been here twice and plan to go back. First time I had the fried chicken and waffles. Second time I had the pancake meal (I forgot which menu item that was). Each time I went I was surprised with how much food I was served. I totally suggest the carrot orange juice. I had never had that before but am now a huge fan.

Some of the menu is a little plain, but the chicken and waffles are amazing. Juicy and crispy chicken on fluffy waffles.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent brunch.
Everything was well cooked, fresh ingredients, yummy flavors. I like the online order and payment experience, makes everything a lot faster.

What I had: chicken and waffles, nasi goreng, ricotta pancakes. All fantastic. The star of the show was of course the chicken, which was juicy and seasoned well. The wait was only 20 min during my visit, so it really strikes the right price and wait time. Maybe not a place to wait for an hour like other brunch places, but really good value and vibe in my opinion. Recommend!
Be the first to ReplyWe came here at 10:30 on Sunday and were seated immediately.
They have an eclectic menu, with the standard eggs and french toast alongside shakshuka and nasi goreng. We orders the C&B plate--fluffy mini waffles, potatoes, fried chicken (boneless), eggs, and potatoes. The potatoes were crispy and well seasoned and the chicken was juicy and flakey. This was a great choice for someone who likes a little bit of everything. The shakshouka was tasty also, and came alongside pita and hummus.

So so good! Quality of food is always superb and wait is usually no more than 15 minutes. My go-to spot when friends are visiting the Bay Area
Be the first to ReplyGreat service, delicious food, great vibes.
Love the fried chicken here as well as their ricotta pancakes!! Go to breakfast spot.

Came her on a Saturday morning at about 10am with a group of 6. They sat us right away. We used our phone to scan a barcode and make our order/check out. It was extremely easy to use and made it nice at the end of our meal, we could leave when we wanted rather than wait for the check.I split the chicken and wafffles and the fried chicken benedict. Both of the plates were delicious - the fried chicken was delicious (this seems to be the star of their menu)! Portion size was large, I didn't even make it to my breakfast potatoes Would definitely go back! A great option When other places nearby have rediculous wait times.

I thought that my younger brother drives from LA to SF often because he misses me. However, after trying the restaurant he always goes to right when he gets here, I quickly realized that he's only coming here for these chicken and waffles--and I totally don't blame him! Alhamduillah everything at this amazing restaurant is halal, even the beef bacon. We tried the chicken and waffles our first time here. The chicken was seasoned to perfection and the waffles were the softest, yummiest waffles I have ever had! Can't wait to try everything else on the menu, and at least my husband and I don't need to make a trip from LA to enjoy everything this place has to offer--although we totally would!

I am completely perplexed why this place has so many great reviews. I had read a review and decided to go to have brunch there. To my surprise when I showed up the owner or waiter or server was on the phone talking to someone we asked to be seated and he said OK but then he just kept talking on the phone after about five minutes another Server showed up. So we asked to be seated outside but the tables were dirty all the tables were dirty actually ,we sat down and they said you have to order off the app. After being ignored no one came to help at all with anything. We decided to leave . Most importantly the place looked pretty dirty inside also someone said the sink in the bathroom didn't work so they couldn't wash their hands. That was definitely the last straw and a definite red flag if you can't wash your hands after using the bathroom that's not a good sign. The funny thing is that we got up and left and no one even noticed.
Be the first to ReplyOrdered breakfast Togo, waffle and eggs basted.
Was told 20 min. Came down about 25 min later and was told it wasn't ready and would be another 20 min. So clearly they hadn't even started the order in the time they told me it would be done. I was miffed but said fine and went to a bookstore near by to kill time. Come back 20 min later and the cashier asked me what basted eggs are... ?!?!? I ordered on the phone no mention of not servicing basted eggs (at a brunch spot), came to pick it up after 24 min told it isn't ready but no mention of not having basted eggs, and then when I come back and the order is supposedly now ready but how can it be ready if they have to ask me how to cook my eggs?!? Apparently they just decided over easy would be fine. Why then did they ask me again 45 min after I ordered what basted eggs are if they aren't going to serve them to me anyway? So I give up on getting properly cooked eggs and take the food home which is a block and a half away. The waffle is so cold butter won't melt on it?! So I had to wait for 45 min for a cold waffle and uncooked eggs (I don't like slimy whites which is why I order based. If they had told me they can't do basted I would have asked for scrambled.). Customer service was pretty rude as well considering the number of mistakes they made. They made meFeel like I was putting them out the entire time. Do yourselves a favor, there is like 4 other brunch places within 2 blocks of this place.... Go to one of them instead.Per owners response: Nope, it wasn't last Sunday. But It does concern me that you apparently tried to run a restaurant for hours and hours without electricity - makes me question how you could keep things in proper temp if your walk in and freezer weren't operational. Kind of a bigger red flag than bad service now you just sound dangerous.

Chicken & waffles is such a brunch staple and one of my favs because it's the perfect sweet and savory combo, the best of both worlds. The shakshouka was slightly on the spicier side which I didn't mind, could be over powering for some. The menu is limited and focused on their star item which is the chicken & waffles, but everything was delicious and decently portioned! ~- breakfast waffle plate (9/10)- shakshouka (9/10)
Be the first to Reply5/5 for their chicken and waffle dishes.
3/5 for everything else. Went here for Saturday brunch because The wait at Plow was too long. Got seated immediately which was nice! We sat outside because we had a doggo so can't comment on the interior. Warning we found a rusty nail just chilling on the table bench. So look before you sit. Food is ordered via QR code but waitstaff is attentive and nice. Chicken and waffles 5/5. Great portions. Moist and tender fried chicken and the waffles were like being wrapped in a warm blanket - the right sweetness, fluffy and soft interior with the perfect crunchy exterior. Shashouka- 2.5/5. Nothing special. Very watery tomato base and not much seasoning. Definitely the best "healthy" and vegetarian option. But wouldn't recommend coming here for anything other than waffles and chicken. Hummus + Pita- 4.5/5 pita is nice and pillowy and warmed. Hummus was good but nothing I would go out of my way for. Ricotta lemon pancakes - 3/5 good flavor but dry so you have to soak with syrup which makes it too sweet. Maybe just had a bad batch that needed more ricotta. I would only go here if you don't need a lot of options and are craving chicken and waffles or just straight waffle breakfasts. My boyfriend is very excited to bring "the boys" here for the chicken sandwiches and chicken and waffle breakfast bc of the good portion and fair prices. I wouldn't bring a larger group who had a wide variety of brunch desires though. But wouldn't mind coming back.

Plus side is there's a good outdoor seating setup with covered booths. Down side is I think they built out way more seating than they have staff for so service really suffers. Unfortunately, you still tip the same for pretty much pulling up your own menu and placing your own order while waiting to get the attention of anyone to refill your coffee. My friend asked one of the staff for a high chair, she nodded with no verbal acknowledgement, and then never came back. Later on, I asked the same lady for a refill of coffee, she again nodded with no verbal acknowledgement, except this time I was glad to see her return with the coffee carafe. Just to vent, the sucky part about these QR code menu things is that you can't even get a coffee first. I need coffee before starting to scroll through an exhaustive menu and then being prompted by some third-party service to sign up to save $1 on the ordering fee. The mere thought of inputting credit card info before I have a coffee makes me shiver. It'd be nice if they could just give me a coffee and input the order for me so I can decide on what to eat at my own pace. You know, like how service used to be.My friend was able to get us seated at 10am on a Sunday with no wait. By the time we left around 12pm, it was packed. We joked that it was probably all the overflow from Plow. The food was hit or miss. The chicken and waffles were delicious. The chicken was well-seasoned and the waffle was fluffy. I always have my doubts, but this one was really well executed. The shakshouka though was soooo disappointing. The portion was very small, and the dish looked so lackluster with a sad layer of tomatoes. It came with a side of hummus and pita that looked like the Costco Sabra packaged hummus. The pita was at least heated through.
