$58/person, weekend, worth while, yes or no?So, it is cold and gloomy Sunday lunch time. One of those days for something hot and broth that warm you up. We entered Bon Shabu after self parking in the adjacent parking lot.The place was empty as it was just opened 15-20 minutes ago.We were greeted and quickly sat at a clean table but it took a good 10 minutes before a server came to take our order and provide our choice of broth.I would have to say, the sauce, and appetizers were wide in choices. However, the seafood and vegetable variety were no different from other Shabu joints.Me and my family mainly eat only beef, we chose mostly non fatty offerings, 1,2, 6, and 7. From start to finish, the quality of meats were consistent. It was not like other places where the first round of meat was bright red and it became mostly brown and surrounded in fat there after. However, meats are not premium quality; just good, consistent quality. The servers and bus staff are quite courteous and hospitable but it took several attempts to get their attention. They are working hard for the tip but not worth paying beyond 18%.Good: clean dining hall/table (since it is fairly new), courteous staff (price $58/person, tip starts at 18%), appetizers (bulgogie, fried rice, egg roll, fried gyoza, chicken wings fried and sauced, garlic shrimp, sweat and sour pork, etc./desserts (various cakes, mini donuts, and popsicle "1 per customer").Bad: no valet parking, park in adjacent lot, pay $2 with validation from restaurant.Food and dining ambiance are par with most casual restaurants these days. For two adults to fill up on msg full of broth for $58/person, tax and 18% tip = $149.88. Not worth second visit. I find no value eating here.I was amazed by people just come here to fill up on Fried rice, wings and shrimp and do not eat shabu. It is there money.
