This review is for a visit in January 2020 during CES and has nothing to do with the current closure.I've been to a number of steakhouses on the strip in recent years due to business and personal trips. This was my first to BLT Steak and it will most likely be the last. The experience was average and the food was lacking. In the end, I did eat all of my food (except some bits of the steak) so I didn't complain or send anything back. We paid the bill and left. We'll go somewhere else next time.I ordered a steak from the daily special menu. Maybe that was a mistake, but usually, the daily recommendations are better choices as the chefs are freshly prepped on the offerings and in some cases, there are special cuts of meat. The presentation on the plate was downright boring (see picture). A dob of herb butter on top and two grilled tomatoes on the side. It just didn't meet my expectations for a casino's flagship steakhouse. My steak was cooked as I requested (med.rare) but looked like it barely saw a grill or the grill was not hot enough as the char marks were less than pronounced. The flavor was notably lacking. I didn't order it without seasoning, but that's how it tasted. Most annoying for me though was the amount of fat and gristle in the steak. I enjoy steak. I typically order a cut without a bone and leave nothing left on my plate. Given the restaurant status and the price, I shouldn't be cutting out anything and leaving it on the plate. I don't even do that at my local chain steakhouse on a $15 steak let alone here on a $50 steak. The baked potato was meh. It arrived as an uncut brown thing on a plate. The presentation would have been better if the potato had at least been cut open. I'm not sure what the little piece of paper was under it. Weird. I'm a person that also eats all of my potato, including the skin. This potato was like many things in this visit, average at best. I recall it being not-fresh in texture and the skin tough. The positives on the night: the pre-dinner rolls and the side plate of potato toppings. The rolls are worth $10 alone as an appetizer, but thankfully they are complimentary for the table. The side plate of potato toppings was top-notch and looked great.
