AL MADINA HALAL FAMILY RESTAURANT Las Vegas Reviews from The Last Year

A friend who visits Vegas every year recommended the Al Madina halal restaurant, which turned out to be rather confusing as it has changed its name to Desi Dhaba. We found it after bit of a search. The website for Al Madina showed an interesting and wide ranging menu. However, this incarnation has a much more standard and smaller menu. There were four of us with two people less familiar with Indian food. We ordered the lamb chops (excellent), chole bature, a vegetable biryani, raita and a karahi chicken- all of which were tasty. The chicken was somewhat watery unlike a traditional karahi should be. The paratha and the nan were good. We ended up with a decent falooda. As the place does not offer alcoholic drinks we stuck with canned sodas. The restaurant is rather sparkly decorated, much like a roadside diner. The place is owned by three partners, one of whom, Milton Mehta, was present and serving the food. He was cheerful and reasonably efficient. It looks like a family restaurant. On the west desert inn road on the city outskirts, as are many ethnic restaurants, it is a place I might visit again.
Food was terrible.
Could find way better indian food anywhere else. The workers will talk your ear off. Food gave me food poisoning.
The food I had was absolutely disgusting.
I paid $35 just so I could vomit. The food was boiling in my stomach at about 2:30 in the morning and I got up and puked even if I didn't puke very crappy value they gave me some slop with bones in it no meat just fat and tried to tell me that athletes get this all the time because it's got lots of bone marrow. What a joke and then they force you to tip. Don't go here you'll be sorry.

So exact details about my visit to this establishment on the night of 02/14/24 at approximately 9 pm. I got there and it was clear that they were pretty packed, but It's not a big place so I get it. Thr owner asked us to have a seat for five minutes by the entrance and he will seat us. 25 minutes go by, the door keeps opening and shutting letting in a cold draft. Ask if we can sit at another table next to it to avoid that. He allows us to do so. While we are sitting there waiting, it's been about 45 minutes now, no one has even offered us a glass of water. Again still ok. The one person serving food seems yo have no idea who ordered what. We hear about half a dozen times as she's walking out with food "what table is this for again?", and this goes on for a while We waited an hour and not even a glass of water. So we left, laughing.
Extremely great service.
extremely kind, owner and staff. The food tasted fresh , amazing and very fresh. One stop shop for great selection of food. Thank You (:
Please don't look at the stars and become a victim.
We did the same mistake and paid for it. The chicken biryani is the worst ever we had. We could see the chicken is wet in water. Their service is very bad, they don't serve in the order to eat but they charge the tip based on the number of guests. I strongly recommend not to be a victim like us.
Really like this place and it is truly one of the very few
Really like this place and it is truly one of the very few authentic Indian places in all of Vegas. Ordered the Lamb Biryani, Butter Chicken and Chicken 65. Portions were good and everything was fresh and tasty. People get swayed into eating at the Indian buffets/watered down places that are everywhere these days and serve mass amounts of low end food with no taste/flavor. However, those places can not come close to matching the quality of this place. Will be coming back soon.
I been there and they making to much jokes.
He doesn't know lots of food names. He doesn't heard before. Food makes time too long. I am not going there again.
