17Hundred90 Inn and Restaurant Savannah Reviews from The Last Year
Great steak! Friendly staff! Historic building! What could
Great steak! Friendly staff! Historic building! What could possibly be better? Love everything about this place except to too sweet honey biscuits served prior to the dinner. But a score of 99% is still an "A"! So we will be back soon
We came for a drink as part of a ghost tour and returned
We came for a drink as part of a ghost tour and returned the next night, very friendly, seems to be a locals place, cocktails reasonably priced and the food was amazing
First time going.
What a quaint place. It is also an Inn, and there is a story about it being haunted by three ghosts in the rooms upstairs. Our server Zack was great. And the food was excellent . Highly recommend. There was also a piano player.
Lack of cleanliness
I wish I could give this place a five. I love the house, and it’s located in a quiet, convenient location. My partner and I were given free drink vouchers. But all that couldn’t excuse the lack of cleanliness issue. The first thing I noticed when I entered the room was that the bathroom floor tiles and baseboards were filthy. Interestingly, an empty envelope had been left along with instructions for giving the cleaner a tip if you so desired. From this, I assumed that we would have a daily room clean at this hotel. I was wrong. we weren’t even provided with extra towels. Had to request them two days later. At the end of the stay my partner read the fine print on a piece of paper left for us, which said, and I kid you not, that due to social distancing there is no room cleaning. Social distancing! I promise you, nobody in this hotel cares about COVID-19. Nobody wears masks or stands back from customers. And as for social distancing, nobody is even in the room when the cleaner goes at it, so even if this was 2020, it wouldn’t make sense. But I’m sure it’s a great way to save money. 😖
Definitely would come back again
We stayed in room 204 for 3 nights. The first night we went to dinner at the restaurant. As we descended the stairs there was a ghost tour going on that mentioned our room 204. My husband and I exchanged glances and smiled as we passed by them- that really made my night. I booked this room for that reason and although we didn’t experience any activity, we still had a great time. Staff were very friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the ice machine was not operational during our stay. However there was a refrigerator in the room which I wasn’t expecting so that was a bonus.
I had the pleasure of visiting 1790 in in Savannah Georgia
I had the pleasure of visiting 1790 in in Savannah Georgia again. This was the first night we were going to have dinner in the restaurant and it was a very pleasurable experience. We went into the iconic bar first for a couple of cocktails and as usual the bar was full of patrons. There were five in our party and we had a couple of drinks for a total of about $50 during happy hour. After indicating we wanted to have dinner, we decided to go into the dining room instead of eating at the bar as the room was a little bit limited. We were seated immediately in the beautiful old dining room and were served water, given our menus and our drink order was taken. I read about the haunting in the inn by three separate ghosts that they know of which was interesting entertainment for our pre dinner conversation. I ordered the Salmon Oscar which was absolutely delicious. It was served with a medley of vegetables and risotto. I also added the crab stew which was the best crab soup I've ever had. It was truly amazing and I recommend it. My dining partners had the filet mignon with mashed potatoes, the spicy shrimp with risotto and vegetables and a side salad, the chicken Caesar salad, and the eggplant parmesan. Every one of our meals was very healthy in portion and very delicious. We did not have room for dessert but would have liked to try it. Maybe next time. Our server was wonderfully polite and friendly and attentive. There was live piano music during our dinner which was very enjoyable. I love this place and I will visit every time I'm in Savannah which is often as I have family there. Don't miss it even if you only go for happy hour. Do not miss this place.
If I could add 10 more stars I could.
This place is amazing! Love the people, the atmosphere, Mrs. Grumpy and the tavern staff was on point. My fav place absolutely!
Always enjoy the bar and food here.
Love the atmosphere. The Sangria is awesome, and there's always some interesting people to meet here.
I ate at this restaurant on a trip to Savannah several
I ate at this restaurant on a trip to Savannah several years ago and, if I ever get back to Savannah, fully intend to go back. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. It was cozy and warm and we had a lovely time. I know places change but I sincerely hope this one has not because I still think about the great times and great meal we had there.
Very nice historical inn
Stayed here several times and always very friendly and accommodating. People say it is haunted but we have not seen or heard a ghost.Restaurant is very good and good service. They have a piano player during dinner service which is very nice. The bar is also very nice and fun and sometimes offers complimentary appetizers. Miss the continental breakfast they offered at one time.
So disappointing! Party of 6 after 2.
5 hours with literal wine in our glasses was asked to leave so they could turn the table. Never have I ever been asked to leave a dinning room. Especially after ordering full courses and dessert with multiple bottles of wine. Appalled!!!
Food was outstanding, service was excellent even dining in
Food was outstanding, service was excellent even dining in the tavern, dining room very quaint and colonial, tavern is a great place to hang out.
Beef short rib and the crawfish soup of the day were both
Beef short rib and the crawfish soup of the day were both delicious. Pork chop was good but sauce a bit sweet for me. Limited choices for GF diners. Service was excellent as was ambiance, live piano was nice touch.
Nice old inn
Very nice old inn with friendly staff. Bar and restaurant very good. No access to lobby area after hours. No tea available in room. Parking on property a little tight. Restaurant very accommodating to food allergies . Property supposed to be haunted
Be careful if you have allergies!!
This review is only for the restaurant. Full disclosure first. Had it not been for issues with my wife's allergies this would have been a total five star review. Unfortunately, the way this issue was handled was less than satisfactory. My wife has an allergy to soy. Soy finds its way into almost everything so we have to be very careful. Most high end restaurant’s do not have an issue with this as they use higher quality ingredient's especially the cooking oils (the fryer excluded). Although they were able to accommodate my wife for her entree, shrimp and grits which was excellent, she could not have any of the appetizers, breads, or desserts. This was, to say the least, a major disappointment. Now I did call ahead to make sure we could be accommodated and was told we could. The hostess even recognized our name and the allergy when we arrived which I thought was pretty awesome. But it all turned sour after our server told my wife that all she could have was meat. My wife doesn’t eat meat. We realize now that we should have asked for the hostess and/or a manger but we decided to stay because of the ambiance, which was amazing, and Chris, the awesome piano player. My meal, the pork chop was wonderful. On the way out we brought this up to the hostess who said the issue was a recent change to a different food distributor. Funny, our server said nothing about this and indicated that this is just the way things were. Either way, it might have helped to know this from the start. So to finish up, if you do not have any allergies, go, enjoy and say hello to Chris for me. If you do have any allergies, beware. You might be severely disappointed.
A ton of character
Love this place, so much character. Grumpy the handy man/parking comedian is a riot as well. Also love the bar at this inn! I would much rather stay at a local inn like this vs a chain hotel. We stayed in room 207 which is a large corner room. You do have to navigate 2 flights of stairs so be aware of that.
Southern charm at its best
Following Google Maps, we pulled into the parking lot behind the 17hundred90 Inn and Restaurant. A fellow came up, introduced himself as Grumpy, the property handyman. His T-shirt said ‘ if you see me, you broke something’. This set the tone for his walking us through our checkin procedure. Great dry wit. He took us in the main building- absolutely gorgeous, very old. More Southern Charm as a lovely woman checked us in then Grumpy explained we were in one of their guest houses kitty corner to the main inn. Four parking spots there. Met us there then showed us around our room. 315 is on the ground floor off the lane. No steps to navigate. Helping us unload the car he said “in the South, ladies don’t carry luggage”. I like this! This guest house was built in 1856 and our room, although modernized, still retained the old features including beamed ceilings and old stone fireplace. King sized bed, updated bathroom with double sinks and large walk-in shower, separate little room off the bedroom with comfy sofa, mini refrigerator and coffee maker. All so much nicer than your run of the mill hotel. Staying in Historic downtown meant easy walking everywhere. To the visitor centre to catch the Old Town Trolley tour, to Forsythe Park, the riverfront, Prohibition Museum and City Market, great restaurants and shops, and of course all while passing through the beautiful heavily treed squares and past amazing historic homes. As Grumpy said “Savannah is very walkable, it’s not very parkable”. What a wonderful place to stay.
Disappointing customer service.
Unable to cancel reservations 4 days prior to stay and get any refund. Parking spots all taken. Had to park a block away, on the street, for 2 nights. Getting luggage down narrow steps was not easy. Disappointing overall.
Wonderful full stay at a historic inn.
Wonderful old historic hotel, furnished in antiques. We had a very spacious room with large living room space. The inn is a little worn, but the experience of staying there is worth it. Wonderful, friendly staff. Great location. Have stayed there previously, would stay again. Our son stayed in the haunted room, but no ghostly appearances.
Upgrades and renovations from King to Queen beds
I reached out twice out in regard to our recent stay. We had some issues that arose before and during our stay. Originally I booked room 304, which had a king-sized bed, spa tub, fireplace, mini fridge, and very few stairs. I called to verify my room the Monday before our stay as I had lost the confirmation email. The young gentleman told me the room number so I could look again at the layout etc. When I looked up, the room showed a queen-sized bed. I called back, and the manager on duty explained that there had been recent renovations and that some rooms had been changed from king-sized beds to queen-sized beds. If I had not called, I would never have known of the change, which seems a bit unprofessional. The manager offered another room, 318, with similar amenities but up two flights of stairs, although it is not on the website for me to verify. I explained to him that I was unable to use the stairs(due to a car accident). He mentioned that another building was being finished up and might be available for our stay. He said he would call back after speaking to the owner. After two days with no call, I called back and was again told that the room would 'likely' be ready for our stay on Friday and that I would get a callback. Come Friday, I received no phone call, and when we received our check-in paperwork, it still showed room 318, which was up two flights of stairs. However, the gentleman checking us in said we were in the new room, 401. I asked if it had the same amenities as our original room and was told that it did. When we got in the room, there was no mini-fridge, the coffee pot was on a chair, there was no fireplace(just the mantle/hole), and it was a walk-in shower with no tub. The room seemed like it would be great when it was finished, but it was very obviously not done for our stay. While I do appreciate that they rushed to get a room on the first floor ready, it was not truly ready, in my opinion. We did ask about a mini-fridge, and we were told that we could "use the kitchen fridge if needed,” but we ended up buying a small cooler and got ice from the staff. We had no option at that point but to stay as most places were booked or very costly. One additional thing: to the left of the fireplace, below the window and behind the curtain, an electrical outlet did not have a cover, which is a significant safety issue. Oh, and "Grumpy" was amazing and very helpful, as much as he could be.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
