Our waitress was great! All the dishes were delicious! Haven't had good tapas's in a while!
Be the first to ReplyVery noisy.
Seated at table crammed under the stairway. Lots of what looked to be regulars at the bar. The food was just ok. I don't t get all the hype. The food is overpriced and my husband and I both experienced bad tummy troubles on the way home until the next day. Uggghh

I really wanted to love this place, but I was underwhelmed by the food and won't be returning. My husband and I went for lunch yesterday, I loved the restaurant vibe and in general I like the concept of tapas. We both got drinks, he enjoyed his gin and tonic, my sangria was okay (tasted a bit watered down). For food we got the shrimp ceviche, flat iron steak, lamb chops and asparagus. I'm not normally an asparagus fan; but this asparagus was delicious - the best I've ever had. The steak was cooked well, but definitely needed some salt. The ceviche was refreshing, but not something I'd personally get again. The lamb was the worst dish we ordered, super tough/chewy and did not have good flavor.

Came back like I said I would and it still doesn't disappoint. Such a lovely spot to have a nice bite that's full of flavor. I love the flat iron steak so much. The chimichurri sauce is amazing! There use to be a menu that had that told you what drink pairs the best with which dish but it seems to be gone. I wish that was still available but it's ok, I'll still be back!
Be the first to ReplyWhat a great recommendation from our sommelier after wine
What a great recommendation from our sommelier after wine tasting! We wanted something that was shareable and tapas is best for that. Our waiter was personable and attentive. The ambiance was relaxed. Everything we ate was devoured! Every dish had their unique flavor and everything came out fresh and hot. The steak was cooked to perfection and the shrimp wasn't overcooked. The cod was a mixture like dip which we weren't expecting. The tres leches cake was light and so addicting. The apple empanada was warm with a crunchy outside. I only wish they offered ice cream with it. I'd definitely come here again. If their tapas was this good, I can't even imagine how yummy their entrees will be.

I was just here with my family on the 31st of March to celebrate my sister's 34th birthday (party of 5, including myself) and I'll break it down for you all. Food is good, but the portions ain't worth it at all. Prices come between $10-$20 for the tapas dishes and between $35-$40 for the paellas. Of course, it was a tapas (small plates) restaurant, so my family and I had to split up the food just so we could all have a share of the dishes and not have to worry about getting a second round of them. I was dying to try their roasted spaghetti squash after seeing fellow reviews and pics on Yelp, but our waiter, whose name we didn't get and didn't even bother to introduce himself, said they ran out and recommended their grilled asparagus. but not long after, even more bad news was that they ran out of that too and also didn't have lobster paella. Ok, so you're just going to try to recommend grilled asparagus and tell us that they ran out as well just shortly after trying to order that? Why didn't you just say you didn't have any more when we were ordering in the first place? He should have told us what items were out before placing the order so that way my family and I knew. A negative was pity the paella takes 30 minutes to ensure the rice gets thoroughly cooked, but we had plans to visit other places in the Napa area. A plus for the paella was that was the main dish that was able to fill me and my family up. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it at all. Out of 5 stars, I wish I can rate it 0 stars, but I'll put one star because the only food items that filled me and my family up were the Zuzu paella and the vegetarian paella: -1 for the small portions -1 for the prices -1 for the place being not as loud as other restaurants; there was another family party, some solo customers -1 for not being told of which items were out before we ordered
Be the first to ReplyZuzu is a great find It has a great variety of tapas.
The chef provides great quality and a good amount of food. They also have paella dishes that we didn't try. Today we started with spicy savory roasted almonds instead of more traditional sweet almonds. The beet salad with goat cheese and other delicacies was exceptional. The chef did a nice job seasoning the items to enhance the flavors. Today they had grilled asparagus with shaved cheese and garlic. Wow. The restraint has a causal atmosphere with nice wood tables and decorations. We strongly recommend you give ZuZus a try.
Be the first to ReplyWe came here on a Friday afternoon for a light lunch.
We didn't have reservations but were seated instantly. Our waiter was great, personable, and attentive. We ordered the lamb chops and flat-iron steak tapas. The lamb chops were definitely a star. If we had more time at the restaurant I probably would've ordered these again immediately. So tasty and flavorful. The waiter said these two menu items are usually prepared on the rare side, however, they were cooked through more than I thought they'd be. The flat-iron steak was cooked perfectly for medium and was seasoned well with the herbs and garlic. It was tender and delicious. As far as the ambiance, I loved the music playing over the speakers. It wasn't too loud and we were still able to comfortably converse.

I ordered Mussels and was pleased with the presentation and the sweet crouton and sauce. As good as it looked the mussels were puny small. Not dried up but just small. I regularly get frozen mussels at my grocery store that are 3 times larger. Disappointed. The atmosphere was spartan and harsh on my hearing aids. The seating is very puritan like chairs. The gin and tonic special was a glass of ice with little flavor. My wife had the sandab fish and was satisfied but did not get her preferred chardanay.

We had a group of 6 for dinner last Saturday night and we had a great experience. The drink menu is super fun and we were all happy with the what we received. The squash app was a huge hit as was the ceviche and the chicken croquettes. We loved the ribeye and the lamb chops. Our server Amin was sensational and made the experience even more memorable.
Be the first to ReplyZuZu is our new favorite Napa restaurant after great food
ZuZu is our new favorite Napa restaurant after great food and better drinks. The restaurant specializes in tapas with plenty of small plates and also entrees, including paella. We have been a tapas kick of late so that was the initial draw. So was the gin and tonic menu, I have to admit. The gin and tonic, a favorite drink of mixologists because it takes no time to mix, has become a specialty at ZuZu and, my God, do their bartenders take them seriously! Each is pretty as a picture with flowers, juniper berries and fruit garnishes. You do not expect a gin and tonic menu with dozens of gins in the middle of wine country but here it is. Several gin and tonics combinations are offered (like the Hayman London Dry and the London No. 1, $16 each) and you can also select gins separately from a long list of gins and a short list of tonics. They make their own tonic and offer it along with standbys, Fever Tree and Q. No tonic gun here. We ordered all small plates: Roasted Beets with Frisee, Walnuts and Goat Cheese Mousse ($16), Akaushi Flat iron steak ($22), Grilled Lamb Chops ($22) and Gambas al Ajillo, shrimp in garlic sauce ($20). The last, shrimp in garlic, deserves special applause. Words are not enough to describe. Redolent? Garlicky? Flavorful? We're going to come here every week, we vowed. We would have licked the bowl if we hought we could get away with it but settled for soaking it up with the bread. But honestly, they had me with the bread. Normally I would avoid the bread so I could enjoy what comes after, but after one slice of their moist, fresh French bread, I couldn't resist eating every slice. I kept asking for more. And they kept bringing it. Such nice service. A small and narrow restaurant, the tables are kinda close together, but the place is so well decorated there's a lot to distract you.

We landed at Zuzu to celebrate our anniversary dinner as we were staying in Napa and was traveling from San Francisco. Loved the vibe, nicely curated menu, gin and tonic options, desserts and the hospitality of the staff. Great evening!

So below average, the food wasn't good, lamb was not seasoned well, and meat we ordered tasteless. Paella was okay nothing special. I wouldn't leave the review but after dinner when getting to the hotel we both were sooo nauseous and had a stomach ache. There are tons of better options here in Napa.

We went to Zuzu off of several recommendations praising it for its paella and Tapas. We got seated right away on a Wednesday night and we're met by a hostess and our server. Our server appeared as if he he was disinterested in us as customers. We didn't like the taste of the olive oil with the bread served. It tasted stale. So we asked for butter. Ten minutes we had to ask again and then were told we would be charged for butter. We ordered family style two tapas and a paella. We felt like the server judged us the minute we sat down. Food was tasty but the service left a bad taste in our mouth.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time having tapas.
The food was great, but unimpressed with the service considering the price tag. It felt very rushed and impersonable. We are in Napa to celebrate my wife's 50th and chose Zuzu as the place for her bday dinner. No acknowledgment other than a quick happy bday. Felt brushed off. Not a place I'd be back to or recommend to friends regardless of the food quality.

Be the first to ReplyPerfect for a late night dinner! I love the idea of tapas
Perfect for a late night dinner! I love the idea of tapas because it gives you the opportunity to have more diversity in your meal. I hands down would eat their ceviche gladly for the rest of my life - it was perfectly limed, which I feel means something with ceviche. I thought the flank steak with chimichurri was excellent and very flavorful. I can't say the chicken croquettes were my thing, but I do think they are worth trying. I also really loved the fried manchego; I think it opened up a new appreciation for cheese within my palette that I thought that I had already mapped out pretty well before. The space is fun and fitting to the Spanish theme; the music is riveting, and the staff is attentive. Would return! I will say that keep in mind that tapas are small plates, so plan accordingly!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food!!! Gin drinks and wine were amazing.
We kept ordering more plates- everything was the perfect portion- not too much- even had room for dessert- when does that happen. Everything was so good.

Rib eye was a special, but probably one of the best rib eye steaks I've tasted. Tender, juicy, cooked to perfection. Pretty sure it was a prime cut. A little pricey but sometimes you get for what you pay for.Lamb chops were too sweet for me however. Wasn't a fan . Good service good ambiance nevertheless

Zuzu is a refreshing pit stop along the gorgeous views of the Napa River. We endulged in classic Spanish favorites like Gambas Al Ajillo, scallop ceviche, & coconut calamari tapas. SALUD!!

Came to Napa for a comedy show and picked Zuzu's for dinner based on Yelp reviews. Totally impressed! Our server was excellent at helping us make drink and dinner decisions (great descriptions but not pushy) and the food was excellent. So flavorful and unique but not to unique. Just perfect.
Be the first to ReplyI'm sad to be disappointed by this.
The ceviche was missing so much flavor. The salt cod was ok but not amazing. The salad was prob the best thing we had. The paella was good but not amazing. Great location, and ok food, but not something I'd crave or return to.
