If you're in Ion Orchard and you're looking for a decent
If you're in Ion Orchard and you're looking for a decent good value meal and too lazy to leave the mall to explore others, Yun Nan's is worth giving a shot. The food is based off of the name "Yun Nan" which is a location in China. The food is a combination of ethic origins and Han Chinese flavours. Overall a pleasant experience and would recommend! Taste: 4.5:5 Ambience: 4/5 Service: 3.5/5 Value for Money: 4.5/5 We had: 1) Beef stew in copper pot: this is a signature item, did not disappoint and balances well with rice and anything else you might get! 2) Grilled pork trotters: This is a must get! For those who like a nice bite into pork, this did not disappoint (gloves are provided so you can grab it better) 3) Crispy burning tofu: Well recommended as well, small bites here and there 4) Garlic Cayote Leaf: Flavours are there 5) Avocado Jackfruit Juice: It tastes as it sounds, imagine having Avocado stirred up mixed with Jackfruit All in all, if I was in Ion Orchard again, I'd come back to it, knowing that I had a great, but perhaps more importantly, a consistent one.

After seeing Yun Nans on a list of one of the must-try restaurants at Jewel Changi, we knew we had to stop by! The wait was also super long which says something! We put our names down around dinnertime for a table of 3, and were quoted a wait time of about an hour and a half. You can put your name down and they'll text you when your table is ready. Luckily there are plenty of stores for you to shop at to kill time while you're waiting, so just make sure to plan ahead. Once we were seated, they asked if we wanted the mushroom appetizer, so we agreed. The mushrooms had a delicious texture and taste and served as the perfect appetizer, but just note that they do charge for this (we were under the impression that it was complimentary). The chicken soup was rich and hearty, and the meat was tender and came right off the bones. I only wish they gave a larger/longer spoon because it was hard to reach the bottom half of the bottom with our tiny spoons. Overall, glad we decided to stop by! I would've liked to come with a larger group to try more of their dishes, but I was still happy with what we got.

There was a long line at Yun Nans but we persevered and finally got a table. We ordered a variety of dishes to try including the signature cross bridge rice noodle soup, double boiled chicken soup, minced pork with szechuan vegetable, charcoal grilled seabass, Stir Fried Wild Porcini Mushroom with Dried Chillis. The seabass looked really attractive from the window but I didnt think it was extraordinary in terms of flavor- overrated. The porcini and minced pork dishes were very tasty! The two soups were good as well and I liked the spicy sauce with the chicken from the soup. The grilled pork knuckles and several desserts were not available and it was disappointing.
