Yoku Quesada Reviews from The Last Year
Disappointing
Very disappointed with service our second course came before our first, food not hot. Always enjoyed the yoku but since the renovations it has gone down hill
Gorgeous Food
Really gorgeous food, the staff were really attentive, inside the restaurant is beautifully decorated! will definitely go back next time we are in Spain.
So lovely.
Just lovely, a very nice refurbishment, the staff are so welcoming and once again the food, excellent. Always a smashing place to catch up with friends.
Very disappointed
Visited last night for evening meal. Ordered drinks. 2 x agua con gas & tonic water. The tonic water was served as gin & tonic. They took the gin away. Left with a bottle of tonic. Ordered a meal for 3 off the menu & asked for a glass, then waited. Had to then go to the bar to ask for a glass with ice. Were then abandoned. Had a baby in a push chair who started to grizzle. Entered this restaurant at 20.30 by 21.20 asked where were our meals. Waitress said "not long". Waited until 21.30 then left. They charged me 7. 50 euros for the 3 drinks. In over 20 years here, have never received such poor, uncaring service at a restaurant. If it was very busy , I could have made some allowances. We sat inside & there were hardly any customers. A couple on the table next to us were served even though they arrived about half hour afterwards. I see the y have good reviews on the food. Well, who knows ?
Woll not return!
Very disappointed, 32 of us turned up at a pre-booked, pre-ordered set lunch at 1 pm. first course was served 1 hour 20 minutes after arrival. Main course was served way before rice/noodles. Some of us had the main course without rice or noodles. The timing was all out. Desert was served at 4 pm and the cheesecake was still frozen! Totally disorganised.
Food as good as ever but 2 little niggles.
Our first visit back after its huge refurbishment and was delighted in its appearance. They’ve done a beautiful job. The food is still as outstanding as ever. I’ve come on really to say I have just 2 minor complaints that I hope they redress quickly. Firstly, we were a table of 6 but the meals came out in dribs and drabs. Some of us were halfway through before other meals came. Secondly, they tried to clear some of our plates before we had all finished. I had to stop them.
Good food
Lovely fresh food full of Eastern Promise. Sarah says it is the best food she has had since she has been here, high praise indeed
Very mediocre
The restaurant we were going to was closed so we thought we'd give Yoku a go as it looked quite nice from outside. The welcome was ok and we were invited to sit wherever we wanted so we sat at the back of the restaurant. We ordered the Thai set menu for 2 which seemed very good value for money at €17.50 each including starter, main, dessert and bottle of wine between us. The music (some thai or chinese radio with adverts) was extremely loud so I asked it to be turned down. It got turned off completely only to be turned back up to the same loud volume 10 mins later. All the time we were there, there was a lady behind the bar who was watching a film or something on her phone on full volume with no headphones. I asked if it could be turned down which they did only for that to be turned back on a while later. The food was ok but was all served on cold plates. The thai salad starter was nice and was followed by chicken satay skewers and some small spring rolls. To follow, there was a nice chicken red thai curry, some overcooked duck in some orange type sauce and pad thai with king prawns although the prawns had not been veined. The service was felt very rushed and there was certainly no friendly chat. The girl that poured my wine spilled some of it and didn't wipe it up or apologise. Another girl nearly spilt my glass of wine over me when she served some food but luckily I was holding on to the glass. The panelling where we were sitting was unpainted chipboard and looked very shoddy which didn't make you feel that it was clean or hygienic in any way. All in all, it was a very unrelaxing experience - I felt very stressed and was extremely relieved when it was time to leave. Needless to say, we will not be revisiting this establishment.
Not the bog standard UK type chinese
We ate here last night, a tad confused why there are such negative reviews. Chinese is not my go to in the UK I much prefer Indian but a local advised to try Yoko. We had a great starter, prawns in batter , they came with a special dressing and were very tasty. Mains we had duck and pancakes, nothing like back home as the duck was carved into bigger slices and of a very good quality. The star dish accompanying this was Tawianese chicken, this had a little spice and great flavour, we also had the Japanese noodles. The service was a little slow but nothing out of the ordinary, not sure what people expect this time of year we all know its difficult to get catering staff in certain areas but tbh it was fine and the food we chose well worth the little wait. If you are expecting dirty greasy abroad Chinese maybe try somewhere else but for me this was much better than those places
Poor menu del dia, food cold, poor quality and service was miserable.
Menu del dia, today Saturday lunch. Very disappointed with the food and service. The servers had an attitude that they did not want to be there. No please, thank you, nothing. Took ages for the food to come and the plates were cold from the kitchen so your food was cold. Other tables complained but they were not interested. The meat skewers were tough and the ribs were inedible. Not good.
Amazing value for money
Great set menus at reasonable price ... and LOTS of it. Starter salad, Peking duck, rice, noodles, various meat dishes, glass of wine and a dessert for under €20. Staff were very attentive and friendly, food was hot and presented well. 100% will be returning Thanks all
