WINNER Reviews from The Last Year
Came here on a recommendation of a friend and this place
Came here on a recommendation of a friend and this place was busy with a line several people long late morning. It is a popular lunch spot from what I hear. I had a scone which was more like a cross between a cake and a cookie. Flat , moist and very sweet - not at all the texture of a traditional scone. Tasty but definitely not as expected. I had heard good things about the cookies too and tried two different ones, chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin walnut - the latter also had coarse salt in it a bit unexpected. Overall just ok for $4 cookie- I wouldn't get again.

Stopped in at around 11:15 AM on a Sunday and they were sold out of a lot of things, but I did secure a loaf of sourdough, a cinnamon bun, and an oatmeal ginger cookie. The bread and cookie were both excellent, but the standout was the cinnamon bun. Maybe one of the best I've ever had. There was no seating when I visited in February - just the walk-up window - but it looks like they sometimes have outdoor seating and additional seating at their spot next door. Need to return for the sourdough croissant!
Heading out of NYC, thought we'd do a quick lunch at Winner
Heading out of NYC, thought we'd do a quick lunch at Winner as the noted Pete Wells called their beef patty as one of the top dishes of 2023. We were driving so parking is challenging. Somehow after circling the block once we found a spot a short walk away. Good and quick service. A nice space. Unfortunately, they were sold out of beef patties (1 PM). We ordered a fish patty, Ric & Morty, Midnight Club, and beef stew. All tasty except a bit too much arugula on the R&M and the patty was quite "fishy". So overall a good first visit and hopefully they will have beef patties next time....
Fantastic quality food would absolutely go here again.
Leroy's gift shop right up the street so you can explore there while you wait for your food.
The line is sometimes too long.
That's because the food is so good though! My favorite egg sandwich in Park Slope by a mile. I tell everyone about it. I think the lamb sandwich is one of the best things I've ever eaten. My go to are the beef patties. It's possible I'm single handely keeping them on the menu. Added bonus if you're a dog person. It's all outdoors. Ordering, pickup, seating. It's awesome.
I mean.
..If you get anything of theirs fresh - foccacia, baguettes...sandwiches...You'll be very pleased. So much left to try and I will! Do note, the jalapeno foccacia is spicy and intense but in mostly a good way
Love this spot.
Their pastries are awesome; the sourdough croissants are incredible, the scones are great and not dry. Their sandwiches are also fantastic, I got a BLT there once that I still dream about.
Ordered a iced coffee that tasted like water and a pastrami
Ordered a iced coffee that tasted like water and a pastrami melt that I should have taken back becsuse by the time we got it and turned the corner to sit down, it was so soggy it completely fell apart.
Great bakery but it takes about 5 minutes per customer
Great bakery but it takes about 5 minutes per customer (might be due to their renovation) -- so if you see a line, expect to wait 30+ minutes. Park stall is more limited but a great option. For another great bakery nearby with more limited lines, try Simple Loaf on 5th Ave between 3rd and 2nd.
I was stunned.
First time ordering from Winner. Picked up the $24 1/2 chicken. This what I found when getting ready to eat: A gllistening but somewhat dried out half a bird. Really disappointed, considering Winner's popularity. One and done. :-(

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
