Terrific Chinese Cuisine
This was our first time at the restaurant. We did the 5:30 seating, so when we showed up, the place was pretty much empty. However, within 45 minutes it was totally packed. FOOD This is great Chinese food. Everything tastes fresh and is exploding with flavor. You got your Chinese classics like General Tao, sweet and sour pork, fried rice etc. as well as the more upscale stuff like a whole peking duck that they carve in front of you, wagyu beef, caviar dishes etc. The food won’t disappoint. If you like Chinese food, you won’t go home hungry. RESTAURANT The place looks great. It feels like you’ve been transported to a different environment. It’s very clean and the decor looks authentic, the staff looks very put together, the silverware, chopsticks and plates are all very nice and unique. SERVICE It’s a Michellin star restaurant so the service matches that. You get new plates and silverware with every course, the staff is extremely professional and pleasant. They explain each dish as it’s brought to you and they include a few items that are ‘compliments’ from the kitchen. CONCLUSION It’s a great place to visit whether you live in Vegas or just visiting. The food is great and the service as well. Highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyGood food, service, atmosphere
Last time we were disappointed by this place, but I have to say that this time everything was perfect. I like the superb settings, very Asian, the service which is efficient and friendly, and the peoples going t this place. Prices are high even for Vegas, but we know it before going there.

We had an amazing experience at Wing Lei. Our server Herman and his assistants are so pleasant and professional. We celebrated our 20th anniversary. Herman made excellent recommendations, and encouraged us to try a variety of items instead of the tasting menu which we were considering. This less expensive option allowed us to try a variety of appetizers and entrées, all of which were very different! Our meal started with a complementary chrysanthemum tea, followed by a pomegranate jelly amouse bouche. We enjoyed the seasonal cocktails. The quality of our meal was like nothing else we’ve ever experienced and the timing of courses was impeccable. Herman surprised us with several complimentary desserts to celebrate our special day. It was a great experience!
Be the first to ReplyANNIVERSARY DINNER
We made reservations to celebrate our Anniversary and the service & environment at this restaurant did not disappoint , from the moment we arrived the service was impeccable . We selected a great bottle of wine and decided on the sampler , the Alaskan King Crab Salad and Ribs were fantastic , the Shrimp Toast was a bit tough and greasy . For dinner we had the American Wagyu Beef , General Tsao Chicken and the Vegetable Fried Rice , the Beef was a bit fatty but the Chicken was the best we've had , the Rice was very good as well . For our Anniversary , they bought us a delicious piece of cake and a selection of bite size desserts , all extremely good . The overall price was reasonable and less than we expected , would definitely recommend and return .

What else more can be said that hasn't already been said. The ambiance was beautiful, the staff was overly obsequious, and the food was divine. Had the garlic shrimp spring rolls and the black truffle scallops. They brought the most yummy petite fours for dessert, too. Everything was perfect.
Be the first to ReplyOpulent Michelin Star Chinese
My partner and I make it a tradition when travelling to dine at a Michelin Star restaurant and order the tasting menu with wine pairings. Wing Lei offered a choice of the Signature Autumn Dinner for $US 179 plus $US 99 for pairings per person or the Imperial Duck Tasting menu for $US 130 plus $US 79 for pairings per person. While I wanted the former and my dining companion wanted the latter, the options are for whole table only, so we ordered the Autumn Signature menu for both. The dining room is elegant and the goldware cutlery was stunning. I appreciated that dress code was reinforced by email beforehand and abided by most guests. There were no loud tables or inappropriate behaviour, thankfully. This is not something you can take for granted in Las Vegas, even in the best restaurants. The waitstaff were attentive but not overbearing. Timing was right on point. Every course was served piping hot and the sommelier was proactive with pourings and explanations. The ambiance could have been improved with dimmer lighting as the brightness detracted from any intimacy. Of the 5 courses, the hands-down favourite was the Braised Prime Short-rib with yam puree, shimije mushrooms and 5-spice soy glaze. It was so tender, we ate it with chopsticks. The Poached Maine Lobster with autumn vegetables and the Truffle Soup Dumpling were also delicious. The first course was Alaskan King Crab & Sturgeon Caviar which we found be bland. The cold egg white texture was off-putting, strange and unpalatable. The dessert and hand-made chocolates we were sent home with were absolutely decadent. Overall, this was a special experience but I felt that the tasting menu played it safe. For $700, I expected to try something truly unusual or have at least one dish that exploded with flavour. While there was nothing wrong with it, I feel like it should have been more memorable to be of that value.
Be the first to ReplyWe will eat here each visit to Las Vegas
We have eaten at many Michelin restaurants but very excited to try our first Asian cuisine one. It did not disappoint. Simple dishes elevated and some very complex flavors and pairings. All cooked to perfection, but without being overpowering as some restaurants with Asian spices. The atmosphere with the gardens just outside were a very relaxing view. The staff was amazingly attentive but not obtrusive. We enjoyed the whole evening immensely.
Be the first to ReplyVery good overall
Service was superb, food was faultless. Disappointed that the 'dress code' was only applied to some of the guests, it seems others can wear what ever they wish.
Be the first to ReplyQuite an Experience
This is probably the fanciest place I've dined at for someone who doesn't do this much. Service was exceptional with everyone serving being so helpful. Tried the recommended Imperial Peking Duck carved right beside the table and it was delicious. Also tried the sampler which was also delicious. Was treated with several unexpected desserts, all so tasty. It was an excellent experience is Las Vegas and I would gladly go again.
Be the first to ReplyImpecable Cuisine! Definitely a MUST
First Chinese restaurant in North America to have a micheline star, five star award Forbes and an impeccable service, cuisine and decoration. Their Imperial Peckin Duck is just extraordinary, and in every single one of their dishes you could feel an explosion of Cantonese, Shanghai & Szechuan flavors.

We have enjoyed several dinners here over the years and last evening's food/service only gets better each time. Do take time to try several appetizers - they are all delicious (garden dim sum) and will prepare your of the courses to follow. It is a beautiful environment and the staff is extremely careful and caring. Do plan ahead with reservations. And do plan to receive a great evening event. We continue to highly recommend Wing Lei.
Be the first to ReplyIf you like martinis you need to know this
This is a fantastic Chinese food restaurant for demanding clients. The place is very nice quiet and spacious. We highly recommend it. However there is one item that you need to know. The bartender does not know how to do a classic dry martini. When we ask him he says he never use vermouth. He just give you a chill gin in a glass.

We are at Wing Lei for the first time with a dear friend who is a certified Master Chef. He and we all agreed how fantastic the food was! The service was without comparison and the ambiance added to the deliciousness of the food. You should visit! Very few places have food to meet the prices, Wing Lei is a great place for the price!
Be the first to ReplyWing Lei - Upscale, Classy (and Tasty) Chinese Food at the Wynn
We ate at Wing Lei on my last trip to Vegas. This is probably my 4th or 5th time. You have to book a reservation weeks in advance to get a reservation between 6 and 7:30. I love eating there because: 1. Really good chinese food 2. Very classy, first class, high end atmosphere, presentation and service and 3. My meal is always comped. 1.We (three of us) had the Imperial Peking Duck (w steamed buns), Garlic Beef Tenderloin, Prawns with Candied Walnuts, Yang Chow Fried Rice. All of it was excellent. The Duck is carved tableside and prepared into the buns for you with the plum sauce, scalions, etc. They simply serve it to you for immediate consumption. One thing I questioned was that I thought they would bring out the rest of the duck meat for us to eat later, but that never happened. The prawns with walnuts is a fairly typical dish found in lots of chinese restaurants. But here they use extra large prawns and they were lighter, more freshly prepared. Excellent. The beef was super tender and delicious. All of these dishes one can find in any authentic (or even not authentic) chinese restaurant along Spring Mt Road. But at Wing Lei everything is prepared in premium fashion and tastes better. 2. The atmosphere at Wing Lei is very high classed and the service impeccable. One doesn’t think of using “chinese food” and “fine dining” in the same sentence. But at WL it is appropriate. The pre-meal small “chef’s “ dumpling they bring you, the after dinner sweet mini pastries, all of it adds up to a great experience. 3. I am chinese so I am super aware that the food here is tremendously over-priced. Our meal of $300+ probably would’ve cost less than $100 off strip at any of the chinese restaurants along Spring Mt Road. But this is to be expected in Vegas and particularly at the Wynn LV. Red 8 and Wazuzu are similar. So I would never pay these prices myself. Still having said all that, I would still highly recommend Wing Lei. It is excellent and terrific eating experience in keeping with the whole Wynn Las Vegas vibe.
Be the first to ReplyUpscale delicious Chinese food
We had a great dinner here. The service was excellent from start to finish. Food was delicious. We tried the Pan-Seared Pot Stickers, Cantonese Wonton Soup, Mu Shu Pork, General Tao's Chicken, and Yang Chow Fried Rice. The Mu Shu Pork was our favorite. The General Tao's Chicken sauce resembled more of a sweet and sour sauce which was unexpected, but good.
Be the first to ReplyFOOD CULTURAL APPROPRIATION food lacking authenticity is ‘cultural appropriation2
1. Wok-fried Maine lobster. Lobster is not indigenous to China. Imports are mainly from Australia and the USA. Cooking in a wok is a Chinese style method.
2. Crispy Pork with Sweet & Sour Sauce* 咕嘍肉 35.88 Pineapple, Heirloom Bell Peppers, Pearl Onions (Chinese-American modification for western tastes by battering, sweetening, frying. Sweet-and-sour sauces do exist in China, but are mostly eaten with fish dishes. And most importantly, the sauce lives in a separate dish which the diner uses for dipping. )
3. General Tao’s Chicken 左宗雞 35.88 Balsamic Chili Sauce, Baby Bok Choy (Chinese-American modification of a Chinese dish for western tastes)
4. Lemon Chicken* 香酥檸雞 35.88 Frisée, Honey Lemon Sauce
(In China, the chicken is steam. Common take out food from Canadian Chinese. and Chinese-Indian restaurants. Generally fried for Western tastes)
5. Pan-Seared Lamb Chops* 香煎羊排 61.88 (Western and not Chinese dish)
6. Fried Prawns with Candied Walnuts* 核桃蝦球 45.88 Romaine Lettuce, Creamy Kalamansi Honey Sauce (Adapted for western taste again frying and adding candied walnuts as well as honey sauce. A Chinese-American dish)
7. Garlic Beef Tenderloin* 蒜片黑椒牛柳 52.88 Heirloom Bell Peppers, Sugar Peas, Seasonal Mushrooms, Black Pepper Sauce (western dish)
8. Wing Lei Sampler 永利拼盤 42.88 King Crab Salad, (2) BBQ Spare Ribs, (2) Shrimp Toast Sliced
(Shrimp Toast heavy in oil and a favorite Chinese American take out item. King crab generally sourced from Alaska.)
9. Worst offender? Imperial Peking duck and also listed by Wing Lei as Peking duck.
Is this an American version of Duck called Peking Duck. YES/NO?
Note fully authentic serving practices and modified.
What is the breed of the duck?
Was the duck hung and dried for the appropriate period of time?
If the duck is not special ordered in advance and is soon ready to be served, how long has it been sitting since it was cooked and then reheated?
Even in China they have prepackaged cooked "Peking Duck" that they sell at the airport when departing Beijing's Airport, Does Wing Lei do something similar to this?
If not, is duck hung and cooked in an open oven style?
Is air pumped to separate skin from the meat?
Perhaps the name should be changed to American Peking Duck or something else on the menu if modified cultural appropriation.
Description issues:
Seafood Hot & Sour Soup 酸辣湯 18.88 Mushrooms, Wood Ear, Bamboo, Maine Lobster,
(Description should read bamboo shoots. Wood ear is in the mushroom family. Don't know what other types of mushrooms are added).
Calories:
The appetizers, side dishes and desserts are no more than 250 calories each and the main courses are 500 calories or less
1. Egg rolls us a delicious little crispy packet that only takes a couple of bites to consume, but therein lies the problem. Taken on its own, a single egg roll is 222-calorie,
2, Fried rice results in an oily, starchy, undeniably delicious, but totally unnecessary calorie addition. Calories can be reduced depending on the type of oil used. What type of oil is used? Generally a cup-sized portion starts at 200 calories.
Many other issues but the above are of concerns that currently stand out.
Looking forward to your input. Also, for transparency and truth in advertising, first Chinese to win Michelin One star should have a footnote that this was in 2008-2009, Thirteen years has passed.
A star indicates excellent cooking. Two stars are referred to as good tasting cooking worthy of exploring a little bit; and three stars are regarded as exceptional tasting cuisine worth getting into.
From what I heard, one of the reasons Wing lei has 5 stars from Forbes is because of excellent service, superior decor. . .
In addition, live seafood advertised. I didn't see any live seafood.
Will live seafood be selected and presented prior to cooking?
In some Chinese restaurants, they will be taken out of the tanks.

Elegant Upscale Chinese Restaurant with Very Tasty Foods and Excellent Service
During our stay in Las Vegas, Wing Lei was one of many upscale restaurants that we visited for dinner. This restaurant had pleasantly bright and warm atmosphere. Upon entering we were greeted by a courteous hostess, and led to our window side table. The garden outside the windows looked beautiful. Soon, a server placed a tiny baby chair next to our table. The baby chair turned out to be a chair on which my wife’s handbag could be placed. We ordered “Alaskan King Crab Salad”, “Seafood Hot and Sour Soup”, “General Tao’s Chicken”, and “Mu Shu Pork”. All the foods looked like beautiful art works, and they tasted very delicious. Above all, “Mu Shu Pork” was the best Mus Shu Pork we had ever had. Later, our server brought us a beautiful dessert as the restaurant’s complimentary dessert for my wife’s birthday. The servers were very courteous. The manager and the assistant manager were extremely attentive and courteous as well. When we looked around to find our server for an extra plate, the manager quickly came to us to find out what we needed. Then, he quickly brought a plate to our table by himself. Another time, we accidentally dropped our fork. Before we stooped down to pick it up, an assistant manager quickly brought us a new fork. We highly recommend Wing Lei Restaurant.

Had a great meal here. The space is fabulous and very comfortable. Food was top-notch, don't miss the potstickers and especially the Peking Duck. Worth the splurge here. Service was superb.

Fabulous experience! Loved the service, food and cocktails. Our group of six ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees, including Peking duck. We were seated in their private room and shared all the food family style, using the big rotating center of the round marble table. Tasty food including chicken, wagyu beef, curry and scallops. Dessert treats were also great! Excellent service.

I dined at this place few years ago and I ordered the whole duck and another duck dish, which at that time I was not impressed with ant of the dishes.
This time I asked for recommendations from my faithful waiter "Herman", and here what we tried:
Garden Dim Sum: An edible Art
Sichuan Beef Short Rib: No One on Earth can top this dish, a meat that melts in your mouth and does not need any chewing, Prepared with PERFECTION. A must try... honesty
My second favorite dish is the "Braised Seafood Curry Rice"; really the best I ever tried, and I tried plenty.
My favorite Sake is "Soto Junmai Daiginjo". Served chilled. Very smooth and not dry nor sweet.
Service is top notch. Ambience is great. Price matches the perfected dishes.
OK if you are into Cantonese (No Taste)
High Priced Food that has no indication of being Chinese except via the presentation. The Food has no taste, plain, which is what is expected by it being Cantonese Food.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful!
This was a first for me. Ususally when I want chinese food I order take out. Well, this is definitely not take out. It is a very upscale fine dining experience. Here's what they got right. The decor, elegant and tasteful. The waitstaff, knowledgable and attentive. The atmosphere mature and the music was low so no shouting to be heard like most restaurants. One special touch I'll mention is they offer a very small upholstered chair for your purse to rest on. I loved that! The food is creative and delicious. I had the lamb chops and whatever they were marinated in is the reason I will go back. My only issue had nothing to do with them. But we could not find the restaurant, and the staff at the Wynn were useless.
Be the first to ReplyA Michelin rating means nothing
You would think a Michelin star guarantees a great experience. So did I when I picked this restaurant to celebrate a special evening with my wife. We got off to a bad start..... the hostess was rude. She wouldn't give us a table by the window, but our very next party of two were given the exact same table when they refused to take their original table and made the exact same request. We were quite upset with this for starters. My wife is a vegetarian and I made sure to let them know that when I made the reservation. She picked from the very limited choices available on the menu, but the dish was undercooked. Then she was offered a replacement but even the second dish was so so. She returned from the dinner hungry. Overall a bad evening for us. Very disappointed, not going back here!
