No just no
Steak frittes bad Marsala cold. Do not recommend. Restaurant looks nice. Great scotch selection. Food subpar. Menu very eclectic. Made me 😔 . I hoped for more. Staff very friendly but kitchen needs to step up.
Be the first to ReplyGreat brunch!
My husband and I went for Sunday brunch. We go there early, so they weren't full and the restaurant was not loud, which we appreciated. My husband had the duck hash with was fabulous (but would have been better with paoched eggs instead of scrambled) and I had the Cuban sandwich. Both of our meals were great, the coffee was phenomenal and our service was great. We will definitely return!

A group of friends visited the Wine Dive on Saturday, Aug 20th to celebrate a friend's bday and had the WORST experience I have ever encountered at a restaurant. We each ordered a cocktail, a couple appetizers for the table, and our meals. The server was fantastic (did not catch his name) and the drinks were great..shout out to the bartender...and this is where the evening took a turn. Upon our food arriving, the birthday girl was displeased with the burger (no bun) that she ordered. It was overcooked but somehow the bacon ground in it was rubbery. The burger had a texture and color that gave the appearance of being steamed vs grilled and had no discernable amount of the relish or aoili. The table convinced her to return it, as it was her bday and deserved to enjoy her dinner. Shortly after returning the burger the Manager on duty (her name started with an M) stormed to the table with her hand on her hip and demanded we tell her what was wrong with the burger to "ensure we don't return anything else" but never once asked what she could do to make it better or asked if she'd like something else. After explaining what she didn't like about the burger the manager responded with "this is our best seller." For several minutes she stood at the table, getting increasingly louder and more rude, even being asked to leave our table many times but continued to cause a scene in her own place of work. To make matters worse, the other meals at the table were also lackluster. The lamb burger was over cooked and flavorless. The crab cakes were soggy and the risotta had raw chunks of onion. Neither of which were sent back for fear of being yelled at by the manager! In an effort to quickly remedy this situation we received our tabs and left. The manager refused to provide the owner contact information. We were a table of disable veterans, accents, and tattoos. I have no doubt that this was a classic case of discrimination and had we "looked" like everyone else, we would have never been treated in this manner. The server lost out on what would have been a much larger tab with more drinks and desserts and the Wine Dive has lost 5 customers (hopefully many more) over a single hamburger patty! If I was the owner of this establishment I would be embarrassed and ashamed to know that my manager treated my customers in this way.

Ugh so Ive been here three or four times. Each time I get more disappointed. But actually my first experience here was great-Valentines day 2021. The food was exceptional as well as the service. But the subsequent times have been a disappointment. The sangria is okay but the food a disappointment. Salads not particularly fresh, service sometimes slow and unorganized. I had a bar tender question my id and I found it very off putting. (He asked if I had another ID…um excuse me? I only have one ID because it’s valid.) Once we had a larger party and our appetizers got mixed up and entrees came out almost 15 minutes apart. I just really don’t ever want to go back. There are much better restaurants to spend money at in Wichita. The steak frites are just okay. but at $28 it should be better than just okay.

I go to the Wine Dive a lot, like maybe one time a month or so, and why do I do that? Because the food always tastes the same (very good), the ambience is fantastic, and the WINE list is endless and amazing (and they always have specials that are budget friendly). The dishes are a bit spanish but also have traditional things like steak, salads, fish, etc but also Spanish flair. Great high end service always.

Good selection of foods for all family members. Salads, fish, pasta, steak. Kids and babies are ok here. Nice patio for dining in warmer weather.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, Solid drinks, and AMAZING SERVICE!
We went for lunch yesterday and had a super meal. Appetizers were the Frites and the deviled eggs. For lunch the four of us had the Cuban sandwich with Fattoush salad, the steak sandwich with more fries, the fried egg sandwich with fries, and the pork banh mi with caesar salad. For dessert we had the chocolate torte. For drinks, 2 French 75s, a negroni, an Anchor Steam, and a mimosa. All of the food was fantastic and each dish was recommended by Donna, our waitress. She was very knowledgeable and had an opinion that clearly was spot on. The drinks were also good and remarkably affordable. You will NOT be disappointed if you go to this place. The meal was also perfectly reasonable in price.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, great atmosphere
The food and the atmosphere is wonderful. It is definitely off of the beaten path. We had the drunken bread as an appetizer. It was good if you like thyme. I had the steak sandwich with sweet potato fries, a friend had the steak sandwich with regular fries and hubby had the burger with bacon. The sweet potato fries have truffle oil so if you don’t like truffle flavor, don’t get the sweet potato fries. The food arrived very quickly and the service was awesome. The hamburger was a little underdone for hubby but was perfect for me! The steak sandwiches were great. We got them without the blue cheese but the sandwich was not dry at all. We will return to this place!

I chose Wine Dive for my Birthday dinner with extended family. Ages ranged from 14 to 70. There was something for everyone. They had a good selection of gluten free offerings as well. The s’mores were a fun dessert among the younger attendees. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend.

On a five-day trip to Wichita, my wife and I chose the Wine Dive for one of our dinners. We chose the Wine Dive, because it appeared from the menu that we could sample different wines and have small plates to share. It was probably the second best of five dinners we had in Wichita. To create a "tapas" experience, we selected courses that we could share with different wines. We started with the Grilled Avocado (two grilled avocado halves stuffed with cream cheese, pico de gallo, and Norwegian smoked Trout). It was perfect, because it had two halves easily shared. This was a very tasty dish and went well with a glass of chardonnay. For our next course we ordered the Crab Cakes. Again, perfect because the plate came with two. The crab cakes were very good, and the asparagus & shrimp risotto was especially good. We paired this with a glass of tempranillo. As we were starting to feel full, we made our last course their Cheese and Fruit Platter to cleanse our palates. Oh my, the platter was HUGE! It could have easily fed four people, so we did not come close to finishing it. It had a very nice assortment of cheeses but could have benefited from higher quality crackers. The atmosphere at the Wine Dive is VERY casual. We dressed business casual and were overdressed. There is one downside to eating dinner there though. There were a number of times when cars parked in the lot or were leaving from the lot that the car headlights glared into the dining room; that was a bit distracting and distasteful for a dining experience. They should close the shades at night to prevent that from happening. With as many wines as they have to offer, we were surprised that they didn't offer wine flights. That would be a nice addition to the wine menu. Also, they might want to consider smaller versions of some of their offerings to accommodate those seeking a tapas experience.

Very friendly staff, lots of pescatarian and vegetarian options. Don’t let the decor fool you, the food is always fabulous and keeps me wanting to come back and try more dishes!
