Well Season | Dim Sum Seafood Sacramento Reviews from The Last Year

Ok first of all I like to say we seen parking lot full so most of the time that says good food!!! We went in and the place looks nice and a big tv screen! We sat down then came all the servers with all the different dim some! They had all our favorites plus we tried a few different ones!! Over all food was really good! The only reason. I gave 3 stars instead of 4 os because of them talking a15 percent service charge tip with out asking me!!! I usually tip 18 percent or more but when I asked about this they said that's what they do!! I said ok well they gonna miss out on the extra and I left it at that!! I understand if it was a big party of people but only 3 should be our choice not there's !! But if I'm in this area I will try them again!! Prices weren't to bad !!

The food is good but soooo expensive!I went there with my brother & for just 2 people & 6 plates of dimsum & a $13 soap it cost us $85.

Arrived too late for the carts, but ordered through their menu! Everything was perfect, tasty, and quick. Always love coming here for when I am craving dim sum!
This spot has become a staple for our family.
When we want dim sum with a good variety, good service and lighting, not a long wait, we come here. Selection of items are fresh and if there's something you can't find, ask for it. They will bring it to your table if they have it.
Food was OK.
Can't say it's great, but I'm a bit of a dim sum snob. Kinda pricey for what you get but MOST EVERYTHING IS OVERPRICED THESE DAYS! (Mini rant) The automatic 15% service charge is a negative to my way of thinking. For larger groups, I get it -- kinda... Tipping should be based on service. Admittedly, the service was only so-so, but I would have tipped at least that much myself. I just don't like the idea of being REQUIRED to do that, especially when I'm paying a good sum for the food already. Speaking of large groups, this place can handle fairly large groups, so that IS a consideration and a plus for them. Most dim sum places in Sacto also have larger tables, but when you come from a huge family -- it's a big consideration. When we saw the large crowd waiting, we thought we hit pay dirt. LOL. Afterwards, I read reviews (should have read FIRST) and agree that it might be because there aren't a whole lot of options in that area. We know folks in the area, so we will probably give it a try again. Dim Sum places are scarce -- average or not...

The restaurant automatically added service charges to the bill, even when we have only 4 people in the group. My bill was added 15% without my consent. Tips should be optional and based on the actual service. There is no guarantee the owner(s) will distribute the total "service charges" to the employees. Very bad practice. Customers should be notified up front about the mandatory service charges, not at the end. This is deceiving.
Went for dim sum and pork and egg congee.
Dim sum was average. They were really pushing shumai with abalone and the beef offal. Turns out the abalone in the shumai was just a little sliver on top. The beef offal was pretty blah and just a small shallow bowl. Now the pork and egg congee. The congee itself had lots of big clumps of mushy rice as if they didn't even bother to stir it while it was being cooked. The egg was just bunch of very little chards of egg. Almost indistinguishable. The crazy thing is the bowl was $13.95. Most places I've been to charge $8-10 and were way better. In summary make sure you check prices first. The items listed above were way overpriced for what you're getting. Definitely not worth it in all instances. This place has always been hit and miss. But the prices they charge it's a miss...
Bad service.
I don't drink tea but they charged me for it. I asked for cold water but didn't get it. They charged service fee for a party of 3 so pay attention n don't add more tip. Food is nothing special. The outside layer is too thick too much flour.

I believe that many elderly people who do not understand English and do not check the bill when checking out have been deceived into double tips
Food was decent.
Prices slightly higher than average. Facility is pretty nice. service was sub par and an automatic 18% tip is added to the bill when menu says 15% will be added. this is probably why the service was not great, they are guaranteed 18% already. Understaffed like many other businesses nowadays. large parking lot with free parking adjacent to large busy strip mall. may go back to try again but Sac not much further has several better choices.
I have been looking for a good Dim -sum place in Elk Grove
I have been looking for a good Dim -sum place in Elk Grove and I found it. This place is the best for authentic Dim-sum, they have all the favorites. Way better service than Journey to the dumplings. My cravings were satisfied, for sure worth it and the portions are good and I will be coming back!
My favorite dim sum place.
Foods great, people are nice and straight forward, good place to bring family
Good was mediocre.
Servers very lacking. 3 of us and they added gratuity. FINE!! No problem at all what so ever. What blew me away was when I asked for a copy of the itemized receipt cause it was $165.00 for 3 people and we didn't order that much. The server just about yelled at me and told me no. So I snatched the one out of her hand, not my proudest moment. But as a paying customer I need to know what I'm paying for. We had 8 dishes total and 2 sodas. We were charged for 4 sodas, 9 did sum dishes and 3 entree dishes. Clearly not our check! The lady in the front "manager" "owner" who knows cause at this point no one wanted to speak English. And don't come at me I am Asian myself. And I was calm through the whole ordeal. They spoke for a few minutes then I was handed another check for what we ordered. No apologies, nothing. And still the gratuity was added LOL. Y'all need to do better. Been in the service industry myself for years!!!! And I would never or have never! Treated my paying guests in such manners. Thanks, bye never visiting your establishment again.

HORRIBLE PLACE EVER!!! It was our first time btw! Walked in were seated and WERENT given a menu to begin with we thought they only had dim sum it wasn't even good at all more than half the times either tasted like perfume or sink water! I only noticed there was a menu because I saw chefs bringing out food to people on other tables. So we decided to get chow mein and fried rice and were charged $100!!!!! DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE THEY ARE JUST THERE TO STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!

When you walk in this restaurant, you will be greeted to be sat down, typical restaurant etiquette. Round tables everywhere used for dim sum style, giant tables are available. They will choose a place for you to sit and hand you two pieces of paper. The papers are for dim sum orders and potential restaurant cooked orders separate from the din sum menu. They also have a fresh water aquarium, so you can pick fresh seafood fish, dungeons crabs or any specials they may have in there. The food was 3 out of five stars which is fair and nothing special but definitely scratches the dim sum itch. We ordered and sat down and so did the staff. It must have been lunch for them because they took an hour to cook our dish we ordered which was beef sautéed in bitter melon. And was literally done with most our dim sum starters that we were already full before the main dishes. Overall great dishes but bad service took the extra stars away.
Very good traditional Chinese cuisine.
The staff is very friendly and the prices are very reasonable.
Sunday Dim Sum
Average quality dim sum. A little oily for my tastes. Got a bit of a MSG headache after the meal. Overall seems very popular.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
