Be careful if you have food allergies!
At the MIA E terminal gate Versailles, ordered a sandwich with no cheese due to medical condition. They gave a sandwich with cheese cooked into the bread. I told the lady I canโt eat cheese. She stated it didnโt have cheese. I opened up the sandwich and showed her the cheese, and I explained I canโt eat cheese at all. She then took the sandwich and started plucking the cooked in cheese out of the bread and handed it back to me. I then explained that I canโt have any cheese or contact with cheese in my food again. She got pretty irate and made a new sandwich after skimping on the other items. Very disappointing getting service that doesnโt take food allergies into consideration.

Friends forced me to come here. Loud and crowded. Food so so. Bakery was unimpressive. Some things were not labeled and numbers were called out in Spanish.

Amazing coffee, guava and cheese pastry was a highlight too. Service was super friendly. We loved it and were very glad we made the trip to this iconic place.

Not authentic Cuban food and not good food in general. The soup came luke warm and the Cuban sandwich was awful. We got one other dish (yucca) that was also terrible. Aside from the food, the ambience was zero.

The worst place to eat ,the Pan de Bono, taste terrible , It is a disgrace to the true Colombian bonus bread and the associates are the worst ๐

Came in her for dinner and drinks. Had a very good meal with a friendly waiter and staff. There was a long wait for a table but you can sit outside and order drinks while waiting. Prices were very good (except for the drinks which were a bit expensive). Overall a good meal but much better Cuban restaurants in Miami. It is famous so worth checking out once.
Be the first to ReplyGood but a bit overrated
Wanted to go here for the history of the place. It was nice to sit outside with a mojito while waiting for our table. The service was extremely fast. From the time we sat down till we left couldn't have been more than 30 minutes. They sure know how to move people through. The food was just "ok". We had the Versalies combo for an appetizer. The cilantro dipping sauce is what made them. Delicious! My husband and I both had the large version of their famous Cuban sandwich as a meal. It was huge! I took half my meal with me for the next day. It was good, the bread definitely made the sandwich. In my opinion, it was just a glorified ham sandwich. Glad I got to try it, but would not need to go back.
Be the first to ReplyNot really worth the wait, but fun to experience once.
We arrived a little after 1pm on a Saturday afternoon, parked easily across the street and added our name to the wait list and were told to expect a 40 minute wait. It was quite crowded outside but there were plenty of tables with umbrellas available for seating. We sat at a table in the sunshine, chatting with others, until our name was called. Once inside the restaurant, it was quite a surprise to see such an outdated space that felt much more like a diner than a well known restaurant. As we were shown to the table, it almost felt like an airport tarmac, with hostesses using walkie talkies and waitresses waving down the party and pointing to where to sit. We were provided menus and when we ordered our meal, our waitress appeared very confused when I requested a Cuban sandwich without the bread (I am gluten free). Our appetizers arrived quickly and unfortunately, so did our entrees not even five minutes later. I was very sad to see my meal when it arrived- as it had not been heated. I had to flag down our waitress because the man that delivered our plates did not seem to understand my request to heat the meat and cheese. The sweet plantains were delicious, and the value of the food was unbeatable for Miami. We did need to request our check, which I found strange considering the huge wait outside. Overall, Iโm glad that we experienced it once, but itโs not worth a repeat visit considering all of other options in the city.
Be the first to ReplyA visit to remember our stay in Miami almost 50 years ago -- Versailles Restaurant still serves good food
The food was good and our grandchildren enjoyed their grilled fish dinner. My husband and I enjoyed remembering what it was like in Miami when we were last there in the late 70s. Versailles restaurant was part of that memory lane experience and was greatly enjoyed.
Be the first to ReplyFamous Cuban Restaurant
Famous Cuban restaurant in Little Havana- must go for the authentic Cubano sandwich. Parking is free at their adjoining parking lot. The decor is curious as there are lots of mirrors (think Palace of Versailles, France) but ordinary tables and chairs, cafe style. Prices are reasonable and service is prompt. If you are not a ham lover avoid the Cubano sandwich as it is loaded with ham. However, there are lots of other choices on the menu.

Hands down you're going to have to wait to get in! Plan to queue for up to 45 minutes.... and no, you cannot call and book ahead! They don't make exceptions. That in and of itself displays this restaurant's popularity. Long story short you won't be disappointed. Whatever torture you endured inhaling gorgeous food aromas while waiting will be well rewarded. When you're done eating they'll kinda expect you to go on your way so others can also enjoy. In my opinion it's only fair.

We got here early for lunch, and had a short wait. The restaurant was packed but service was excellent and food wonderful. We had the Cubano Regular sandwich, Ropa Viejo, with plantains, rice, black beans. Flan and Cafe Cubano for desert. Wonderful! Highly recommend.

I came here after hearing so many good reviews about how this was the best Cuban place in Miami. The food was great and the service is great too. They really have the place running like a well-oiled machine. Also, the prices are very reasonable.
Be the first to ReplyBest Cuban food in Miami
Hands down the best cuban food I've ever had. Service was amazing, and food was off the chain. I will come back every time I visit Miami. We had the empanadas, calamari, cuban sandwich, and paella Versailles. Everything was delicious. Ask for the cilantro sauce with the sandwich, it's so good.. I always order the empanadas at cuban restaurants. They were so good but the beef was over the top. This place will not disappoint. A must try in Miami.

I know you have read it before, but donโt donโt donโt miss this restaurant! There is a reason there is a line out the door and a one hour wait! The food here is so good. Very authentic Cuban food. Our server Wilma, helped us with the menu and deciding what we wanted. I had the โClassicโ, which had large chunks of pork, Picadillo, ham croquette, tamale, and rice and beans. Delicious! No matter how good it is, donโt forget to leave room for dessert. The flan and Tres leches cake was unbelievably good as well. The prices are very reasonable and the service was excellent. Glad I live on the west coast. If I lived within 100 miles of this place, I would have to eat there once a week.

We read about the restaurant online and figured we would give it a try on a recent visit to Miami. Glad we did. The food was great and the service welcoming. The bakery next door was pretty wonderful too.
Be the first to ReplyThe classic Cuban restaurant in Miami
I love Versailles, and I eat here whenever I'm in Miami. First off, we always go for breakfast at the coffee bar. It's cheap and amazing. Fresh squeezed orange juice, guava pastelitos (you must try these if you never have), and either cafe cubano, or cortadito, or coffee with evaporado. You just show up, take a number, get your food, and take it to a nearby table. The coffee here is as good as any place in europe. Amazing roasted flavor, and with sweetened condensed milk, or sugar, or plain, you'll want another. At breakfast it's always crowded with local workers, locals, and some tourists, but the staff keeps it moving fast. Ok, so that's the deal for breakfast...For lunch or dinner, it's always crowded, but the restaurant is enormous, and they know how to get people in and out. Even if the waiting area is packed, the most I've had to wait was like 20 minutes, so don't be discouraged if you see a crowd. I usually go for lunch, since it's informal. Inside, it's not fancy, but the wait staff are all seasoned veterans, and they will take care of you. The menu is large, with cuban classics. They have wine, beer, mojitos, etc. I always get the lechon asado (roast suckling pig), and it's like the best pork you'll ever eat. Also comes with a crunchy piece of fried pig skin, which is awesome. Other food like chicken, etc, is great. For dessert, the flan is awesome. Tres leches (cake soaked in three sweet milks) is awesome. Again, you have to get coffee of some sort. Service is prompt, you can get a quick meal, or hang out over coffee, no problem. It's always packed with locals and tourists. You'll see cuban families out for large meal together, and also japanese tourists taking selfies. The staff has you covered either way. Really, this place is an institution, it's a must-visit at least once. And for me, it's my everyday breakfast place when I'm in Miami.

Come early as this place fills up. We stopped here for breakfast and were seated promptly. It took a little while to get service, but all in all, it was very good. We had scrambled eggs with croquettes and a breakfast sandwich.

Very good food! We enjoyed it! The price was very reasonable. Highly recommend a visit. I enjoyed the shrimp creole and ordered a side of black beans and vegetables. It also came with sweet plantains. YUMMY๐

We got there a few minutes after noon on a Sunday. The line was long, but moved quickly. It was our first time there and enjoyed our food. We both got a Cuban sandwich. It was a good amount of food and very good. For dessert, we tried their tres leches cake and dulce de leche cheesecake. Both were great, but if I had to pick out of the two - the cheesecake was bomb! This is definitely a good place to stop by for some food!
Be the first to ReplyGood food, good value
This is on the main drag of Little Havana but too far from the Big Bus stop there to walk so it's nice that they have a large free parking lot. We arrived at 1:00 on a Monday and had a 20 minute wait. We ordered assorted meat empanadas for appetizers and I got the ham Croquette sandwich with yuca con mojo [tasted like potoes] and a guava mojito while my husband got the Calle Oche Special and we took home the tres leches cake [pound cake smothered in milk and topped with whipped cream].All the food was excellent and inexpensive. Our waitress was helpful but not as friendly as the one we had at Old's down the street.
Be the first to ReplyDonโt Go to Versailles
Do not go to Versailles Restaurant in Miami! The staff is rude and ignorant, they do not understand or fill your order correctly unless you speak Spanish, they fill your order Wrong every time, and then they insult you if you try getting them to correct your order. Bad attitude and Bad Service Every Time! Do Not Go!
Be the first to ReplyGreat eats, lots of people, but they move people through quickly
The line was long to get into the restaurant. However, they are extremely organized, and things went quickly. The food and ambience were excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at the restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth the hype.
We stopped in for a quick bite at the Miami airport and the food was awful! Went to the cafe 42nd St. in the past not impressed. Too expensive and not worth the hype.
Be the first to ReplyThe best guava empanadas
A friend took us to the restaurant, we had only a few minutes and we asked for a cortadito, It is like an expresso cofee, it was delicious, but the guava empandas, were so , so delicious. Before leaving Miami, the same day, I returned for more empanadas. Friendly staff
