The food here is excellent, but the reason for the three
The food here is excellent, but the reason for the three stars is the service. The servers are never friendly, maybe that's just the vibe they are going for? Additionally, their posted hours of operation are not accurate - meaning, the restaurant opens when it opens willy nilly. I've gone there at opening a few times and was turned away and told they'd open at 10:15.

I hadn't been to Vernetti before but I assure you I will be going back. The service great, everyone was incredibly kind and attentive. I loved the intimate ambiance of their smaller space, lovely for a nice romantic dinner for two, a group of friends or a solo date for a glass of wine. I had their Linguine alle Vongole - delicious. I will be going back for it and the incredible wine our server suggested, the name escapes me and I don't see it on their online menu. Anyway, as a lover of Italian food this easily has become a must visit for me when in the area or just because. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyI go to Larchmont a lot.
I live 10 minutes away, but for whatever reason, I'd never eaten at Vernetti and have been wanting to for a long time. I finally made it out there and the service was shit. There was a power outage across from the restaurant so they were busy since they still had power. But we sat there and watched 3 tables that arrived after us order, get served, and leave...meanwhile, no one was taking our order. We waited one hour. One hour and all we had was our drink order. We got up and walked out. The hostess could give a rat's ass. Not even an apology. WTF.
Be the first to ReplyService was outstanding, some of the best in LA.
Ambience inside and out very pleasing FOOD! Extremely disappointing. Pork chop dry and over cooked. Arugula salad could feed a whole family, nothing unique about it. A little pricey for what it is.

We live in the neighborhood and have been supporters of Vernetti since its opening, enjoying many celebrations, always with great food and service. During the pandemic, we often brought in food while restaurants were under lock down. We've met the owner numerous times and have been pleased to see his restaurant (which took over the space of the long beloved Girasole) find a home on Larchmont.Unfortunately something has changed with management and the devotion to customer service has been sacrificed. This past Valentine's Day, I made a reservation for a table outside (as this was the only option available). It was a little cold by LA standards but we knew there would be space heaters. We arrived and the hostess took us to a table, some distance between two heaters. There were other unoccupied tables available directly below space heaters so we requested to be moved. The hostess came back out and said it would be impossible to move since the tables had already been assigned. "But the other people aren't here...doesn't make sense why you can make the change" to which the hostess responded something to effect of "this is our policy" and offered to cancel our reservation. We cancelled. I've reached out to the owner to express our disappointment and suggest how his staff might think about better treatment of clients. I haven't heard back.On the upside, we are fortunate to have a number of other restaurants in the neighborhood, far more appreciative of our continued patronage -- here's looking at you Osteria Mamma and Marino Ristorante!

Came here for brunch on a Sunday around 11:30am with a friend and was seated immediately. The menu had a decent selection of dishes, mainly consisting of classic brunch dishes. I ordered the Americano and my friend ordered the House Frittata. I found the the bacons and potatoes to be well seasoned and the toast to be pretty standard. My friend enjoyed her frittata overall. The service was just OK. There weren't too many other parties at the restaurant but we waited for some time to have our orders taken. Our waiter also didn't have the warmest approach when he took our orders.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a three star review but we considered two stars
This is a three star review but we considered two stars because of the price. Very nice staff. Good wine list. But of all the food we had, none were a standout. Roasted beet crostini (ricotta was bland), little gem Cesar (insanely fishy), broccolini (not bad but nothing special), linguini vongole (kinda stale). The lemon preserve spaghetti was interesting and different, but ultimately was too bitter with the preserves and needing something more than what was there to balance it out. There are so many GREAT Italian places in LA and this place can't really compete. Again, nothing we had was BAD (and honestly I'm not a harsh critic) but it was all just...okay.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a wonderful place.
AMAZINGLY sweet service. We always get a table. Perfect for brunch on Sunday after church. Food is so so so yummy. Nothing to complain about. Clean restrooms, beautiful and inviting atmosphere, & best of all delicious food. Lattes are always perfect. My go to is the frittata but I've also had the corned beef - *chefs kiss*!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing restaurant.
Amazing staff. The owner even stopped by our table to check on us. Loved that. I would highly recommend and definitely will me back.Pay no attention to any one star reviews. Completely wrong.
Be the first to ReplyI don't know why there are reviews with less than 4 stars.
Our experience was pretty phenomenal! My friends and I had an early seating (5:30pm) this past Tuesday. We were seated and served promptly. We ordered the salumi platter (a large, shareable platter of delicious meats, cheeses, crostini and vegetables), the deviled egg crostini & cannellini bean crostini and the little gem Caesar (delicious!) for appetizers. For mains, we chose the Bolognese special, Tortolloni quattro formaggi, Rigatoni con salsiccia and Bucatini pesto alla genovese con gamberi. The four of us are foodies and all agreed that our dishes were pretty spectacular! Portions are beyond generous! If you have question about coming here, just know, that we were the first people sat and within 30 minutes, all tables were full! That's a great statement for the restaurant itself! That said, looking around throughout our time there, no one was without water or food, so if there's a debate about service, it's phenomenal for Los Angeles (our water and wine were never empty).Shout out to Sammy, server extraordinaire! He made our visit extra special and we wish we could have invited him to indulge with us!

Made a dinner reservation for a Friday night, show up and was seated right away. Waited 10 minutes before flagging down a server to take our orders. They brought bread- loved that. Later tried to charge us $4 for the bread?? Asked the server what that was about and he said, "you ate the ciabatta, no?" I never ordered the ciabatta? If you're going to bring me bread I didn't ask for, it's supposed to be free. How are you going to charge me for something I never ordered? Still trying to wrap my head around whatever the hell that was about. Food comes, portions are decent, food quality is solid... but not as good as surrounding Italian restaurants with similar prices. Service was not good, no one checked on us about drinks, took forever to flag someone down and beg for Parmesan. All in all... not a good experience. A bummer because it has so much potential. Great location and who doesn't want a great neighborhood Italian spot? But this isn't it. Hostess was exceptional- friendly and ended up waiting on us more than our server. It's not often (ever?) I think, "I could have done without that dinner." But I could have done without that dinner.

OMG!!! Delicious food is an understatement!! I am so happy I insisted eating out tonight. My husband had the pasta dish with 5 different cheeses and I ordered the grilled octopus. I highly recommend ordering the bread, olive oil, and vinegar; Trust me it's worth the $4. Great food, kind waiter, and nice ambiance!
Be the first to ReplySo here's the good the bad and the ugly about Vernetti:
So here's the good the bad and the ugly about Vernetti: the portions for most offerings are very generous and for the most part, the food is well prepared and tasty and fairly authentic as Italian food goes. The main course menu items are big enough to share (especially the chicken dishes, the salmon, and the steak). The wine list is good and the ambiance is pleasant. The bad: the menu never changes or makes seasonal adaptions. As far as I know, the menu has never changed which seems odd. They could definitely change it up as it's become so monotonous. Don't really understand that. Some of the servers (Sammy) and hosts are outstanding, and others are a bit unpolished. Our server the other night didn't know what "al dente" meant? Really? The ugly: you have to practically beg for parmigiano. All and all, I would give 5 stars if they would just change up the menu a bit. Also, what happened to the old bread? Vernetti could really shine but they just seem lazy now.
Be the first to ReplyAMAZING SPOT.
The owner even reached out to me personally bruh, legendary! Gotta stop in here and grab a nice wine with some exceptional classic dishes including shrimp pastas (salads for vegans) and much more! This spot'll having you leaving something behind just so you have to come back and visit one more time. Stay eatin!
Be the first to ReplyGreat place, food and amazing atmosphere.
I'm a regular here. I usually come every day when I work in the area. The staff remembers you and is very friendly. Twice they have served me the wrong dish, however i never care since everything on the menu is amazing. Even though they were apologetic, I can't ever get mad at a yummy surprise. Stop reading and go here.
Be the first to ReplyHad a great lunch here with some good friends.
The food was so fresh and tasty!! Fernando our server was very attentive. Will definitely be back!!
Be the first to ReplyWe live really close to Larchmont, so we've been to
We live really close to Larchmont, so we've been to Vernetti a handful of times over the years. It's a pleasant restaurant, if not particularly exciting, and an easy last-minute reservation. The interior is attractive and comfortable, with big windows looking out onto Larchmont, and now there's a big outdoor set-up that probably doubles the dining space. It feels less makeshift than most COVID patios and I wouldn't be surprised if it stuck around. Service is generally good and I like the relaxed atmosphere. I'm also glad it serves alcohol, though of course it doesn't have a liquor license (the neighborhood would never allow it). There aren't many places you can get a glass of wine on Larchmont. The food is decent. There's a complimentary bread basket, and if you want appetizers, the fresh burrata and baked ricotta are solid. The ricotta is rich and warm, served with acacia honey, sautéed peppered apple, and crushed pistachios. The burrata comes with heirloom tomatoes, basil, olive oil, and reduced balsamic.Mostly, we get pasta here. I've enjoyed the rigatoni con salsiccia, with Italian sausage, sautéed rapini, sweet peppers, and Calabrian chili, and the linguine alla vongole, with Manila clams, white wine, garlic, and crushed red pepper. I've gotten the bucatini pesto alla Genovese con gamberi a couple of times. Once, it was fantastic, and once, kind of bland. It comes with grilled jumbo shrimp, basil, pine nuts, garlic, and pecorino. The gnocchi di spinaci is great, with fresh spinach, house ricotta, butter, and sage. If you like a stuffed pasta, try the ravioli di zucca with oven-roasted pumpkin, sage, and browned butter. My husband sometimes gets the tortolloni quattro formaggi with burrata, pecorino, house ricotta, fontina, white wine, and chives. It's very heavy and cheesy, if that's your thing. One time, I skipped pasta and opted for the grilled octopus, served with creamy white beans and a fennel and cabbage slaw. I don't know if I just got unlucky, but this was pretty bad, the octopus tough and rubbery. For dessert, I like the panna cotta with fresh strawberry "composta" (surely this is a typo for "compote"?), though I would also recommend hitting Salt & Straw or Jeni's after dinner.I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at Vernetti's, but it's a nice place and it's right here. I imagine I'll keep coming back as long as we're both in the neighborhood.
Be the first to ReplyThe SERVICE WAS FANTASTIC!!! The food - just ok.
This place is quite expensive so we really expected better food! We ordered two plates of the buccatini pesto with shrimp and an order of grilled veggies. The veggies were nicely seasoned and grilled well. The pasta was NOT GOOD! Pasta a bit too al dente. The pesto was dry. We asked for more oil olive but that didn't help. The shrimp were large but over cooked. Very nice outdoor dining area (if you don't mind staring at a huge Rite Aid sign and sitting near a stop sign where the cars are stopping and going next to your meal). Was definately not worth the price.

Food and ambiance are lovely! The arugula salad, ciabatta, and salmon plate were all fresh and flavorful. A tad overpriced in my opinion but that's personal preference.

Accidentally ended up here because my mom was hangry and we knew Larchmont village would have good and open restaurants. Didn't realize it was fine dining until the hostess asked if we had reservations. Screw it and THANK YOU you guys. She was laughing and smiling once she knew she would be fed and was in great spirits once she was eating. Also, my mom is a healthy food fan and she lived for the food. Everything was good, the brocollini was life, the wine was great, and the water was refreshing. Overspent a little, but thats my fault. This place saved me from committing matricide (its a joke). High five to the waiter and servers. Amazing all of them. 15/10 would recommend.

Wouldn't you agree that the burger in The picture looks delicious? Well, it's not unfortunately. It was super dry (Patty was over cooked - we asked for the beef to be cooked medium and it was cooked well done), beef and bun were both dry. French fries looked like they got fried twice. They were also cold. Service: slooooow.

This my official petition to add this dish to the permanent menu. Last nights meal was perfection. Also, the servers and host were lovely. Best meal of 2022! Hopefully more dishes like this to come.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my local favorites.
Before Covid this place had become complacent. They have now really stepped up their game. My favorite is the pasta with lemon zest. Give it a try.

Delicious and quaint spot! My husband has a gluten allergy and Vernetti was kind enough to respond to me on Instagram when I inquired about their gluten free options. The gluten free pasta is as delicious as the full menu. Our favorites include the Salumi Platter, Arugula Salad, Deviled Egg Crostini, Bucatini Pesto and Tagliatelle Mare e Monte (both still just as good with GF pasta). Enjoy!
