I've had ribs in different restaurants all over the States about 9 million times in my lifetime, since ribs are my favorite meal...that said, the best ribs I've ever had were in my hometown of Chicago, at Twin Anchors on Sedgwick.I like to consider this a locals place...although the secret has been out since forever, so out of towners frequent this cool neighborhood joint as well. This place has a long history and hasn't changed a bit in all the years I've been going there, and that's a good thing. Every single time I've eaten here has been a great experience. One memorable night, I had dinner here with two of my brothers and a few of their fraternity brothers, and we feasted on ribs, beer, cider for me, bread, slaw, creamed spinach, onion rings, baked potato, the works. It all was so freaking good, that I ate the entire full slab all by my little self. The jokes were flying at the table on how a skinny lady like me ate like a pig. lol But it was sooooooooo good, I couldn't contain myself. And yes, we had the decadent chocolate cake for dessert. It was one of the best nights of my life, even though I was so full, I could barely walk out the door.Service was excellent...we had to wait for a table for 6, so we stood at the bar (which is fun and part of the experience) and had drinks, while our mouths were watering, anticipating the succulent rib meat with zesty.Yeah, the zesty...ya gotta try the zesty. Ya like spice? Do the Prohibition.Funny how my Chicago accent comes out when I'm talking about my former home...who am I kidding? Chicago will always be my home.Twin Anchors rules...it should be on everyone's bucket list, and that includes you "out of towners."
