Delightful experience
Me and my partner and her daughter stopped today after walking the beach and we decided to pop in unfortunately they were fully booked but the supervisor was able to fit us in for two hours. We had crab claws for starters and steak and halibut for mains along with dessert and it was absolutely delicious. The environment was warm cosy and light and the staff were a delight to deal with. Totally blown away. Well done to all can't wait to go back! ☘️

I was so disappointed with the 48hr slow cooked short rib of beef. I couldn't cut it initially (steak knife provided) then even when I suceeded in cutting it, I couldn't chew it (I have all my teeth!) These things can (but shouldn't) happen and I would always be understanding and not make things difficult for my fellow guests on a celebratory night out as its as much about the company as the food, however it was the lack of any explanation or apology that disappointed me the most - totally unacceptable from the chef.
Be the first to ReplyReally Good Takeaway Fish & Chips!
After swimming in the nearby White Strand one evening we were famished and decided to try and grab a takeaway on our one and a half hour drive home. Passing thru the village of Doonbeg, we came across a takeaway, which is part of Tubridy's Bar & Restaurant. It advertised outside "Fresh Fish & Chips". We had to try this. Fillets of Fresh Hake battered in front of us and then cooked to perfection and served with Chips and Tartar Sauce. Really yummy! We will be back!
Be the first to ReplyWarm hospitality from an intelligent and articulate proprietor
We arrived in Donberg on Tuesday on the way back to Doolin with food we had bought at the only open restaurant, a Kebab place, since inexplicably and unexpectedly all restaurants in that town close on Tuesday and Wednesday. I walked into Tubridy’s and asked the proprietor if we could eat the food we had brought with a Guinness. He could not have been more kinder and more hospitable. Our host had inherited Tubridy’s and had expanded from a single room to a fine dining restaurant with patio and lots of amenities. He and his only competitor deal with the Tuesday/Wednesday closure by one opening on Tuesday, his neighbor, and Tubridy’s on Wednesday. Our think the hospitality was genuine and will be available to all.

Nipped in for a lovely pint of Guinness while my fish and chips order was being prepared in their chip shop. Fish and chips were excellent

Ate with family on Wednesday night. The seafood was exceptional. We had Crab claws and Prawn lakso and the cod. It was stunning. Recommend the mango dessert it was delicious. I cannot recommend fish courses enough. It was very busy but with good food and such quality it was worth the wait. Loved it !!

Very busy luckily booked in advance . A lovely size portion for the kids they loved there fish and chips and the homemade tartar sauce . The nicest risotto I ever had and as for the the fish special it was like been in the Mediterranean on holidays fresh and quite a big portion (it was on the bone ). Hopefully we will back again . Lovely girls and service as always .

Fantastic dining here. The Prawn Laksa was sublime and the rest of the food was delicious. We were well looked after by Susie and the rest of the staff. Great atmosphere in the restaurant. We will return.
Be the first to ReplyCead Mile Failte
The staff at Tubridy’s really know what ‘Cead Mile Failte’ means. Myself and my daughter were left stranded in Doonbeg due was an error in our booking accommodation dates. With two dogs in tow it was going to be impossible to find an alternative, however the staff rallied around and got busy making calls to find us a place to stay! Everyone got involved, special thanks to Clara who found us a bed for the night. We are so so grateful and thankful for the warmth of the Tubridy’s staff in Doonbeg ❤️ ⭐️ Had food from their take-out as we were too early for the restaurant. Really good quality and can be eaten in the outdoor area where you can also take your four legged friend 🐾🐶 Next visit we will definitely make a booking. Note to others: it is a popular spot so make a booking and don’t be disappointed 😋
Be the first to ReplyBest food in years!
We recently visited and I can honestly say it’s the best meal we have had in ages. Crab claws were fabulous. The flavours of all the sauces was Devine. Service was great our waitress was friendly. Would love to return if I’m in the area again.

I was treated to a birthday dinner recently in Tubridys by my wife,we had 2 friends with us. The atmosphere was comfy and the place was busy. We had prompt service and an ample menu to choose from for starters we had goats cheese tartlet (me) gorgeous, crabs claws divine, ravioli and roasted parsnip soup unreal. Mains were two steaks outstanding, two fish and chips outstanding also. Desert (i passed full up) apple crumble and amaretto panacotta beautiful.our waiter was friendly and chatty and attentive a gentleman. I can't recommend this experience highly enough and needless to say we will be back.
Be the first to ReplyNo Vegetables
Nice food but no vegetables?Really this is Ireland please give us our Veg. Asked the server and she said the Chef doesn’t do Veg? I just can’t understand this. I wouldn’t serve the most basic dinner at home without Veg. What’s going on?

We are traveling as a group of 30 and there was zero disappointment with the chef or the servers at Tubridys! I had the pan seared cod with prawn with sweet corn and courgettes. The Irish Coffee was the best I have had since arriving in Ireland. This family owned and operated restaurant is extraordinary.

Be the first to ReplyAnother highlight in West Clare
So, as I mentioned in my Old Bakehouse review Ireland was in the middle of a heatwave that had managed to run from Wednesday to Sunday. We had decided to go on a "beach holiday" back to Spanish Point beach and make the most of the incredible weather. On Friday we once again made our way back to the beach for the entire day of sunning and swimming and then once again made reservations for a beautiful dinner out. This time we were joined by another friend and we went back to Doonbeg Co. Clare and went to Tubridy's Bar and Restaurant. From the street all you see is the bar and you think...fish and chips and pub food. However, you would be fooled. Once you make your way through the pub you walk into a beautiful dining room that is very upscale and soothing. We had reservations for 6 pm and when we arrived we were seated. The place was already humming and the restaurant was quickly filling up. We placed our orders and then we waited for our dinners. We did order starters. I had the ravioli stuffed with crab...folks this was beautiful. My only disappointment was that there wasn't more of it. Mary and our friend Ellen split the crab claws. Everything was fresh. Simply delicious. The only disappointment was that we had to wait for 45 minutes for dinner. We suspect that the order wasn't placed right after taking the order but, I must say the food that came out was worth the wait. I had rump of lamb as did Mary and our friend Ellen had Hake. Absolutely gorgeous!!!! Everything was cooked to perfection. And folks, that is what it's all about at the end of the day. The waitress/server was truly delightful and had a beautiful smile. It was the perfect end to a perfect day. This is another gem of West Clare and I highly recommend you make your way back to Doonbeg for a spectacular meal. Bon Appetit!
Be the first to ReplyReally good food, a great atmosphere and excellent service.
Highly recommend a visit here for food if in Doonbeg. A really comfortable restaurant. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, I had the lamb rump, so tasty!! Husband and son had the steak, both said it was delicious 😋 and my daughter had the goujons which she loved and it was a generous portion. I would advise booking in advance, it's a busy spot. We ate from their take away on our first night, this was really good too, the fish and chips were excellent but I thought the portion size on the chips could have been better for the price. Will definitely visit again in the future and will look forward to it when I get the chance 🙂
Be the first to ReplyHigh standard
We first visited this bar, 30 years ago. Tommy, still serves the pints. He has a talent for signing Guinness with your name. Beer is well-kept, especially the Guinness, which is smooth, (not like UK version). It has a high standard restaurant, with a good menu. If you want a takeaway, it also has that. Hygiene standard is 5*. Don't turn up, expecting to get into the restaurant, it gets full very quickly, so book early to avoid disappointment. Enjoy a pub, that has been run by the family since 1777.
