Trattoria Trecolori New York Reviews from The Last Year
Good place overall
Food was good. Service was excellent. However the red wine (we had a glass each) was too warm. I don’t understand that when they have warm temperatures outside the restaurants are not equipped to keep the red wine somewhere cooler,
Food and service good
Dined on the restaurant’s namesakes – Trecolori and Rigatoni Alla Trecolori. Food and service good. Visit spoiled a little initially by a noisy group at the back of the restaurant. But that improved when the noisiest lady left early, thank heaven. There was a big screen showing a football match (proper football – what the US calls soccer) at the front behind the bar, with the commentary turned down / off, which was paid much attention by the waiters when not attending to customers.
Great dining experience at Trattoria Trecolori last night!
Great dining experience at Trattoria Trecolori last night! We arrived a little after 5pm with no reservation but we were able to get a small bar table to enjoy our meal. My tortellini was excellent. Excellent service and lovely atmosphere.

The food was the closest I've ever had to the quality and flavors I ate in Rome. The food had a beautiful simplicity and purity in taste and quality. The place was elegant, the staff were professional and classy, and the price was reasonable. I highly recommend it.
Yes
This little restaurant is super nice for a romantic dinner!! The staff is very friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend !!

Amazing pasta, friendly staff, seated quickly and served quickly!! Italian staff!! Reasonable cost!!
Relaxing Italian in Midtown
Service was great--friendly and accommodating with good advice on wines and food. Very nice wine list and reasonably priced. The decaf coffee I had at the end of my meal was the best coffee I've had in recent memory. Past dishes were perfectly done and flavorful (and not drowning in oil or cheese). Waiter was friendly and on the job in all respects. Enjoyable last evening of our NYC trip!
Consistently delivers on flavor and service!
We visited Trattoria Trecolori twice in one week on a recent stay in New York City. Entrees were delicious both times: we had Tortellini Alla Panna and Fetuccini Alfredo with Shrimp. Very flavorful with ample-sized servings. We spurged on dessert: the Tartufo was an absolute hit while the Tiramisu was less impressive. Service was attentive and prompt. We will definitely make an effort to dine here again when we return to New York City. Thank you for an excellent dining experience!
I took my mother here for Mother's Day.
She wanted Italian and I wanted to be close to the theatre so when we got out of the show we could walk to the restaurant and we did just that. I made my reservation on Resy, which was super easy. We actually got to the restaurant 30min ahead of our reservation time and we were quickly seated. I definitely appreciated that. We were greeted by the server rather quickly who showed us the drink menu and I decided on a bottle cause it's Mother's Day . Mom loves sweet wine so she chose the Moscato. It was only 6% alcohol so to me it was like drinking juice . Not even a buzz did I get. But Mom loved it and that was the point. Mom ordered the chicken parm and I ordered the chicken scarpariello. We really enjoyed the food. It was a really good serving size. I couldn't finish it all, neither could Mom, so to go boxes were in order. Overall I would go back. We had a wonderful dinner.
All around Italian winner!
Delicious dishes , generous portions, efficient service and reasonable prices make trattoria a great go to place for fine dining without breaking the bank! Sea food Appetizer was excellent as was lamb chops (4!!) . Wife’s chicken parm was tasty and generous portion allowed for sharing. We were seated at 6 p.n even without a reservation and were oromotly served. Try it…you won’t be disappointed!!
Yea this is legit.
Considered a different Italian spot but this was more convenient for where I was walkable. Pial greeted me right away and gave me menus. The bar was empty but it was "9 o' clock on a Saturday" (Billy Joel), and he told me the rush of patrons just left. They're next to several theaters so they get waves of business around those scheduled. Normally I'd question an empty bar but it made sense and was honestly welcomed. Like a sanctuary from midtown on Saturday. Great service. Thank you. Ambience not much but is authentic. Spend money in the deliverables. Did the NY strip and swapped pasta with garlic for the fries. That's my move. Excellent. Really nicely seasoned. Linguine cooked perfect. Nice and garlicky. Wish I was here longer to try more food and actual Italian they offer. Overall great experience. I'd recommend for sure. Shout out Pial. Keep it up. Ok after I just posted this they insisted I get a mini cannoli. He would not let me refuse. Over the top
My daughter and I had dinner here and it was delicious.
The gin and tonic was so fresh and yummy and light. The food was fresh as well and although it's in a busy area, with reservations we were seated immediately. The waiters and entire staff were very polite and helpful with choosing menu items. When I'm in NYC I will definitely return !
Menu could have a wider range !
2 beers, bread, lasagne and carbonara $120. It was nice but the carbonara sauce was a bit bland. Son said lasagne had sausage in it. This I can't confirm or deny as I don't like tomato so didn't try it. Menu very scarce and starters are for 2 people to share. I know garlic bread originates from america but was gutted it wasn't on the menu. Maybe it's a uk thing garlic bread with pasta !?. And no bruschetta ! Staff were very nice and polite.
We were looking for a different resturant in the NYC
We were looking for a different resturant in the NYC theater district area to dine before seeing "The Heart of Rock and Roll". We checked the web and came across Trattoria Trecolori on West 47the St. It received good reviews and ratings so we made a reservation. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and was immaculate. The homemade minestrone soup was hearty and full of flavor! We also tried the Mozzarella en Carrozza. Slight smokey flavor from the mozzarella with its soft milky texture made my taste buds happy. I ordered the American lamb chops, medium temperature. It was accompanied with fresh broccoli rabe. The lamb chops were perfectly grilled and had a rich, earthy, and robust flavor and accompanied with the earthy, slight garlic flavor of the broccoli rabe gave the of lamb a succulent savory flavor. My girlfriend ordered the chicken parmigiana, the chicken cutlet was thin and fried just like my grandmother used to make. Trattoria's sauce we one of the best I have tasted and the spaghetti was cooked perfectly....it dente! Our meal was ended our meal with a cup of cappuccino, macchiato and two mini cannolis. We would like to thank Arisvel for his attentive service! Bonus was that our meal was reasonably priced for NYC!

Frequent visitor, I love this restaurant!
Here is a wonderful Italian restaurant. The food is delicious, and the ambiance is outstanding. The piano player is the icing on the cake for this restaurant. The maitre d and the servers are accommodating! I moved to Asheville NC, and go there every June and December. Can't wait!
I think this is the third time I reviewed this restaurant.
Once we had a not so good meal and service but I have been here several times and otherwise always really liked everything about this restaurant. I went Wednesday, April 24, after a matinee. We were way early for our reservation so we sat at the bar... my daughter and me. We each had a glass of wine. Then decided to not wait for a table in the main dining areas and ate at the smaller round table up front. We paid for our drinks at the bar as they request and I left a tip. The bartender said something to me before we paid but I didn't hear bc it was crowded. We sat at our table and the bartender came over to tell us the tip was included and adjusted our bill. That alone was so professional, nice, so good... set the tone. Big kudos to that bartender. Our meal was delicious. We shared mixed anti pasta, veal scallopini and spaghetti bolognese. Prices are reasonable for the way prices are these days. Service excellent. I will be back!
Mediocre dinner
Unfortunately we didn't eat well. As Italians abroad we clearly don't try to find the quality and culinary skills of our country but we have tasted truly terrible pasta. Tortellini and grilled chicken breast acceptable. Maybe it was a bad evening but to be on the safe side we didn't go back.
Very nice surprise
Everyone feasted. There is no pizza, only real Italian dishes. The vongole pasta is delicious. There were 6 of us, each with a different dish and everyone was won over. The small entrance door does not, however, suggest a good restaurant. There were a lot of people, I think that in high season you must make a reservation
Another delicious meal!
We introduced a NYC friend to this restaurant (first time for her, lots of times for us), and they did not disappoint! Carlos is an extremely competent and helpful server, always watching, helping with advice and on top of everything. We enjoyed the Chicken tre funghi, Lasagna, and Salmone, with the tavola to start. All was excellent, well prepared and delicious. Wine prices are very reasonable! Cheese Cake is a treat. Thanks for a fun meal!
Trattoria Trecolori is one of the restaurants where it felt
Trattoria Trecolori is one of the restaurants where it felt like the restaurant ambiance and service were much better than the food itself. I personally did not enjoy the carbonara pasta, but I had an overall pleasant experience with a small group.
Great service.
Excellent food. Fast. Good prices. Would definitely eat here again. Appreciated being able to be sat without a reservation on a Friday. Everything from the bread course to dessert was great. Highly enjoyed!
In the heart of the theater district this is a little gem.
The food is wonderful, the ambiance charming, the service spectacular and the prices reasonable. Make reservations.
Very close to the square.
Sat at the bar because it was so busy! Pial the bartender and was the highlight of the evening. My food was absolutely divine but Pial made the whole visit worth it. His recommendations were perfect and he delivered some of the best service I've ever had!
Service was good and the ambiance of the place is very nice
Service was good and the ambiance of the place is very nice especially being so close to Times Square. The food was insanely expensive for what it was and was not worth the price. The sauce was good but seemed underseasoned and the pasta was very bland.
While it doesn't appear to be the vibiest buzziest spot,
While it doesn't appear to be the vibiest buzziest spot, this place feels like a classic. I read the reviews and saw some different opinions. I didn't expect the food to be so good. It's a comforting, familiar, home-cooked kind of vibe. We got the carbonara and the rigatoni. Both were incredible. I especially loved the carbonara but the creaminess of that with the tartness of the rigatoni's sauce was to die for. The smokiness of that pancetta was truly delish. Don't expect crazy novel dishes, they do the familiar to perfection. A solid serving size, and a solid tiramisu too. Great service. And complementary bread with olive oil? Sign me up!
Service was okay.
The restaurant looked nice, was relatively empty, and has a romantic feel to it. The carbonara was actually insanely good, perfectly seasoned and creamy. We also got chicken parm with spaghetti and a rigatoni dish, which were both also tasty, but the carbonara was actually heavenly. Of course, good came with warm bread and butter.
Very Good Excallent Food and Excellent Service.
Great place to eat and bring some beverages.
Another keeper
Good sized portions. Prompt service. Everyone was pleased with their meal. Carbonara was the best I’ve had in the US. Prices a bit lower than the other Italian restaurants nearby so we were expecting to adjust our expectations. Nice surprise - great food and reasonable prices in NYC!
Lovely, relaxed family meal out in NYC on Broadway
Lovely meal out, reserved by our front of house at the hotel we were staying at as having been here before themselves. Yes New York City is expensive but we had a lovely meal out here, only had a main, great service and glad it was chosen for us. One thing I like is to have lovely surroundings, great food and lovely staff . Here we got all 3. Went on a budget so couldn't really afford starters and puddings but what we had was very well made and served.
Good food & service… you may need to fight the unfriendly Maitre’d for a decent table!
Unfortunately this is one of those restaurants that offers you the worst table available… even in January, when the restaurant is less than one third full and the Broadway shows are already underway! Why? I fully understand that at busy times it is necessary to allocate tables but not in this case. Having pushed back and reluctantly been given a nice table, we had a very nice dinner. The service and food were very good, and this could easily become our regular NYC Italian restaurant, but we will pass. The restaurant was even less busy when we left.
Def recommend
What a great spot to try! I'm glad we decided to come. Cute inside we just sat at the bar. To start the martinis are delicious. I had the side of bolognese and it was a perfect amount for me. My fiancé got the vegetable linguine to me it didn't have much flavor but he enjoyed it. The bartender was nice and good service.
A special Italian restaurant
We had dinner in this restaurant trying the Mozzarella in carrozza, a platter of cold cuts and cheeses, raviolipanna and ham and a steak with chips. The Mozzarella in carrozza, perfectly cooked and not greasy, was served with a fantastic accompanying sauce. The steak had an incredible taste, with a crust on the outside and very soft on the inside, a meat of absolute quality. Tortellini that would be the envy of an Italian trattoria. Various quality cured meats and cheeses, served with excellent hot bread. Attentive service, place with perfect temperature and without loud music. Compliments!
Small Italian Restaurant near Broadway TKTS
Great food at nice location.. need reservations. Sat at bar since we did not have one. Rigatoni Al dente, lasagna perfect! You won’t be disappointed!

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
