The dishes that I had here were mixed, and the overall rating is closer to 3.5 stars; however, rounding up to 4 since it was a good dining experience overall, and there were some good dishes. They were busy at 6:30pm on a Thursday, and the restaurant/bar area was packed. Luckily, we got a table in the exterior section, which was a lot nicer since it wasn't as loud or dark as the interior section. We ordered a lot of dishes to share, and also had a lot of leftovers to take home for a party of 5:[yelp.com/user_local_phot…:-S.P.A.M. Musubi (Mochi Crusted Smoked Pork Arabiki Meatloaf, $15): Interesting, and I liked the slight chewiness of the mochi. Worth trying once but I'm not sure I would order this again.-Ahi Poke Nachos (Avocado Salsa, Bubu Arare, Wonton Chips, $19):The tuna was really fresh, and this dish was solid overall.-Salt & Pepper Big Fin Squid (Fermented Black Bean, Calamansi Aioli, $16): Nice and crispy, and very fresh. I liked the addition of shishitos.[yelp.com/user_local_phot…:-North Shore Style Kauai Shrimp (Garlic Butter Sauce, Edamame, Carrots, Rice, $31): Bland, and the shrimp were slightly overcooked- skip!-Kalbi Short Rib (Kimchee Potato Salad, Coconut Rice, Pickled Kohlrabi, $29): Yum- the flavor of the short ribs was good, and it had a good sear. However, the meat was on the chewier side.-Huli Huli Chicken (Rice Cakes, Chinese Broccoli, Chili Sauce, $32)[yelp.com/user_local_phot…:-Pepper Crusted Rib Eye (Cipolini Onions, Shiitake Mushrooms, Salt Roasted Marble Potatoes, $48): Cooked a very good medium rare, but was on the leaner side for a rib eye. Still a solid steak.-Miso Honey Glazed Butterfish (Assorted Banchan, Bok Chou Namul, $37): Yum- cooked perfectly. The fish was tender, flaky, and very flavorful- recommended!-Kimchee Fried Rice (Kimchee, Pork Belly, Ko Chu Jang, $10): Yum- really good! The rice was stir fried really well, and it was very flavorful. Recommended!-Porchetta Lau Lau (Kalua Pig, Lomi Tomato, $35): Not very good. The pork didn't have much flavor, and was on the dry side- skip![yelp.com/user_local_phot…:-Tropical Creamsicle Brûlée (Haupia Tapioca, Dragon Fruit, Pineapple, Lilikoi Sorbet, $10): Yum- beautiful and delicious dessert. The fruits worked really well together, and this was very refreshing- recommended!-Coconut Cake (Coconut Chiffon, Haupia Pudding, Compressed Pineapple Kaffir Coconut Snow, Haupia Sorbet, $9): Great mix of tropical flavors, and the cake was nice and light- recommended for coconut lovers! Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, but some of the dishes took a while to come out. Our overall dining experience took over 2 hours, since it took a long time for dessert to arrive. I would likely come back if in the mood for Hawaiian fusion cuisine, and would want to check out their Happy Hour. Parking in this area is extremely difficult since street parking spots are rare. There are lots available, but the hourly rate isn't cheap.
