The Whitby Hotel New York Reviews from The Last Year
Fabulous Hotel
Stunning hotel, beautiful decor, superb location, staff were all fabulous. The most incredible bed, room was truly a joy to be in. We absolutely loved the Honesty Bar, a beautiful room that felt like a home from home, great place for drinks after a night on the town.

Stylish & Charming, One Of Soho's Best.
The gorgeous Whitby Hotel enjoys a prime address in the heart of NYC & and is a stones throw from the MOMA and just 2 blocks from Central park. This hotel is stacked with amenities like a Fitness Center, a Drawing Room lined with books ( that I loved), a 300 seat Whitby theater, 2 destination eateries: The Whitby Bar & Restaurant and the Orangery: and foremost, superior designed accommodations. My Junior Terrace Suite was so accommodating with high ceilings, and done up in dozens of vivid colors patterns, oversized steel industrial windows, artwork that was both quirky and elegant, bright patterned headboards and furniture that is a melange of modern and vintage. The pinnacle amenity; however, was the corner terrace overlooking Manhattan rooftops. The bath was fabulous with double sink, large marbleized shower and stand alone tub. The Whitby Bar & Restaurant is the culinary sweet spot of the Whitby as it sports it's American dishes through all dayparts and afternoon tea. The dinner menu showcases food fare such as grilled fish, steak as well as the likes of ossobuco agnolotti. I enjoyed the Squash Soup and Dover Soles. The Bar serves an exciting spritzes menu in addition to a complete list of inventive cocktails. The Orangery restaurant, a beauty, is decorated with ceramics etched with NYC landmarks. It serves snacks and small dishes and afternoon tea. So, if you want to be surrounded by a great, colorfully designed hotel............then try the.................Whitby Hotel...............stylish & charming, one of Soho's best.
Fabulous stay!
Checked in late December after a particularly unpleasant stay at another mid town hotel. Thank goodness! Walking into the Whitby is like walking into another world off the grey streets of Manhattan. Kit Kemps design takes you into a fun, colourful oasis with ultra comfortable, quiet and spacious rooms and some impeccable staff members to match. Great location , a bit too close to phenomenal shopping and to Central Park. One of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve experienced although some wait staff could do with being a little more cheery. The bar always lively and atmospheric, love the live music! The bar tenders went above and beyond. The new year’s celebrations were wonderful! Always welcomed so warmly into the hotel by Paul and Jerry. I will absolutely make this my ‘go to’ when in NYC. Well done Kathrin & team !
Excellent place for afternoon Tea
Had afternoon tea at the Whitby Hotel. It was extra special because of the holidays and their tea room was all decked out for the holidays. Tea was a set price of $ 75 with various tea options. It was nice and satisfying. Bathrooms were private and very clean. Would go again. (Made a reservation)
Great hotel in NYC
Excellent hotel just off 5th avenue. Rooms are a good size and beautifully furnished - very comfortable bed. Bar and restaurant is bustling and lively - they always found a space for residents though. Well equipped gym in the basement. No coffee machine in the room which seemed unusual in such a well appointed and thoughtfully furnished hotel.
Returned to NYC after 4 years and delighted to be back.
I stayed in a junior suite. It was a wonderful room. The most efficient and comfortable room for its size I have ever experienced. And I am an experienced traveler. The staff to a person was excellent. Just a few: Arles, Bianca, Marina, Kelvin, Ivan, Tony and all others. The dining room is charming and food well prepared and presented. The woman who has designed this hotel is brilliant. I am in awe of her ability. I shall return.
My fiancé and I stayed for the night after a mix up with
My fiancé and I stayed for the night after a mix up with our intended hotel. The woman doing reservations, I think her name was Darilyn, made sure we were well accommodated. The service was impeccable. Great job Whitby! This will now be our go-to when we visit the big Apple.
With a visit for lunch at least and is perfect for a “ rest” location while shopping.
Refreshing hotel and Bar with good food we’ll served.the decor and ambiance are really very exciting. The hotel prices seem more expensive but the creativity is really good and original of design.this hotel for lunch at least in this location is worth a visit.
Stellar Stay
We stayed for just one night, last minute change of plans, and had to find lodging before checking into another hotel down the street. Had a really amazing stay. The room was lovely. They had a lot of thoughtful details such as a small toiletry bag for our 1 year old, diaper bags, crib ready in our room upon check-in. The breakfast included in our room was excellent. The location is central and just several blocks away from Central Park. The service all around was welcoming and congenial. Lastly, the decor and design of the rooms and the hotel itself is stellar. No paint scuffs, no tired linens, or missing grout, etc. It's as if the hotel was close to new. I would highly recommend to anyone whether you're traveling for business or pleasure, solo or with your family.
