Comfy English pub.
Service was good. Food came out quickly and overall vibe checked all the English pub boxes. I ordered Vietnamese wings with sauce on the side and olives. To drink was a Merlot. The wings were a curve ball menu item so tried it and really liked it. The sauce was something special. Prefer my wings to not be breaded but beggars can't be chooser's. Overall would go in again. They always have some special. Today's was 3 beers for the price of 2. Welcome to jolly old England.

A nice find by yelp search near Paddington - it's a bit out of the main roads and mostly locals are here - so I know I came to the right place. Nice little pub, old fashioned decors. We ordered off the specials. Vietnamese wings - the wings are smaller than the US - probably less hormones. a bit spicy but very flavorful. Chicken burger - tender, juicy and flavorful- my hubby gives big thumbs up. Haddock - perfectly fried and tasty. Not too hot about the minted peas (tastes like Chinese medicine - for real). Should've read the menu more carefully. Highly recommended- except for the peas. Ps - the ladies room stall was super small - feel like my face could be on the door, is this part of the pub culture?

Went to restaurant for Sunday roast, very nice ambiance but roast was just ok. Desserts were excellent. Service ok
Be the first to ReplyMy first time to enjoy classic fish and chips.
With English Peas. really cool spot. Guiness on tap. Add a little bartender attitude. This American was happy
Be the first to ReplyGreat dinner with the family.
Had a great Shepard pie. There were lots of people doing Xmas/holiday dinner. Such a fun concept. Good service and food.

OMG the Sunday roast was exactly what I wanted! Totally hit the spot. We got the beef Sunday roast that came with cheesy cauliflower, roast potatoes, gravy, veggies, and Yorkshire pudding. It also had horseradish but it hurt my sinuses so I didn't eat much of it. We accompanied the meal with a pint of cider that was delicious! The only downside to the pub is that it requires a reservation if you want to sit inside. So we sat outside, which was fine, except for everyone smoking. I really enjoyed my meal here!
Be the first to ReplyServing figures from Winston Churchill to Charles Dickens
Serving figures from Winston Churchill to Charles Dickens over the 150 years that this place has been in business, it is pretty unlikely that even the most detailed Yelp reviewers would be able to point out something that has not already been said before. Real Ales, Roasts and Fish and Chips are things that this authentic pub is known for and it unquestionably does them very, very well. The upstairs is quite a gem and does require reservations, sitting in the theater or library room is a journey through the history of Paddington. The pub has many tourists due to the proximity to Heathrow Express, but also locals coming in for a Sunday roast. The girl working here was extremely kind and attentive. Haddock was lightly breaded and perfectly fried, with their fries being extremely delicate and flavorful. Another surprising side for an American are the English peas, which were simply spectacular. Having visited a number of pubs in London, this one is undoubtedly unique and has a character, thus an absolute must to visit.

The wall decour is great and the service is very fast to order. My brothers had some questions about the beers since this was our first pub in London and they were glad to answer them. The food came out fast after we order and it looks as delicious as it looks. The pork I got was soft with a nice crunchy skin. The sauce and everything that came under the pork was what I enjoyed the most, the flavor was so good with every bite. My friend got the lamb shank and he was amazed how tender the meet was. This pub is definitely a good choice to stop and grab a beer and some food.
Be the first to ReplyWe didn't eat there because it was always crowded.
But we went to a Chinese restaurant next door and the food there was excellent.
Be the first to ReplyEverything was fantastic! Beautiful interior.
We had the lamb, shepherd's pie and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Fuller beers were excellent also! The food was amazing and reasonably priced. We made reservations for 5:3O and had the upstairs dining area to ourselves. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyWhata pub! Enjoyed pints & the lamb shoulder.
Good service and aptly named establishment. Crowded but that's part of its charm.
Be the first to ReplyStaff that I've encountered have been pleasant enough.
I'm glad they set up online appointment booking, since there have been times where I'm waiting up to 10 minutes on hold to make an appointment by phone. At least this new location is in a better area than before!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent lamb roast.
We made a reservation and sat upstairs in the library area which was nice and quiet. Staff was very nice and attentive. Lamb roast has great flavor and very tender. The veggies, especially the cauliflower was delicious and cheesy. Yorkshire pudding which had the texture of a popover was the perfect for dipping into the gravy.

Visited The Victoria right before New Year's Day during a trip to London from New York. Despite being very busy, the staff was friendly. I had the fish and chips which was excellent. My girlfriend wanted a pie from the specials but they were out. She opted for the burger, which was just OK. Beer selection was also quite good. Overall a great place, but my advice is to stick with the English specialties; it seems that this is what they do best.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is terrific, no wonder the pub has won awards.
My group of four cleaned our plates and debated whether the Steak and Ale pie was better than the Shepards Pie. We also had a friendly server who made sure our glasses were full. I suggest making a reservation if you are looking for dinner as it gets crowded after 6pm. I would recommend to a friend and will be back when in then area, and would even go out of my way to dine here. One item to consider is the cramped staircase up to the dining room on the first floor and down to the men's toilets in the basement, which are not for the infirmed or claustrophobic.
Be the first to ReplyThe Victoria didn't disappoint.
Very cozy interior, very efficient and kind staff and awesome food. Had some excellent lamb.

Outstanding! We arrived around 1pm to a friendly staff and several open tables next to the fireplace. The food was fab. Fish and chips was the best we've ever had and the Sheppard's pie was perfect. By 3pm the place was filling up including a few friendly pups. We ended our cozy visit with the apple crumble (meh) but the mini toffee sticky pudding was delish! We thoroughly enjoyed our time and will visit again on our next visit to London. Well done all
Be the first to ReplyThis neighborhood pub has an amazing kitchen.
They have an ever-changing menu along with the pub standards. I enjoyed a wonderful Shepard's pie for lunch. With both indoor and outdoor seating you can find a place to relax. The street is fairly quiet, so if you are sitting outdoors you won't feel threatened by traffic noise or heavy pedestrian traffic. The pub is very popular at night, so expect a crowd. You are only a few steps away from Hyde Park and many of the hotels located in Paddington. Everyone I spoke to highly recommended the Victoria's food and many said it is better than some of the restaurants in the area. I thought the foods taste, price and presentation was wonderful. Cheers!
Be the first to ReplyWe had reserved a table for dinner as our first dinner in
We had reserved a table for dinner as our first dinner in London. It was also convenient because it was only a couple of blocks away from where we were staying in Paddington. As we were approaching it, we figure that our reserved table was going to be a 6 person table in the corner of the pub with bar stools. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that there are, in fact, dining tables on the upper floor amongst two highly-themed rooms: one "the theatre"; the other, "the library". We were in The Theatre. It was such a fabulous dinner. At first, they had us in the back corner table which was already fine. But since they had a reservation cancelation, they moved us to the center table right in front of the balcony window. Not only did we have a nice view of Paddington but we also had the grandest table of the establishment. My sister got the pasta, I got the lamb, my cousin got the fish and chips. Everything we had was delicious - food and drink. Admittedly, we didn't get to spend much time in the pub area which is all on the ground floor but it looked like a fun, civilized, albeit crowded time! I highly recommend this place for tourists and locals! I used to live in London and for my family, it was their first time in London. But we all agreed that we all had a great time and thought the food was delicious. Props to the servers upstairs in the dining room. They made all the difference in the world for our positive experience.

This pub caught my eye when I was researching before our trip and we were not disappointed! Carina was our delightful server. We started with the Mortimer's hard cider on tap, a Fever-tree ginger beer and the board of British cheeses for two. The flavors on the board were excellent, and combining the quince jelly with some of the Blue Monday was an unexpected pleasure. The salad of fresh tomatoes with pickled shallots and pea shoots was a summer indulgence. Hubby enjoyed his shepherds pie, but doesn't like green peas which were part of the included side dish. The crispy crispy King prawns and squid were perfect with the tomato salad. We really enjoyed our dinner here!
Be the first to ReplyI can't say enough about this place and the staff.
I spent a week in England and was consistently shocked by how bad the service was everywhere we went except for the Victoria! They were so nice and so attentive and just lovely all around. The food was very good and I treated myself to desert as well. I had the haddock and it was very good. Mint peas are new to me and I finished everything on my plate. The bar is beautiful, a very nice setting overall.
Be the first to ReplyLovely pub.
Staff was accomodating with children. Food was delicious. Ambience so fun.
Be the first to ReplyOn a recent visit to London, tired from the ferry from St.
Malo and train to London, it was blocks away from where we were staying. Slipped in and got a table right away. Meat pie was THE BEST!!! My wife had fish and chips - also excellent! Family run and staffed with kind and attentive servers. Drinks were generous and the food was too. Price was right. Had such a great time, we returned the next day after a warm afternoon in the park nearby. Again, pleased with the food and fun the staff, remembering us, provided. Thank you!

Sorry for the late review, we were there in March of 2020, but I must give credit where credit is due. We came by for our first dinner in London on a rainy night, just as covid fear was taking hold. The atmosphere immediately lifed our spirits, but we didn't see a table or bar space available. As we were about to walk out, an attentive staff member spotted us and found us a delightful table upstairs. The food was delicious and satisfying. The service was friendly and attentive. I'd be there once a week, if there wasn't an ocean between us!
