Thank you for treating my prom kiddo's like respectable
Thank you for treating my prom kiddo's like respectable young people. I know teens can be frustrating but they have to make that leap into the adult world at some point. The BAR helped them with all of this! They had a guest that was very late yet the staff treated them like any adult at their establishment. They made conversation, laughed and waited patiently for the late guest's arrival. They even gave them roses for their big night! Very appreciative for the BAR's willingness to help these young ones learn by example that kindness is still out there at places like the BAR. VERY RARE today! Will definitely, not only return, highly recommend to all friends and family! Food was amazing as well! My daughter can't stop talking how delicious it was! Filet and salad were AMAZING she said. Thanks again!!

I read previous reviews that the menu was over priced, but we wanted to check it out. Definitely overpriced imo. My steak was extremely rare despite asking for medium. When I alerted the owner, who was also waiting on the guests, he chose to school me on how steaks are intended to be eaten rare. Sir, I'm a native Texan, please cook my steak as I requested or don't ask when you take my order. Nice ambiance, only 7 tables. Steakhouses in the N Dallas area are abundant, not sure this was the one for me.
Be the first to ReplyHands down best steak in the DFW area.
Have had amazing experiences every time we have been here. Both the owner and the chef are extremely personable and knowledgeable. Love the intimacy and vibes of the restaurant. Also a bonus- best bread pudding ever!

I have been to lunch there and it one of the most amazing place. The restaurant has everything there and takes care of you great. The food and wine are amazing. The best steak place I've ever been too. It's more than a steak place. The inside is so amazing warm and loving.

If Yelp had 100 stars, I'd be rating the Bar-Ranch a 100!!! From the welcoming hospitality from the front door to the whole culinary crew, the quaint yet familiar feeling of community, to hands down some of the best food our party of 4 have ever had....i simply cannot recommend this place enough! We sampled the Saturday Brunch menu: ordering the Chicken-fried Filet with perfectly cooked sunny-side-up eggs & crispy potatoes -- OMG...chef's-kiss , Steak Benedict with a Champagne Hollandaise on a fresh, homemade croissant (delicious and lighter than expected, a Wedge Salad with filet - not only gorgeous aesthetically but incredibly delicious complex flavors, and finally ... the house burger which was the table's vote for the best burger we have EVER tasted! We also enjoyed bottomless mimosas with hand-crafted fresh fruit juices (orange and basil & blueberry and lemon)...several times ! Executive Chef Kelsey and Chef Spencer both came out to greet us and ensure we enjoyed our experience (ummm, yes...we oh so did), and our sweet guide for this experience, Jamie, made sure we felt right at home I rarely write reviews, and I am sure this sounds like I must be friends with the owner or something...but HAND-TO-GOD...this was our first visit at a randomly selected restaurant to try. Chef Kelsey has been the Exec for a couple of months, and I will bet good money this brilliant woman will earn a Michelin star one day.... The best dining experience ever- thank you, Bar -Ranch for making our special occasion better than we could have imagined!!!!

Not impressed with the lunch.
Be the first to ReplySmall menu with great steak options.
The food is very fresh and all had great flavors. Meat was cooked to perfection. We went during lunch so I got a burger and my husband got the ribeye.
Be the first to ReplyWe came for the Saturday brunch.
The service is efficient and friendly. Not to fussy yet there when you need them. There are only a few tables and with their crisp white table cloths they look elegant. We had several different things but my Prime Rib sandwich stole the show. It is all fabulous but I recommend the Prime Rib sandwich for brunch. It is fun to see into the open kitchen as you wait and eat. I always enjoy being able to see how good is prepared. In the tradition of great steak places there are fine pieces of meat aging in the window and the wine selection looks nice. Great restaurant.

Chef Spencer not only served up a delicious meal, he entertained us as well as being extremely educated on the different cuts of meat. We're sold, and will definitely be coming back.
Be the first to ReplyBAR ranch was a great experience.
It's definitely not a quick bit, and I have to wonder if negative reviews are because people go in with the wrong expectations. This is fine dining all the way. You expect a good steak at a steak restaurant, and in this count, my parties were great. But what impressed me was how top down nothing got ignored. Often, sides or drinks get ignored. The wine selection was great, and I enjoyed every side. They could be meals in themselves. Heck, the roasted tomatoes and red peppers served on the steak platter were amazing, and I am not a tomatoes fan normally. Also, I can't say enough about the owner. He was a super nice guy who shared some additional wine with us and brought out a few extras like their famous pastrami. This is a must try when you are looking to celebrate something or want that extra level in a more intimate and cozy environment.

.. the burgers are the beefiest most delicious burgers I've had in quite a while. The dry aged Wagyu steak is amazing, almost has a bacon like taste due to the dry aging and is super tender and unctuous. Service was fantastic and very attentive and Spencer the chef did an incredible job on the food. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're anywhere close!
Be the first to ReplyI am a beef connoisseur.
I think I've been to all of the major steakhouses in Dallas and have had A5 Wagyu at all of the restaurants that I could find serving it. I was on a long journey looking for a steakhouse that could break the spell that Hillstone's (f/k/a Houston's) Hawaiian Ribeye has had on me for the past 10+ years. Although I enjoy A5 Wagyu steaks, I don't love them like a prime ribeye (probably because I usually have difficulty catching my breath after eating it). I digress. My experience here: I was BLOWN AWAY. Like sail me to the Maldives BLOWN AWAY. The steak, the sides... everything. Just everything made me very happy. It's a small restaurant so it's an intimate setting. I ordered an appetizer and requested that the sauce be omitted because it contained pork. The waiter noted my preference and left. He then returned to my table and notified me that the chef considered my dietary restriction and decided to make the sauce without bacon. Mind blown. A chef modifying his sauce just to accommodate my dietary restriction? I dined at Uchi a couple of weeks ago and had really good A5 Wagyu and other beef dishes. Upon looking at their menu, Uchi cited that they partner or source (can't remember the exact term) from Bar Ranch Steak Company. I nearly dropped my chopsticks when I read that. I knew this place was the best steakhouse when I dined there, and my opinion was further buttressed after dining at Uchi. If you like steak, you MUST come here. Reservations are required, and at the time I booked my reservation (back in June 2023) a deposit was required as well.
Be the first to ReplyThe best steak restaurant in Plano, easily.
Especially if you enjoy dry-aged steak. The dining area is small and intimate, perfect for a romantic dinner. Their service is impeccable as well. The head chef will usually introduce himself and answer questions about the menu. He is clearly very passionate, which makes the experience even better. Steakhouse dinner aside, this is the best lunch spot in dfw. If you love burgers, their dry aged burger is an experience you can't afford to miss. Try the waygu meatballs as well.

If you're looking for an authentic steakhouse where all the employees actually care and put effort into the food and presentation, this is it. The inside is small, so definitely not for a large group. My husband and I stopped by for lunch and split a caesar salad, a flight of meatballs with 3 different sauces, and the new york strip with a side of fries. The flavors of the meatballs were excellent, the steak was cooked perfectly, and the fries were exactly what I had been craving - perfectly thin, crispy, and seasoned to perfection. The chef puts a lot of love into all the dishes. We will definitely be back.

Overall disappointed and I'm not very hard to please lol, we were informed that the waiter for the night wasn't able to make it, I believe it was the owner who subbed in to serve us and fell very short. A few major complaints : We noted it was a birthday which wasn't recognized at all, had to ask for a candle after the cake was served. We byob'd and the wine was never poured for us, we waited and waited and finally served ourselves.Waters weren't refilled when we finally asked they brought over a pitcher but didn't fill our glasses. We asked to get our food bagged up but the containers were never brought to us, only the check. After we paid we waited another 20 minutes for our to go bag and nothing at all.. finally had to ask and overall just felt ignored despite there only being 2 other tables. To top it all off every dish was over seasoned, our steak and Brussels sprouts were overly salty and carrot cake (their recommendation) too sweetThere wasn't a highlight of our night but the interior was beautiful and although a small restaurant, the tables are properly spaced out. For being a steakhouse on the higher priced range, I had expected more, not even the basic was met in terms of service.

With only 7 tables, this place is focused on experience, quality, steak, service, and ambiance. The dinning room is shared with a glass view of their aging room. The kitchen is open to the room as well and you can see the love and dedication the chef puts into every meal. They use an Argentine grill with real wood fire to cook the food- there's nothing better than that. Every dish was great, we had 200 day dry aged meatballs, each coated in a unique sauce. Steak was cooked perfectly. Fries were the best I had in Texas. And the cakes are purposely displayed ... and totally worth it

I was there for lunch and oh boy, it was a really good lunch. The wagyu chili was extremely tasty and the corn bread on top really complimented the chili in a very nice way. The ribeye was very juicy, soft and flavorful. Frankly, I enjoyed this ribeye much more than the ribeye from the legendary leona general store and the ribeye from texas roadhouse is no where close.

Rave reviews for everything! Amazing hospitality from start to finish! Honestly could not ask for better; friendly, knowledgeable, generous and great attention to detail! The food is outstanding!!! Timing for it all, texture, quality and quantity! Our party of four had the chance to experience a meal that we won't forget! The atmosphere is good; it is a small restaurant so it is easy to feel comfortable and at home while being spoiled with great service & food. Plus the wine was excellent and the desserts melt in your mouth good!
Be the first to ReplyPerfect Valentine's Day experience.
Owner and chef and super friendly and knowledgeable. Steak was cooked perfectly. Sides were amazing. Everything looked and tasted amazing. The complimentary roses and photographer was such a pleasant surprise. The restaurant itself was super small and personal I loved it. Wine rack and meat room are beautiful. Cannot wait to get my photos and come back.

The service was amazing. The Australian Waygu was fantastic. The staff including the Executive Chef and Owner seem to really enjoy what they do and it makes the experience all the better. Thank you for a great time!

Took off 1 star because of the quality was okay but the price is sky high even we expected it. The service was good especially the chef talked to everyone about the taste of food. It was a good experience, we ordered 2 items from the dinner menu and one bottle of wine for 3 people and the bill was $970 before tips.
Be the first to ReplyBest steak I ever had.
Simple ingredients prepared masterfully. I found that special place that only gets filled in a foreign country, off the beaten path. Looking to impress that client that family member, the one looking for a down right perfect pairing of sides appetizers and best steak in town. You found it.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing.
There is nothing else to say. Service. Food. Delectable, melt in your mouth steak. Divine, selective wine. Owner is the real holyfield; country with the city realness. There is no comparison.
Be the first to ReplyOverall food, service, and ambiance were amazing.
We enjoyed speaking to the owner and taking his recommendations. Excited to come back and try their more informal/less pricey lunch menu. We enjoy supporting small, local businesses. You can definitely feel the love & care that goes into both the dishes and client experience.
