The Standard, High Line New York Reviews from The Last Year
Great bar and mixologist!
Great hotel, amazing rooftop bar with great views. OLEK was a fantastic mixologist and made us great drinks at the rooftop bar at Le Bain. We had an awesome time. Definitely recommend to locals and anyone visiting NYC to make it a part of your itinerary.
Very happy long lunch
Fabulous lunch on the terrace. Food sensational ( Lobster rolls and Standard burger, whispering angel and the best coffee) but best of all was the service from Stroyan and Ron. How do The Standard find so many amazing staff? Fabulous. Thank you all
Marijuana odor issues
Our room on the 15th floor smelled of marijuana coming through the HVAC system. After three nights of that, we requested a different room. The hallway of the new room on 13 smelled strongly of marijuana, as the attendant moving us acknowledged.
Some of the worst communication ever
Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience with this hotel. I sent my 3 clients to this hotel after reading the great reviews, but I regret that decision. To start off with, the communication was horrible. I tried to call them several times for a few small updates on the reservations but no one picked up. Their email is nowhere to be found so I was bound to use the contact form on their website. When I tried to call them again the next day, it was already to late for them to help me. They are not flexible AT ALL, no empathy whatsoever, even when I asked if they could make an exception for one person. When I told them I had contacted them via the contact form, they told me they 'did not receive it'. So the fact that they weren't reachable yesterday and for that reason, I cannot get any updates to my reservation, they don't take any responsibility for that. I would NOT recommend this hotel and will never send any clients of mine to this one again.
Worst hotel in Manhattan - only thing worse than the room was the service
The Standard Hotel is the worst hotel we’ve visited in the last ten years. We stay all over Manhattan in our visits to New York and were excited to try the Standard because of its location and views. Check in took forever but we were ready to look past that for the rest of the experience. Little did we know that was the high point. The rooms are tired. We went to the standard grill for a quick dinner on our first night and it was anything but. It took hours, the food was bland and not what was on the menu (a mushroom risotto was pea and mint, for instance), and the server, while very nice, was way over her head. The rest of the visit followed suit. The front desk staff was surly and unhelpful. And when we came back from a busy day for a drink at the roof bar, everything went entirely off the rails. Despite spending thousands at the hotel (and listening to the thumping of the bar that interfered with sleep until 4 am), we were sent outside to get in line. We went, thinking we would have a chance to get upstairs. Then we met the Standard’s staff. They were dismissive, pretentious, and rude. We asked if we could get in line for the roof and were told we were not the vibe he was looking for. This is not the experience we’ve had anywhere else in the world or certainly in New York. We will never stay at the Standard again and advise everyone else to do the same. The Gaansevort is right down the street and much nicer and the Roxy isn’t far away and has always been terrific. We aren’t sure why we tried the Standard instead. Don’t make our mistake - literally anywhere else is better. If we could give zero stars, we would.
bad experience
music loud at the 15 floor till 3 am! no excuses or advice by the staff. Noah (reception staff) was a mean in telling he gave us the best room! we couldnt sleep till 3 am...! breakfast boring, room dirty, room to small for that price. i will never go there in the future. much more nice and new hotel in ny
Pets friendly
Amazing place🤩 we really appreciate pets friendly function🙏🙏 we found this place by OLEK advice and he was absolutely right that we will spend a really good time here👏👏 foe us is very important that we can take our cat for a trip🔥🔥 nice food and views as well!
Truly memorable anniversary stay
We spent an anniversary night at The Standard, and received impeccable service from Shay in Guest Services ahead of time, and the whole staff during our stay. They helped make arrangements to make it a truly memorable stay. Cool vibe, great cocktails, great entertainment at Le Bain. We will be back.
Great good, great service, great restaurant
The food, the service, the restaurant were beyond amazing. I went with a group of friends and we started with the seafood tower that was so fresh and so good. All of the entrees we got were equally as good and the dessert…next level. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!
THIS PLACE has gone DOWNHILL.
NO LONGER GOOD Don't Bother booking The rooms are falling apart, the facilities managers even complained about the heaters breaking. staff told me at the desk more then just me complained that it happened to MULTIPLE people, and then to top it all off Kora, the senior manager yelled at me at the front desk in front of staff and other guests, this place is OUTRAGEOUS also NOT friendly to LGBTQ+ people, Kora is Rude, talks over guests, interrupts and thinks she is above it to even bring a cart to a room to help move a person. thats bad management.
I'm pretty sure some jewelry of mine was stolen out of my
I'm pretty sure some jewelry of mine was stolen out of my room during housekeeping. The shower is awkward and floods the entire bathroom. I went downstairs to get breakfast and the waitress forgot about me. The phone in my room stopped working. The light in the toilet room stopped working. The political t-shirts in the shop showed that they cared more about pushing an agenda than customer service. Will not stay here again and won't recommend it to anyone.
Enjoyed staying here Christmas Eve.
Room was upgraded I guess because they weren't very busy. Comfy bed with a great view of the Hudson looking north towards midtown. Room was a tad rundown and the shower was downright silly. Called a peekaboo it was a small room containing a shower, vanity and towels with no shower door. The drain was on the floor next to the cabinet so the room flooded whenever I'd shower. The stay included breakfast at the Standard Grill, always a fan favorite. Service was excellent with a friendly, accommodating staff who seemed genuinely happy to be working. Lobby is cool as was the outdoor area. I consider the hotel to be well priced and the location really can't be beat. A short walk to The Roastery, Chelsea Market and the Highline makes this a top choice when making the grueling 20 minute drive to stay in Manhattan. Kudos
Always enjoy my time staying at The Standard.
Rooms are very comfortable and trendy, love the wood decor. Location is convenient to coffee shops and other restaurants.
Wife and I truly enjoyed our stay here.
Lots of character and ambience at this hotel, solid river and city views, and provocative and memorable interior design. It may not be your cup of tea, but we really liked it. Our staff interactions were all positive and the room was clean. We were treated to a complimentary upgrade upon arrival which was fun. Some less positive notes: * the bar outside, brass monkey, is noisy into the early morning hours even on high floors * blackout curtains do not actually black out the room; lots of light gets through * they do provide one set of complementary earplugs and eye mask * the bathroom vent provided very little airflow * it was unclear which items were welcome gifts and which were mini-bar (referring specifically to the snack packs and water on top of the counter). They should be clearly, if subtly, marked * the lights over the headboard were burned out and only the main light was functioning, requiring us to use phone flashlights after lights out * the room temp was preset to 60* and the room was very cold upon checkin. It took hours to heat up. If these last 3 items were remedied this would easily be a 4-5 star stay. Attention to detail is crucial at this price point. Still enjoyed the stay!
The amount of unprofessionalism with this hotels management
The amount of unprofessionalism with this hotels management is honestly hilarious. I should've listened to the countless reviews that said the same thing. We called the front desk the night before checkout and asked for late checkout. They told us it would be an additional $50/ hour and we were fine with that. $150 to stay until 3pm since our flight wasn't until 6:30pm. It was a done deal. They woke us up by calling us the morning of checkout asking why we hadn't left the room yet and saying it would be $450 unless we left by 2. The "manager" we spoke to literally hung up the phone on us when we requested a bellhop. She also refused to even give us her name or compensate in anyway for inconveniencing us and being extremely rude. She gave off a very 'I don't care about you or your problems' vibe. They should consider some mandatory customer service classes to their staff. Aside from that, I'm really not sure what's so great about this hotel. It's not funky or cool or trendy like their marketing team pushes. Their elevator is like a bad acid trip. The food is mid. The amenities are nonexistent. The only thing they have going for them are comfy beds. House keeping woke us up every single morning even with do not disturb hanging on the door. The rooms have the dumbest layout imaginable so get ready to stub your toe daily. And I'm sorry, but if you're going to make bathtubs your entire personality, offer some damn bubbles or salts or literally anything. Also, be prepared to use every single towel to mop up the bathroom after you shower or bathe unless you enjoy wet socks. Just do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. I know I will next time I'm in NYC

CHECK YOUR BILL!!!!! We were asked if we wanted our room at Noon, not expecting to get in so early. We accepted and when we checked out, found out they charged $75.00 for early check-in, which we did NOT need OR ask for. The Hotel staff is VERY RUDE and GOOD LUCK finding someone at the front desk. The room felt DIRTY and the whole experience was upstaged by the RIDICULOUS FEES.
I'm currently staying at The Standard High Line on the 15th
I'm currently staying at The Standard High Line on the 15th floor. It's almost 1 am, and I cannot sleep because of the noise. The front desk said the "club is on the 18th floor." If my daughter weren't so exhausted from today's activities she'd probably be awake, too. I'm a Travel Agent and reserved this hotel under their "Secret Agent" program that's supposed to come with a complimentary "upgrade based on availability." When I asked for that upgrade if possible, I was told I'd be charged. I didn't think that was right, but I agreed as my daughter and I wanted a slightly bigger room than the queen deluxe we had. I thought that'd be the only issue. But this noise!!! I called the front desk, and they offered moving us to the 4th floor, but when I look out the window, there's a bunch of people in line to what looks like another club on the ground level next to the hotel! I can hear noise from there, too. Also, I didn't have the heart to wake up my daughter when she finally fell asleep from exhaustion despite the noise. Needless to say, I won't be recommending this hotel to clients.
There was a really interesting vibe to this hotel!
There was a really interesting vibe to this hotel! Apparently there is some interesting news about this hotel if you Google it! I liked the hotel, I was able to check in early and it is in a great location - very close to the pier in meatpacking! There are also a ton of bars and restaurants nearby that make it ideal. We had breakfast here and the American breakfast was delicious! The room however did have a few kinks- the tables were slanted so things slipped consistently and the shower had a weird faucet!

The site doesn't have resources to properly execute a reservation transfer. Some places allow it however the best bet is to open a chat on the listing from the seller and communicate there

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
