The Peninsula Beverly Hills Reviews from The Last Year
I liked it.
The servers could not be more friendly or helpful. Food was good. The only negative was the best of the music can get on your nerves and maybe deliberate to get people to move on. I don't know. But the place is very pretty
Talk about luxury.
.. This place is beautiful, the art is amazing on the walls, this place gives exclusivity and luxury an entirely different meaning. They have valet, they're located in the heart of Beverly Hills, they are an amazing business/restaurant/hotel. I love the food. The food is top-tier. The drinks are top-tier. The staff is top-tier...very professional, very polite, very kind. I've never felt so "pampered" at a restaurant before... But like I said they give exclusivity and luxury an entirely new definition. I look forward to returning here, thank you, Peninsula and staff for giving me such a great experience. Look forward to seeing you soon.
Another Flawless Stay in Every Way
SERVICE: Everyone from the valet parking, doormen, front desk staff, Living Room afternoon tea staff, Belvedere restaurant host and hostess and wait staff, and Housekeeping performed their jobs flawlessly, efficient, polite, welcoming, professional and well trained. They all contributed to my stay being such a pleasure. Various staff remembered my name, which is so nice, and amazing considering how many guest they have come stay every day of the year. General Manager Mr. Offer Nissenbaum, makes the hotel the superb luxurious establishment that it is. He keeps an eye on everything, if he catches anything not to his liking or high standards, he corrects it immediately. He keeps things running smoothly, and thanks to him and how he treats people, the people he hires frequently stay working at Peninsula for years. He is gracious kindness itself to his guests, and each time I have come to stay, he has taken the time out of a very busy day to say hello during check in, and even gave me a complimentary upgrade to a beautiful suite. Now THAT is how every Hotel Manager should treat their repeat guests if they can! SUITE: Beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean, very comfortable. Lots of windows to let in the light, sofa, tables, chairs, desk, cleverly concealed mini bar, television directly across from the bed so it is easy to watch and you don't get a neck ache from having to turn your head; in essence, everything you might want. The bedroom had an excellent mattress, great soundproofing, and well thought out crown molding valances for the black out curtains, so there is no light leakage. Closet and dresser space was good, and there were plenty of hangers. Bathroom - all of the usual good smelling amenities, strong water flow at the shower, big mirrors, excellent lighting, plenty of absorbent towels; and a heated seat, automatic lid lifting combined toilet/bidet that was wonderful in the luxury of it! They remembered the things I like to eat, and along with a fresh fruit bowl (loved the firm, fresh green grapes!) also provided a complimentary amenity of chips & salsa, which was so thoughtful. Housekeeping was right on time for the morning service and evening turndown. Very nice, impeccably clean and tidy, everything was well maintained. This takes effort and care and the ongoing investment of capital to keep rooms in such great condition. Again, this is what makes Peninsula Beverly hills such a great place to stay. They don't let their standards slip - not even in challenging economic times or when hiring and keeping capable, responsible, reliable staff seems so hard to do for most other hotels and restaurants. FOOD: Love the ironed white linen tablecloths, well spaced tables and upholstered banquette seating, and big wall of windows that lets in the light. Nicely sound proofed - it was never noisy, which makes it so welcoming and relaxing to dine there. Every single thing I had, from bagels & smoked salmon at breakfast, to the kitchen making the most delicious whipped cream ever for my specialty coffee ( 2/3 cup steamed milk, 1/3 cup coffee, and a huge side of whipped cream to keep spooning into the coffee with every sip); to dinner where the chicken was perfectly cooked, and the al dente pasta was delicious. My friends both loved their meals as well. Worth every penny, with attentive service. Afternoon tea with warm from the oven scones was also delicious and the china is so beautiful; and the harp music so soothing and charming. CONCLUSION: Best Hotel in Beverly Hills, hands down. Highly recommend, and will return. Looking forward to my next stay!
Not a good experience
Did not make me feel at home. Hard work at this hotel. Will not go again. Meats could be better there roof restaurant was poor service. There have no real lobby. On the other hand reception was good, there was no problem with the bill. But not a good experience, especially for the price
very satisfied !!!
I was at the Peninsula last February, it's a wonderful hotel, worthy of expectations. The staff were friendly and always available. Ther's nothing that i can remember that created a problem ,everything was perfect . I hope to come back soon!!! highly recommended
The staff made our experience incredible.
I would like to specifically recognize Carlos, our server. He shared stories with us, made sure my tea was never empty, and even offered to make us something special as vegetarian options! I would give their high tea a 6 out of 5 stars if I could! All of the vegetarian tea sandwiches were incredible. Carlos did a great job of even telling us which order to eat our food in for the best experience. All staff working today at the 11am seating were absolutely wonderful. If you like high tea and are celebrating something special, I recommend this space!
My favorite place is the bar area.
The Bar staff, especially Ben, is absolutely amazing. These people are so incredibly lovely, accommodating, and offer phenomenal customer service. My absolute favorite is Ben, cause on my hardest days he seems to know that I'm not well, so he makes it a point to make me laugh. And, I'm so grateful for the laughs he gives me, especially on tough days. So, if you're having a hard day, go visit Ben at the Peninsula bar, he will brighten your day and put a smile on your face. Oh! And order a French onion soup from the restaurant, it's SO good!! Tracy and Anni are also my favorites. Love the staff here and the French Onion Soup (the bar food menu sucks please address this).
My best girlfriend and I had the most uncomfortable and
My best girlfriend and I had the most uncomfortable and unsettling experience at the club bar last evening on Valentine's Day with our server Ben. We had heard great things about this hotel and came for drinks and appetizers. We ordered drinks, the truffle fries and pistachio crème brûlée. We asked Ben (our server) to bring the creme brûlée after we had our drinks and truffle fries for our dessert. We hadn't been checked on and wanted another drink, so I went to the bar and asked if I could order a second round for us. The bartender let me know that he'll grab the server -- after asking Ben, he said "Oh that guy isn't going to pay?" And cackled in the most unsettling tone. This was in regards to a gentlemen who was seated next to our table that we were having a good conversation with. Around 11:45PM, we were tired and asked for the check. Ben hadn't brought over our dessert, which we wasn't a concern or upsetting experience. However, Ben said "you don't want the creme brûlée? It's just sitting there in the back. We already made it." Our girlfriend and I politely declined as it was almost midnight and we simply wanted to go home. The third unsettling interaction occurred when Ben brought the check and then said "I need to walk over to make sure you girls pay." Which was in regards to the concierge across the bar. There were other guests speaking to the hotel staff and had not been escorted by their server. I am unsure if servers escorting guests with the check is protocol at the Peninsula. Ben was staring at my girlfriend writing the tip in the check -- we are unsure if he was looking to get information about our identity or card, or wanted to see how much we tipped him. We are very uncomfortable and traumatized by the experience at The Club Bar with Ben. As Beverly Hills locals, we have never been disappointed by any establishment in this amazing city until our Valentines Day experience with Ben at this beautiful hotel.
Tired and Dated
Having stayed a few times at The Peninsula in Hong Kong, I had high expectations of this property. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed. The property feels old, not in an elegant, classy way, but in a tired, dated way. I have seen Marriott Courtyard with nicer showers. In addition, the handle bar in my bathtub had dirty smudges: attached are pictures of its conditions before and after I wiped it with tissue. There was no in-room coffee machine, so you have to wait 35 minutes for your room-service delivery. There was also no visible option to pre-order breakfast for delivery at set time in the morning. The services were also disappointing. When we asked the concierge for a place for a quiet business dinner, he directed us to the loud and crowded lounge: we backed out immediately and found the rooftop lounge which he attempted to dissuade us from going. As my colleague said: “I just don’t see what we are paying for!”

Many good things to say, first the most comfortable bed and bedding in the world. Rooms cozy and beautiful. However I think its lousy to not have tea and coffee in room. To get a cup of tea, it has to be room service with a $7 service fee before tip. It ends up being over $20 for a cup of tea. Thats just greedy. I've stayed at the finest hotels and all offer coffee/tea/water in the rooms. Too greedy!
I came here for high tea last year with a friend.
Paid top dollar for the most expensive package they had and got...horrible food poisoning. My friend and I were both violently ill for a week. It was so bad that I had to take antibiotics and it took me nearly two weeks to fully recover. Every time I see someone post pics of high tea from here I shudder from residual trauma. I attempted to contact management via the app I made the reservation through describing the situation and they never got back to me. Truly beyond disappointing.
What a great experience!
This could be the perfect hotel. The rooms are spacious, the public spaces are spacious, the food is great, and the service is attentive. Not to mention a great location! There's no other place close to this in Los Angeles. Within minutes of arriving at the hotel, all staff know your name.
Outstanding service and lovely rooms.
Outstanding service and lovely rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff got to know us right away and catered to our every need. The rooms were large and comfortable, nice choice of down or down alternative pillows, fluffy bed. Room service was really tasty; so much so that it was tempting to order every day. The location is convenient to get around. Rooftop pool was heated and poolside service was very nice. We ended up accidently leaving dresses in the closet, and they shipped everything to us. Would love to return.
Not really a 5 star hotel
Unfortunately the hotel isn't really a five star. I booked a two night stay at the hotel for our family. Several issues were forthcoming - - the lobby area had a very tacky display of raffle Christmas items, it looked like something from a car boot sale and was really unpleasant. The large polar bear was nice but didn't fit with the other rubbish on display. - the front desk lady is rather hot and cold in that one day she will appear warm and friendly and another day indifferent/ unpleasant. - On arrival no water in the room, children left without water, had to take Evian from the drinks fridge at 8USD for a bottle, I have no issues paying for what is needed, but I think common courtesy would be to include some complimentary water bottles on arrival. - Two desserts were placed for the children, which is a nice thought but.. has anyone at the hotel tasted them? The worst tasting desserts I have ever come across, has the hotel no pastry chef at all? Would it be better not to bother? Especially when it's not really free if you then have to spend 8USD for a bottle of water after. Front desk staff informed that the hotel do not provide water on check in. We subsequently stayed at L'Ermitage, totally different (positive) experience, water in room on arrival along with a complimentary basket of fruits and everything was very modern and nice. - The monogrammed pillow case idea is a good one but frankly is this the best the hotel can come up with for a concept to appeal to its guests? - the whole hotel is a bit dated, the pool is in need of renovation, the hot tub was out or order and had been covered by a patch of artificial grass, I was informed cabanas and loungers were at a cost. The whole thing seemed a rather unfortunate joke, charging people for a 3 star hotel quality pool with no working hot tub. - The front of hotel is like a shopping centre, full of random people coming in to go to the bar or restaurant, hotel guests are made to feel secondary, it was like we were window dressing. - water temp in the shower was not satisfactory. Bathrooms esp showers need updating. - on the plus side the beds were comfortable and the room reasonably nice. Overall it was a disappointing experience at The Peninsula. It certainly isn't at a five star level, it has the feel of a hotel that has been left for years with no renovation or refurbishment. I booked the hotel in the hope of using their hot tub but wasn't informed that this was out of order. It was particularly upsetting to see this was the case. I would never have booked had I known that was the case. Should they not make it clear to guests that this is the case?
Earning Each Star
I have been coming to the Peninsula Beverly Hills for years now. They truly care about your comfort and needs. They offer an intimate, comfortable and home like feel no matter who you are. Luxury and high quality service abounds everywhere. Other luxury hotels I have visited sometimes feel cold and uninviting but the PBH goes beyond what is expected. Just one example, I walked in from a hours long trip from the Central California coast. My car was quit dirty and I asked where I could get it washed. The response, we will take care of it for you. Wow! They earn their five stars every day with each and every person who comes through their door.
We came on a Sunday for tea.
This is hands down the best place for tea with your friends. I love the area where we were seated. It was so classy and elegant. The staff was really kind and friendly. The green tea I ordered was delicious and the sandwiches and pastries were exquisite. They were very accommodating when I requested some modifications on my menu. I'm looking forward to coming back .

*As Event Venue The Peninsula Beverly Hills is 100% elegance and class. Such a joy to come here during the holiday season. The hotel is decorated beautifully. It's a wonderful upscale choice to have an event both large and small. Customer service here is always excellent. There are so many great dining choices here and each one is a first class experience. Great for a special occasion or celebration. They have a lovely tea room with fire places and a harpist. It's so warm and cozy. There is also quite a crowd at the dark wood paneled Club Bar which serves both food and drinks. It was named one of the Best Hotel Bars in 2019 by Forbes. Lastly, there's the lovely fine dining experience at the Belvedere a white table cloth establishment which serves European fare. The hotel offers valet parking. However, there is metered parking on the street as well. Forbes 2023 Verified as one of the finest properties in the world.
Customer focus?
I have stayed at this lovely hotel on numerous occasions over the past 2 decades. It is situated in a perfect location a 10/15 minute walk to rodeo drive. Rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. Their reservations agent Cristina is superb and a few other members of their staff. However, I felt a measure of indifference forthcoming from their front desk and concierge. There used to be a more inviting personalized warmth to their front office staff. Maybe there has been a change in top management that has led to this diminished customer focus. I think hotels in this $1,000 a night league should be very cognizant of falling into the inverse relationship trap where rates keep going up whilst customer service declines. I didn’t particularly care for the lack of attention to detail in the penchat service.

The Custodian in the morning 12/13/23 I believe he's a Filipino decent, he wasn't happy when you use the towels provided at the mens restroom in lobby to dry your hands, I guess it gives him such a unbearable work load to refill those? Enough for him to make a comment and counted that I used a couple of it and gave the dirty look
