The Paella Club Barcelona Reviews from The Last Year
Good way to spend the afternoon in Barcelona
Excellent way to spend 2 hours in Barcelona. We were greeted with a glass of Cava (Spains sparkling white wine). After washing our hands, we put on an apron and started cooking our Paella. All the ingredients were prepped so we just followed instructions on how to put them together. Our instructor was very personable and well organized. She played music and communicated well throughout the experience. We had a class of 16 with 2 per station so you end up with 8 paella dishes. The cooking took about 1-1/2 hours afterwards we enjoyed a seafood paella, mushroom truffle paella, squid paella, pork paella and chicken paella all cooked by the student chefs. Very tasty and the local wines were very good.
A delicious night of food and fun!
We spent 10 days in Spain and our cooking class with The Paella Club was one of the highlights of our trip. We planned this outing with our adult children and paired off to cook several varieties of paella. Great music, the hosts were so fun and engaging, and our cava glasses were never empty - we spent the night cooking, dancing, learning, and laughing. Ended the evening sampling everyone's dishes and chatting with folks from around the world. This class would be fun for families, couples, and anyone who enjoys good Spanish food!
Most fun we had in Barcelona
Was one of the best things we did on our trip to Barcelona. Very clean fun environment with a high energy staff to make sure that the group gets into the event. Learned how to make Paella four ways. 16 people in the class (2 per cooking station). I would highly recommend this to any couple, family or solo traveler. A must do event with this great team and business. Thank you Kevin and team.
Must do in Barcelona!!
This is an absolute must-do! So. Much. Fun. Drink wine. Dance. Drink more wine. Cook. Dance some more. Seriously one of the most memorable things we’ve done traveling. Catering mostly to Americans, Fernando, Kevin and Alessandra were the best hosts and chefs. Do this! You will enjoy the entire experience!
Fun and fruitful afternoon
What a great way to spend an afternoon. The chef was great and the group we were with all enjoyed themselves. Got to make and eat a decent meal as well as enjoy some Sangria
Delicious, Memorable Experience!
We could not have asked for a better, more memorable experience in Barcelona. The staff was so knowledgeable and welcoming and we had a great time making delicious paella. Plus, the freely flowing cava and lively music complemented the evening. Thank you all so much for an incredible evening!!!
Don’t miss this!
The experience was a food highlight of our trip. We were greeted by Alejandro, who was so passionate about music, wine and paellas! It was me & my husband and our two adult daughters. We instantly became friends with all the other guests, 17 in total. Two people per station making a paella, guided by the staff (nobody could go wrong). Vegetable, seafood, chicken and pork paellas were made while the cava flowed freely. Our glasses were never empty! Finally we sat and shared our paellas family style with our new friends. Before it was over we were singing and dancing all together, and ended up going out together after our experience. Highly recommend this paella cooking experience!
Outstanding!
This place is an absolute must when visiting Barcelona. My family (kids aged 14 &16) had the most amazing experience learning how to make Paella with Alex and team. We enjoyed this experience with 11 other strangers and came out of the night making many new friends! Its a combination of great music & great food. The chef (Alex) is so engaging that it is near impossible not to have a great time. No matter if you are a vegetarian or meat eater - they will accommodate all.
Highly recommend! Fun and tasty
amazing experience - Very fun and very tasty - Great team that always ensures fantastic atmosphere. Good cava, wine and food. All very well organised.
Hecho con amor!
We came to Barcelona to meet up with our daughter, who is studying in Madrid. We thought that this would be a unique and fun experience. Well, it surpassed our expectations!!! Rocío and her culinary crew were warm and welcoming from the minute they said “hola”, and the class was fun, engaging, and easy to follow…even if you never have lifted a cooking utensil!!! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was fun, and we had an instant connection with Rocío, and we fortunate enough to have the opportunity to chat with her. Everything the staff do here is done and made with love. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough!!! It was the #1 highlight for us!!!
Great time for everyone!
Our family (two daughters, ages 11 and 14) did the Appetizer session with the Paella Club and it was amazing! Def a highlight of our trip! The chefs and fun and engaging with everyone.
Paella Club Cooking Class
We had an amazing experience at the Paella Cub Appetizer tour. The chefs were fun, organized, experienced and guided us through every step. There were 8 people total on our night and we worked in teams of two to create four different Paella dishes. The shop is adorable and trendy with great music pumping throughout the whole evening. Cava was flowing freely and the lively environment made for a great night out meeting other travelers. After creating our masterpieces, we sat down to a community table to share chef created appetizers, our shared paella dishes, red or white wine and salted chocolate mousse for dessert. 5 stars and a must when visiting Barcelona!
Great way to spend an evening with a difference
A fantastic evening. The Paella Club ensures this was a fun enjoyable experience from the moment we walked through the door. Very knowledgable hosts who were able to share their product and cooking expertise, but this was more than just a cookery lesson, it was a Spanish experince with lots of fun and laughter. The paella's we cooked were delicious as were the other dishes served at the end of the cooking experience.
Don’t miss this
So much fun, we highly recommend doing this. Cooking was fun and easy, great food, wine and the whole experience was fun and lighthearted. Really enjoyed it!!!
Just do it!
Excellent instructors who make the experience fun and exciting! Cava, Paella and Music. 8 different Paella’s in all. Book it.
Best time ever! The Paella Club!
By far the highlight of our trip to Barcelona. We went as a family with our two college age sons and their friend. This experience with Alex and his team was so much fun, energetic, great music, amazing food, all the wine you can drink and we met others sharing the same. We did the 8pm session, then hit the bars afterwards with a bunch of others that we had just met. Highly recommend for all ages.
Fun, enlightening and completely delicious!
From the moment you walk in, there is an electric and fun vibe. The owner and chefs all love what they do and make it incredibly fun to learn the language of Paella! Don’t think twice- just book it!
Don't miss out
Alex and his crew where the highlight of our trip which is saying a lot as the whole experience in Barcelona was amazing. The energy was fantastic the Cava was awesome and the Paella was DELICIOUS. We bonded with complete strangers and gained new friend's. HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS EXPERIENCE!
Great experience in Barcelona
I highly recommend the Paella Experience! I was a solo traveler but was able to make great connections with the other attendees. The food and wine were wonderful, and the team at the Paella Club had great energy. 10/10 recommend!
SO Fun!
Husband and I went along with our daughter studying in Barcelona. Alex and his crew had a detailed and well oiled evening of wine and paella ready for us. The group that night was large, which meant a lot of paella varieties and meeting a lot of new friends. Our night was upbeat and fun, the wine was endless and paella delicious! Just go!
The visit to the Club was one of the top two highlights of
The visit to the Club was one of the top two highlights of my trip to Barcelona. It was a wonderfully engaging experience where 15 strangers felt like family and friends as we dined on our collective paella creations at the end of the cooking class. Our two chef teachers were lively and great instructors as they walked us through the entire experience, from frying the vegetables, to infusing the spices, meats and rices and cooking up a masterpiece (some may disagree but I'll pat my wife and I on the back for our collective pork paella creation). Each group of two made a different variation from seafood to vegetable to chicken, and in the end we sampled them all family dining style. They kept the music and cava going and pouring all night which enhanced the experience immensely. This is a must-do experience in Barcelona! It would have easily been 5-stars but for the fact that it was cold outside and instead of letting us in to sit in the waiting area as they prepped the stations for our experience, they made us wait outside by the door until the very minute the experience was scheduled to begin. We arrived 20 minutes early and within 10 minutes there were 6 people total shivering by the glass doors. They saw but didn't acknowledge us until they were ready to open the doors, check us in, and then allow us to sit in the waiting area until the others signed up arrived. The couple who waited with us were equally disappointed. I was prepared to give a very negative review but they made the experience so wonderful that by the end I was debating if it was 5 or 4 star worthy. So fair warning, do not arrive early unless you are willing and ready to wait in a narrow and slightly scary (after dark) alley until time to begin!

During our trip to Barcelona, we had the opportunity to
During our trip to Barcelona, we had the opportunity to join Alex at his Paella Club. Alex's inviting energy started at the door, and didn't stop until the event ended. It was an amazing experience with good food, and strangers who became friends over the course of three hours. If you are ever in Barcelona for a period of time, please sign-up for one of Alex's cooking experiences. You won't be disappointed.
This was our first time in Barcelona.
We did all the tourist things from La Familia Sangada to Park Guell to Bogatell Beach to the Arc Triomf. However, hands down, our favorite thing that we did while visiting was The Paella Club. My wife, son and I were three of the 13 in the class and it was a grand adventure in culinary delights. From the moment you walked in you felt welcome and engaged. Ethan and all the staff were great. The Cava was excellent, the wine superb but the Paella was unforgettable. We would have done it all again had we the time. Thank you again for an event we will never forget. Dave
During our stay in Barcelona, we booked a paella cooking
During our stay in Barcelona, we booked a paella cooking experience for my wife and I plus one other couple who were traveling with us. When we arrived a bit early, John greeted us at the door with his friendly and humorous demeanor. We were given a glass of wine, and asked to introduce ourselves to some of the other people who would be joining us on this experience. It was fantastic to meet couples from England, Australia, and other parts of the United States. Everyone was in a joyous mood, ready to tackle our cooking experience. Of course, the entire experience would not have been so much fun without the able and competent teaching provided by each of the three gentleman leading our experience. The occasion was filled with loads of humor, effective teaching, wine, and socializing with new friends. I cannot say enough about the effective presentation of each stage of the experience by our lead guide John. He and his colleagues (Melvin and Fernando) clearly enjoy their jobs and it shows. Once we sat down to consume the numerous paellas produced by each group of two people, we engaged in more socializing, humor, and discussion. Throughout the dinner, each host made sure we had an enjoyable and effective experience. Thanks much for making my evening memorable. If you come to Barcelona, be sure to go to The Paella Club - you will leave the experience feeling great (of course the wine helps), laughing, and enjoying your new numerous friends. These gentleman are an incredible asset to this business and I certainly hope the owners of this company realize that these colleagues are the source of their suceess!

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
