I haven't had the chance to explore many sushi spots in
I haven't had the chance to explore many sushi spots in DTSP, but this is one which I definitely plan on going back to again and again in the future. The food is so fresh and the ambiance is casual yet a little BOHO. They've even got a couple pool tables inside which gives me even more reason to go back. Our waitress was very nice, and we sat outside because it was a stunning evening for early March. Their cocktail list is extensive so it's hard to not find something you'd like. The menu variety in general was great so I can't wait to try more of what they have to offer. The check came out to be a *little* steep for 2 people, but I think it's worth it since it's such a cool spot.
Be the first to ReplyFood was good but certainly pricey.
The service was slow despite there not being much patrons in the establishment. Our server was often neglectful and was not super amicable. The water my lawn drink honestly tasted like straight cherry cough syrup. I think they should really reconsider revamping this cocktail. Ambiance was not super appealing for a sushi restaurant. I would not have expected it to look like it did and serve sushi at the same time. They definitely went for more of a beach bar vibe which does not match the price of the sushi rolls they were serving.
Be the first to ReplyGreat happy hour from 4-7 pm from M-F.
Great old-fashioneds and other drinks. Great ambiance and service! Wings were very yummy!
Be the first to ReplyThis place is so cool.
They have everything. Tots, taco bowls, sushi, pool tables, huge bar, patio seating and we love their happy hour. Tiki drinks and old fashioneds

Food is interesting and good- young crowd- has pool tables- loud atmosphere unless you are outside. Bustling most of the time- decent service.
Be the first to ReplyFood was excellent! Great location.
Waiter was new. Didn't know restaurant procedure when over charged for an item. Restroom was awkward. Long line to wait. Waiters using restroom to smoke or vape. Go figure. Despite these few disappointments, we would go back.
Be the first to ReplyI ordered take out.
Received a text letting me know that I would receive a confirmation email, which I did receive. On my way to pick up the order, I received a call saying that they aren't accepting pick up orders. Confusing. Because the website did accept, and accepting my credit card. And sent me a confirmation # via email. Not awesome. Never again.
Be the first to ReplyWTF is this place?!?! Menu seems all over the place and it
WTF is this place?!?! Menu seems all over the place and it is BUT.. they nail it!!! Oh my goodness this is smorgasbord of a menu that I've never seen nailed so effectively every time. Service is outstanding, just warm and hospitable servers and bartenders and an ambiance that makes you feel at home. LURE is a true anomaly and a much welcomed one at that. Rock on guys and thank you!!!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious unique food pairings.
Too many yummy choices for just one visit!! Would definitely recommend. Love the drink menu too!! Service was top notch.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for dinner with some friends.
We got seated at a booth so pretty lucky since it got really busy after. We loved the atmosphere but it can be a bit loud. I was very impressed with the waitress. She was able to memorize our orders even mine, which had customizations with it! I'm always impressed with those type of waiters and waitresses. Must have been at their jobs for a while or have an excellent memory because our order was large! The food comes out separately as it is made so not everyone will get their plates at once. I would say this is probably the biggest con as we were waiting for one person at our table to get his food which took a bit. We ordered the nachos to start and it was very good but definitely high caloric. Lots of cheese and meat. The beef tacos were amazing but so so greasy!! There were fat and oil oozing out of the taco shells - yikes! The sushi rolls were pretty solid, I must say. I was impressed. Not too much rice and ratio of rice to the substances inside was great! The speciality roll (Roll and Bake) was very unique and tasty. A little too much Mayo on top but was delicious. The eel roll was better. Simple but very good. Sushi tasted pretty fresh to me. Prices here are pretty expensive especially for the speciality rolls. I think the roll and bake was $19! Overall good dinner, good service. Love that you can bring dogs. I would come back for sure!

The Lava Drops are delicious!! We also ordered the Joey Meatballs and those too were amazing. I love the variety of the menu.

My friends from St Pete raves about this place and I was not impressed. We didn't have a reservation but we didn't have a big group and we were not in a rush. We put our name down to wait for dinner and gave them our cell phone number. We went across the street to a pub to wait and have a few beers. We waited 2 FULL HOURS!!!! We even went and checked mid way and there were still a couple people ahead of us and they quoted us 20 min. The 3rd time we went in to check, they realized they had written down our number wrong... I personally think It was bull and they just forgot us in the list or something. They had to clean off a table for us to sit. No one cleaned It off for another 7 minutes so we just sat down anyway.I ordered a glass of the house cab sav to drink and the waitress informed It they were out. She came back and said they actually found some, so I continued with my order. She then brings me a glass of white wine... I was so confused. I ordered a sushi roll and the duck pot stickers. The sushi was less than impressive and It was super pricey! The gyoza was dry and not very good. Overall, I wouldn't be back.
Be the first to ReplyIf I could leave zero stars I would.
I had such great expectations trying this place on date night. We started by ordering a Scorpion drink and when the waitress brought it over- spilled it all over the table. To our surprise she didn't apologize nor offer to leave napkins to clean it up. We ordered The Bob- which is NOT pan seared like described. It is fried. We also ordered Voodoo Chips- which was just a bowl of what tasted and looked like imitation crab with 6 small chips. Presentation for both apps were to be desired. After the disappointing apps- we thought it could be redeemed by trying other items. Boy were we wrong- both just as disappointing. I've had better sushi at a grocery store. Not to mention that we barely saw our waitress and had to ask a different waitress for chopsticks and soy sauce. Money wasted and left hungry. Best part of dinner? Leaving the restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyThis was my favorite place for sushi, however the last time
This was my favorite place for sushi, however the last time I was there it was the worst experience I had in a restaurant. My friend and I went to sit at the 2 empty spots at the bar, that means we saw two empty chairs and we just sat on them. Immediately the bar tender with more than annoyance directed herself towards me and said in a condescending tone "you can't sit at the service bar sweetie". My friend and I look at each other in disbelief since we haven't even said a word or place the chairs in the position they where, in which I had seen two people sitting previously when I first entered to the bathroom. The guys next to us offered to moved their chairs so we could move ours from the wrong position they were setup by whoever setup the bar. The next interaction was to snatch the menu of us without a word and giving us the dinner menu it was 3 o clock. We ask for a beer for my friend and I ordered a split of Prosecco and I ask for the lunch menu. She rudely comment that dinner started at 3pm. That is an odd decision on the restaurant side, however she could have explained this in a nicer way other than snatching the menu without a word or politely explaining it after I ask for it. When she came back with the drinks she place the bear and a white wine glass which I assumed was Prosecco and immediately walked away. Not to be a wine snob but there is a reason why we use a flute for this kind of beverage. When she finally came back we put our order and then I said I would like the split and flute please. She again responded rudely that they had neither as brushing me off. At this point I decided to go to the manager who told me they were out of splits that he could do nothing but apologize for her behavior. To which I reply so you are also out of flutes? He again apologized and said they were not and then he blamed the fact they were understaffed for the attitude of the bar tender. The entirely rest of the time we where waiting for our to go order I had to see the bartender with her sarcastic smile every time she pass by us, as I have come to find out she is also a manager and she clearly thought it was hilarious that I could even think that my valid complaint was going to go anywhere. The manager literally did nothing, so I guess she was right. I am a compassionate person and as I told the manager I work as a server for many years, I understand how busy can one get but that is never an excused to treat someone as less of a human. This needed to be addressed for the next reason which is why I also took a picture of her. I am very obviously Latina, the entire time she was speaking to us with disdain was directed towards me, even before I could say hi. She never once looked at my white friend when referring to us in a disrespectful manner. There is only one obvious reason why she would be pejorative when addressing me as soon as I sat. Please let me know when your restaurant becomes a racist-free zone again, I refuse to support any business that accepts this type of behavior and as the idealist I am I hope people that read this review stand up with me
Be the first to ReplySo I noticed that I hadn't did a new review for this place
So I noticed that I hadn't did a new review for this place in 5 years and I needed to update. Not that we haven't been here. In fact they were open for us when Irma came through and many were without power so this place will always be one of our favs. We decided to chill outside since it was great weather. Still a lot of our favorites on the menu but we looked for something new and different for us as well. Let's mix it up! We started with the Papa Sali roll. It was delicious! Loved the smoky dipping sauce with the hamachi and micro cilantro. Next we had The Barkley. Philly cheesesteak egg rolls were so good! The Mayo dipping sauce was perfect. you can't really go wrong with this one. Then we ordered the Aunt Kathy. Really nice. Very pesto forward. A little salt kicked it up. We weren't done yet! Ordered the The Bob. This is one of my favorites. Duck stuffed pot stickers with and amazing korean BBQ sauce. The finally Marley. Braised pork belly on wonton crisps topped with an apple chutney and a habanero honey drizzle. So many flavors going on here. Everything together as one bite is incredible.Overall still a great place and being a small plate place it makes for a good time getting to trying lots of different things. Their drink game is usually really good but this time I was a tad disappointed. I ordered a Jason's old fashioned. It can served without the rosemary/tangerine. It makes a difference. I mentioned it to the server but she said that it was the right drink. I still asked to have everything added that was on the menu. Other than that one drink everything was great.
Be the first to ReplyNice spot.
Decent happy hour. NGL...kinda seemed like they went weaker on the drinks and portions for happy hour. Regardless the food overall was pretty yummy. The Water My Lawn cocktail was *chefs kiss*. I'd stay away from the potstickers if I were you. Pretty bland. Service was attentive and helpful!

Good restaurant! We have been here multiple times and have been very pleased every time. The food is awesome and the cocktails are unique and tasty! If you are in St Pete take the time to stop in!

AMAZING! The variety and uniqueness of this menu is what really caught our eye and made us decide to go here! It did not disappoint, in fact it exceeded our expectations. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and prompt. She was ready to give us recommendations from each part of the menu and was accommodating with our large group. We split a bottle of wine, tapas and sushi! The sushi was the best part in my opinion. I would highly recommend their voodoo chips to start! Everything was absolutely delicious and the ambiance of the restaurant was great! The next time I visit Saint Petersburg, I'll definitely be back here!

I've been here twice and funny enough, the 2nd time we just walked in and didn't realized we have been here before. We been to St Pete a few times and there's so many wonderful places to eat. The Lure is differently a must to add to that list. They have such a wonderful happy hour that will keep you smiling all night long. You can blame the cocktails for that. They have a special happy hour menu and drink specials that keeps you ordering more. The atmosphere is fun and colorful. They do have a bar if that's what you prefer. The service is on point and helpful. They do seem to get pretty busy on the weekends. I would suggest to call ahead.
Be the first to ReplyThis review is for drinks only as we did not eat.
We stopped in for a Pitcher of Bloody Maria (yes not Mary, swap the vodka for tequila and you get Maria). It's not on the menu but they will make it for you. Perfect Sunday am beverage. The service was friendly. The inside decor is a bit of a hodgepodge and I was confused on the identity they were going for. One part pool hall, part bar/saloon, part sit down restaurant. We enjoyed our visit overall.

Food was pretty good, waitstaff and hostess were rude and dismissive. Also forgot one of our orders after being asked three times. Not worth the money or time
Be the first to ReplyThe Lure seems to be a pretty popular spot for DTSP.
I've been here a total of three different times with friends. In my opinion, it's not bad place to be, but I don't see the hype. It's a solid 3 star restaurant to me. The sushi here is very average. It's not the worst but also not nearly the best I've had. I think it's a great middle ground for those who want to try sushi but don't want anything too daring or authentic. The appetizers are very unique, bite sized, and photogenic. My favorite part about the menu will have to be the drinks. The "water my lawn" drink is punny and delicious- it tastes like a jolly rancher. Highly recommend it if you like watermelon and sweet cocktails. Overall, The Lure is not a place I would seek out to visit, but a place I don't mind coming back to.

Came in for sushi and eggs Benedict the hollandaise was on point ย that egg is way over would of told our server she disappeared during our app .sushi was very good ย (food runner and bartender were on point) come in for the sushi
Be the first to ReplyCool atmosphere.
Nice outside seating. Sweet server. Redfish and Caesar salad or both a little dry.
Be the first to ReplyStopped here for brunch.
We were planning on going to Bacon Bitch up the street, but they had a 2 hour wait. ย What a lucky find. ย Wait staff are fun and friendly, joining in with our silly mimosa and potato jokes always a good start. A huge shout-out to Helena, the perfect host.As for the food, I can't recommend the eggs Benedict crab cakes enough. Crab cakes were delicious, and the eggs and hollandaise source complemented them perfectly. ย As for the mimosas, they have the kind of wine orange juice mix we like! ย There's lots more to choose from on the menu, so hopefully, we'll get to come back here on our next trip to St Pete's!
