We really loved The Harwood Arms.
It is such a pleasure to have exceptional food in a casual, relaxed setting. The dining room is rustic and cozy. And even though The Harwood Arms is a pub, the service is top notch. The food is classic British cooking with a focus on game and wild meat. My favorite dish was the venison scotch egg with Oxford sauce. It was beautiful with a runny golden yolk. My only complaint is that it came out with instead of ahead of my starter as requested. The thyme flavored sauce on the rabbit lasagne was phenomenal. The Berkshire Fallow Deer was perfectly cooked and served with mushrooms and onions. They had dessert special, a date custard tart, that we were lucky to get. I also enjoyed their gin list and tried three different English gins, each one delicious. I highly recommend it.

We visited on Sunday for roast dinner - Oh my! Great location in quiet neighborhood. Old corner bar full of charm and friendly staff. We arrived without reservations and between meal rushes and after a drink at the bar we were seated. The Sunday roast is an event, served for two with plenty of everything. See picture. Great tasting food, gravy and veggies - haven't head a better Sunday roast. We were never rushed and felt like we were eating at a friend's home. Great meal and experience
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and a great environment.
We were lucky to get a table and it was an amazing experience. Highly recommend!

Dinner at Harwood Arms was absolutely exquisite from beginning to end. It's the only Michelin-starred pub in London, and although it's definitely a posh experience dining here, it doesn't feel stuffy or pretentious. It still has a level of comfort. The staff was attentive and patient. One member of our group got an important phone call from her son in the United States and had to step out to talk to him for a few minutes, and they gave us some space and never made us feel like we were wasting their time as they waited to take our orders. The food is absolutely fantastic. From the wonderful brown bread and perfectly creamy butter, to every other bite of food that graced our table. The onion tart was exceptional, the tomato was so perfectly balanced with the most adorable little croutons for texture, all of our main courses and especially the best potatoes ever, which were twice cooked, boiled and then fried in GARLIC BUTTER! They were so crispy and delicious. I couldn't get over it. Dessert too absolutely hit the mark. This meal was another one of those totally memorable, totally must bookmark this spot and return on any future visit to London because it was truly that good. It is worth going out of your way to eat here, trust me.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best restaurants I went to while in London.
There was 4 of us we all tried each other's food and I can tell you every single thing was amazing. It wasn't too rich or filling but just really good food. I loved the modern look of a pub style restaurant too. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone
Be the first to ReplyGreat atmosphere, fish and chips was fantastic .
Bar was an upbeat mix of all ages. Weight staff was very professional and friendly
Be the first to ReplyService was great! Seated promptly.
Food is cooked above restaurant and lowered in these dumb waiters. So cool! The venison was perfect. Didn't taste gamey at all! I didn't like the taste of a ground meat in my dish but it was okay. The beef short Rib was tender. Really loved the onion tart and Scotch egg. It was a great experience.
Be the first to ReplyI came here for dinner and absolutely loved it! The staff
I came here for dinner and absolutely loved it! The staff knew we were celebrating, so they gave us a card and an additional dessert. Those were very nice touches. It's nice that it's a prix fixe menu, so we were able to try every course. For my drink, I had the Kir Britannia, which was very good. For my starter, I had the seasonal vegetables, which came with smoked trout. It was absolutely beautiful to look at, and it was amazing! For my main, I had the fallow deer, which was also great! Our server gave us smashed potatoes with it, and they complemented each other nicely. For my dessert, I had the lemon thyme panna cotta, and it was so refreshing! We also had the apricot ice cream, and it was full of apricot flavor! Everything was outstanding, and I really recommend trying it out! The workers are really great, too!
Be the first to ReplyWe came for a late lunch with an absolute empty stomach but
We came for a late lunch with an absolute empty stomach but we were sooooo full we can barely fit in the dessert. £65 per person for a three course menu but a supplemental £7.50 for the sirloin. There's a special steak for a supplemental £12.50 but we thought might try their standard first. Alcohol is very high quality- I had the white wine (forgot which one but I always op for the second cheapest) and it was very very luxurious. My friend had the beer with champagne and it was very interesting in the best way. We chose the pate and onion tart for our starter. Very tasty - perhaps we are hungry - and we literally inhaled it. The deer - loved it as I'm a big fan of gamy stuff. It's on the salty side though so pair it with a potato is perfect. It was very yummy. Sirloin was very nice actually. I was so skeptical because steaks are very tricky but they did it beautifully. All the sides are great especially the giant crispy Yorkshire pudding but the only thing is they only gave us two strips of carrot :( By the time it's dessert, we are already so full that we debate about packing it to go. This says a lot because we usually try to finish our food. But god that was good. It was so good that even with a max out stomach, I still found it tasty. And I'm not a dessert person. The bill comes to around £180 with 3 drinks in total. Not cheap but the quality was definitely there. Never have I ever had such a posh pub meal before. Haha
Be the first to ReplyFood 6/10 Great meal, but it was just not the type of food
Food 6/10 Great meal, but it was just not the type of food I enjoy the most. Scottish venison eggs and onion tart were the highlights of my meal. It was overall quite a rich and hearty meal, with no breaks, as we started with the rich scotch eggs, had some complimentary rye bread with whipped butter (delicious and warm), and ended with deer, mushrooms, in a creamy and heavy sauce. My stomach was not at its best when we ended this meal, but I did enjoy getting a chance to try the flavors. Atmosphere 7/10 Very much a gastropub vibe. Dark wooden interior with fur decor (no clue if it's real or not). We were seated in a snug corner, vibes. Service 5/10 Even though we were seated at 8:30, we didn't get to our main until 10pm, so it was quite a delayed meal. Wish it was faster, they were not as attentive as I had hoped.

We visited the Harwood Arms a few years ago and at this is no different. Still the cozy but friendly atmosphere with good food.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding.
My girlfriend & I sought out restaurants with a Michelin star for our vacation, and Harwood Arms was one of the ones we selected. Of all the restaurants we chose for a vacation, Harwood Arms rose to the very top.- The decor.- The service.- The food.- The presentation.- The vibe.- The price.Everything was great. I would go back to the Harwood Arms without question. I was so enamored with my meal that I forgot to take any photos whatsoever, ergo my pictureless review.Just take my word for it. Go to the Harwood Arms and enjoy your experience.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic 3 course meal.
Some dishes we had: Smoked Eel Soup, Pumpkin Tart, Short Rib, Deer, Pineapple Upside Down Cake and Custard Flan
Be the first to ReplyMore of what I envision a pub in the northern hunting lands
More of what I envision a pub in the northern hunting lands to be rather than in central London pub with the game/meat centered menu and decor. Lovely atmosphere- rustic and unpretentious with food absolutely worthy of its Michelin Stars. The waitstaff was knowledgeable and friendly and spot on in their recommendations for food and wines to pair. If I lived in London this would absolutely be in the rotation, maybe quarterly given that I haven't won the lottery yet and still have to budget. But it's absolutely not out of reach for most.
Be the first to ReplyWe had a table booked for Sunday evening at 7:30pm.
My son was feeling under the weather so we repeatedly tried to call the restaurant on Sunday afternoon and left a message explain that we thought we would do the responsible thing and cancel. I left my phone number on their reservation system and asked the restaurant to confirm they received my phone call. A few minutes after our original reservation the Harwood called to ask if we were coming. Obviously, I explained our situation (again!) and said we thought that we should stay home as we did not wish to infect any other patrons of the restaurant. We were informed that the restaurant policy was to charge us £150 in spite of our attempts to call to cancel. In fact the person on the telephone suggested we should have left the sick person ( a child) at home and that the rest of us could or should have come to the restaurant to avoid the charge. This restaurant clearly puts profit over the health and well-being of their customers. We had a good meal here just one week ago but will never come again. The Harwood Arms puts profit above the health of their clients.
Be the first to ReplySix of us had dinner at the Harwood Arms.
Four had the trout which was excellent and two of us had the sirloin which was also great. It was served with bread before the main course and vegetables and potatoes with the meal. We also had dessert which I would also recommend. It was a lot of food and I think that we took a third of it home. The servers were attentive as was the host.
Be the first to ReplyGood gravy! (No, literally.
.. the gravy was good. But, also, good gravy, this place was amazing!) Not only was it an elevated Sunday roast, but they were able to accommodate most items for this gluten-free gal (including the gravy, if that wasn't clear yet). I left so full and so happy and haven't stopped talking about it since I got back to the States. People exit the room when I enter, for fear of hearing more about The Harwood Arms.
Be the first to ReplyEasily one of the best dining experiences ever.
We took the tube here through the rainy cold of London and walked about 1/2 a mile--did I mention that it was dark and rainy and cold? There are only 7 hours of daylight there this time of year and the sun goes down before 4 pm so we decided to come early and showed up about a half hour before the kitchen opened and our reservations. The place was cozy and warm, complete with a roaring fire in the hearth and bucks' heads adorning the walls. The meal itself was amazing. We had the Sunday roast that they brought out on a platter with enough food to feed a small village or our family of 3. It was loaded with crispy potatoes, which were about the size of small pillows, popovers that had roasted mushrooms inside and sweet roasted carrots . The roast sirloin was buttery and salty and just perfectly tender. Dessert was sticky toffee pudding and marmalade ice cream sandwich. The service was superb and attentive, with friendly waiters who chatted us up about their favorite place to visit in the US--why, San Francisco of course. It was a bit pricey, dinner for 3 comes to about 300$ but so worth every penny we spent. Thank you Harwood Arms for being such a big part of a memorable trip!
Be the first to ReplyThis definitely a great find.
In a residential neighborhood you would never think there was a restaurant there. Fantastic food. The deer was great. Any desert you get will be delicious. Very reasonably priced for a Michelin star restaurant. The Scottish egg was so good, I could have had three if they weren't so big. Incredible place. I would go monthly if I lived I london
Be the first to ReplyWe thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday roast at Hawksmoor Seven
We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday roast at Hawksmoor Seven Dials. There are innovative cocktails, an extensive wine list, and tasty desserts, not to mention tender beef surrounded by well-prepared vegetables and huge Yorkshire puddings. Our service was attentive and friendly. I'd strongly recommend booking a table if you're looking for a memorable meal.
Be the first to ReplyScottish Egg and Venison - Delicious Michelin starred pub
Scottish Egg and Venison - Delicious Michelin starred pub in Fulham LondonI took an Uber on a rainy Friday night through slow London traffic, and it was worth it to enjoy this place. It was packed, but bar seating was available where I received amazing service from Katy. She recommended that I start off with Scottish egg which I paired with a pint of Good Old Boy Beer. The soft boiled egg slowly oozed it's buttery yolk after I cut through the fried breaded coat and venison layer. The combination of all three layers was delicious- truly a must experience for this restaurant. For my main course, venison cooked medium rare with a small kettle filled with roasted potatoes with coarse salt. The venison plating was a work of art as the venison was framed by leaves of Brussels sprouts and creative preparations of different starches. Delicious, colorful, each bite amazing. I paired the meal with a glass or red wine. They have options from Australia, France, South Africa, and Italy. For dessert, the Medlar sticky pudding - similar to a Creme Brûlée which I paired with a glass port - perfect ending.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a great dining experience! Cozy pub vibe, excellent
What a great dining experience! Cozy pub vibe, excellent service and amazing food. An upscale take on British pub fare without being too fussy. The Scotch eggs deserve the hype. Crispy sweetbreads surprised and delighted even the finicky eaters among us. Quince tatin was our favorite dessert among the three we tried
Be the first to ReplyWas visiting some friends in London and I was keen to go to
Was visiting some friends in London and I was keen to go to a Michelin-starred tasting menu but my friend had his dog so I gave up the tasting menu idea and he decided to make us a reservation at the Harwood Arms. I am SO happy we compromised for this pub. Had a group of 6 of us and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. If you're a vegan with some omni friends, I highly recommend this place as everyone will leave happy. Don't rely on their website as it's not a good indicator of their vegan options but I assure you they have a whole vegan menu available (they can confirm via phone call). The atmosphere is wonderful and very cosy, they are dog friendly, have incredible wines, and the food was beyond delicious. The service was fantastic and if I'm ever in West London again I know I will be coming back here. We also stayed for probably 4 hours and did not feel the slightest bit rushed. Thank you!
