Enamored with Michelin status quo that tells a lot about The Emerald. Cocktail time with homies this is the place we watch the nights go by as we enjoy our martinis, palomas, and apple pie desert. Service keeps up with chic ambience. Upmarket price reflects esthetically pleasing to the senses. Appreciate every single time we come by here for a lovely night along with the great staff onsite. It speaks to the heart when comfortable meets high standard of service. We also get to watch 49ers on the screen. Entire facility is spotless and equitably right amount of decent crowd. A keeper.

Ambience was cool, food was good but very small, since its tapas style, prices were outrageous for cocktails. 20% auto gratuity charge is over the top. Service was pretty good although. Because of the prices I would not come back. Easy parking garage was nice also.

View local and a regular guest at T.E.H. I look forward to The Emerald Hour environment right after work on a Friday. It was 4pm and I loved having the bar to myself to read and relax. Anton (the mixologist) made me feel right at home. The Hendricks G&T with a lime wedge is simple and delicious. It's not on the menu but Anton agreed, just a few good ingredients is all that's needed for a delicious late afternoon libation. I highly recommend ordering 3-4 small plates and have them served all together. The scallops were scrumptious. It was a unique combo of 3 raw and 3 seared with light veggies and savory drizzle. About tipping: If you are annoyed by the 20% automatic tip applied to your bill, you have the option to decline that. Simply apply your own gratuity. Don't make a drama out of it. Just be fair. The menu will change next week. I'll be back with a smile on my face. Tell Anton, Marti sent you.
Be the first to ReplyEverything about this place is amazing.
The food, cocktails, service and ambience are brilliantly executed.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for the Janet concert.
And tbh, I was a bit disappointed. First the +, service was quick. The ambiance was nice. Second, food was average. We order the some appetizers and a the Crazy thing is the 20% gratuity was already added regardless of the number in your party. But, their was a sentence on the menu that said they "would gladly removed the 20% gratuity... Seriously? Anyway would I come here again... not sure...

Pros -convenience being located in the hotel Cons -even for pick up orders where you come down they automatically charge you a 20% gratuity which is ridiculous -pricey -lack of variety in the menu -burger was nothing special and chips that came with it tasted store bought
Be the first to ReplyEmerald Hour is a little pricier, but it is worth it.
The cocktails are amazing, and the food is equally delightful.
Be the first to ReplyThat was the best meal we have had in a long time.
Everything was absolutely delicious! I love the Paloma and we started with chicken manchego Croquetas and boiled potatoes with a lovely sauce. Both of those were insanely good. I got the pork shank and my husband got the scallops. Both dishes were wonderful and I can't wait to go back to taste other dishes.

This place is inside a hotel and the food portion is more like full meal not tarpans style. It's pricey though. A 20% gratitude also automatically add on the bill.

I chose The Emerald Hour for its poolside ambiance and extensive mocktail menu. It was a Saturday evening, and our party of 6 was seated right away at a hightop table near the bar. It took me a minute to figure out where the mocktails were, until I realized many of the cocktails could be made zero proof - love that! I chose the Not Another Tiki Cocktail and my friends got the Paloma. Both were delicious, but the Not Another Tiki Cocktail was just fantastic - fruity and refreshing, not too sweet. We also ordered a bunch of starters to share - the Galician Octopus (so tasty, great texture), Steak Tartare (my favorite, so unique and flavorful), Papas Arrugadas (pretty good, filling), Croquetas de Pollo (didn't try this one), and Shrimp Picante (probably the least impressive of the bunch but still tasty). Our server Jorge was helpful and attentive, and service was quick until our last round of drinks. We ordered the Coffee Martini (mocktail) to end the evening, which took a strangely long time to come out. However, it was delicious. My main issue with The Emerald Hour was that they charged full cocktail price for our zero proof drinks. I've never paid $18 for a drink with no alcohol, so the bill really caught us by surprise. Other than that, a lovely place!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing cocktails is a beautiful setting.
I really enjoyed my meal here. Note that a lot of people come here before concerts at Shoreline, so plan ahead!
Be the first to ReplyFood was good.
Service was below average. Venue was bad.The bar is the overflow when restaurant Bromo is full. Same Bromo restaurant menu, but in a bar setting. They'll serve you in the lobby too, with an industrial exposed concrete chic. I wasn't a fan. Lots of echo, lots of hotel foot traffic.// Appetizers+ House bread and olive oil, $8. Unusually good bread, served with flaked salt. Carby goodness. + Olives. Salty goodness- Risotto with pinenuts. You can get it with truffles shavings on top, at $4/gram. Not sure exactly how much a gram of truffle shavings is, but it covered the little bowl of risotto. It was kind of tasteless.// Mains+ Green Lentils and Spring Vegtables. Decent hunk of polenta, topped with nicely cooked veggies. The lentils were added as a second thought but weren't good as the veggies. + Salisbury Wagyu Burger. Yes, it was a burger. You could taste the Wagyu. And it had Salisbury meatloaf texture. Kind of strange combination. But what made it work was the gooey mushroom gravy and aoli. It was a messy meal, but worth the $22.// Service- Snobby. Wouldn't seat us despite empty tables. Had to sit in lobby. Where we underdressed? Service there was dismissive, and the guy look uninterested in talking us.- Knowledge. Couldn't answer our questions. Was fish sustainable? (It was not). We had to resort to yelp to get descriptions of items.- Accuracy. Ordered risotto with the truffle topping. It came out without truffles. I think it was intentional.I hate paying $20 tip for horrible service, but it was a date night and I didn't want to seem cheap. And I guess rude servers need to eat too.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing chocolate mousse cake dessert for $12.
Would definitely come back for this. Good texture mousse with a nice KitKat-like crust, some malt, light cream. Tequila and mezcal old fashion with chocolate mole bitters was good, but a bit pricey for $19. Couldn't really taste the mezcal smokeyness. I think this can be had for cheaper elsewhere.Pumpkin spice gin fizz was $20. I thought it lacked a bit of flavor but my girlfriend really liked it. Note it takes a little while to make (but it was forewarned on the menu). Note that a 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill. I do appreciate that this is called out multiple times on the menu and is explained that you are free to speak to the server to adjust it. However, I don't necessarily agree with a blanket 20% gratuity being applied to all bills by default. The service was at the level I would expect from any restaurant and was not bad, but I would not call it exceptional. A cool place to grab drinks with friends, nice ambience, not too loud. Would absolutely return for dessert!
Be the first to ReplyCocktails were crafted deliciously and very potent.
I think a lot of them are intended more for the sip and savor - take your time enjoy the conversations and live music. I drank mine a little too fast and hit me pretty good but no headache the next day.The servers were friendly - we sat in the lounge area next to the bar. I liked they gave us water without having to ask.The other stand out dish for me was the oyster Rockefeller. I've had many from different restaurants and I can say this was the most juicy and not overcooked/rubbery. The broth inside the shell was delectable too. I could have licked the shell clean.5/5 drinks4/5 for starters

I've been here a few times to settle during peak Bay Area Rush Hour 101 Traffic. The Emerald Hour is inside the Shashi Hotel. The vibes are great during the week, especially when there's live music.Never disappoints. First highlight are the bartenders who recognize you and recall your drinks. They may not know my name, but definitely know my face and drink - "Old Fashioned?" "Yes, please." These Bartenders are simply top notch. It's a show watching them craft and share their cocktail knowledge. The food is awesome. Wagyu Burger is my go to. I've tried a few dishes. Oyster Rockefeller. 3 Oysters, I'm not even an oyster person, but wow. 5 stars. They use a high end Spanish Ham, Iberico. 5 stars.28 Day Dry Aged Ribeye with the Horseradish creme friache. 5 stars.Sherry Braised Pork Shank. 5 stars.Prices are high but it makes sense for the quality ingredients. The food is Americana with a Spanish inspiration. Simply great food and service. You'll catch the Chef, who's earned a few Michelin Stars himself, walking around the tables saying hello to the customers and repeat guests. Great gem of a restaurant/bar.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful service and exquisite food.
Such a hidden gem... definitely finding every excuse to return again and again. The steak was like butter and everything else was superb too. We ate almost everything on the menu. The chocolate desert was a showstopper!
Be the first to ReplySmart cocktails with and indoor / outdoor concept.
They are definitely catering to a more affluent crowd but the service was very good and the drinks were creative and tasty. Cool points for the Star Wars Tiki cups.FYI: this is a hotel bar but you can come check it out even if you're not staying the night, also the sun stays out pretty late in the day but eventually gets covered by the building.

I was looking for a nice bar to meet up with a friend from out of town in MV. I definitely wanted to avoid Downtown MV on a Friday night so I found this place on Yelp. It's located in the Shashi Hotel. Parking was plentiful in the parking garage and it was a very nice space. There was indoor seating and part of the bar consists of an outside counter with chairs adjacent to a fenced off pool, decorated with string lights. Drinks were pretty good and they emphasize craft cocktails. I had 5 drinks while my friend had 2. Overall, I would return to this place because of the ambiance, good drinks, nice staff (Anthony and James were awesome). I'm not sure about the food, but they do serve $100 caviar if anyone is interested. LOL.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, good drinks.
I came here with a friend to celebrate my birthday. It is near Google, so I'm assuming it can get busy. When I arrived around 5:15pm, there were lots of empty tables and I found street parking right in front. Very cozy seating. It looks like they also have patio seating, but we sat inside. We ordered drinks and loaded up on appetizers so that we could try more items. The croquetas were delicious. Highly recommend the orange creamsicle fizz if you like gin fizz/egg white type drinks. Service was good and our waiter checked on us throughout our meal. It can be an intimate setting or casual setting. I am looking forward to coming back.

Job well done! Starting from the second we entered to the moment we left! We went for an early dinner and the dining area was not open yet. We had the pleasure to meet the chef and complement her heart felt quality dishes inspired and prepared by her! I look forward to coming back Oh nice
