The Dining Room at the Molly Pitcher Inn Red Bank Reviews from The Last Year
Steak, salmon, and tuna: overcooked, yet the “chef” was defiant, rude, and insulting.
Our Father’s Day celebration was ruined by a chef who overcooked the filet mignon, then made a half-hearted offer to get my wife a new one that would take 45 minutes and insisted that the waitress return to the table with the original dish to insultingly suggest that my wife eat the original $56 overcooked dish rather than wait for a new one. The chef then produced herself at the table to disingenuously argue that the dish was medium cooked after all and that it was the daylight from the large adjacent picture windows that somehow made the allegedly medium cooked dish appear to be brown to the eye instead of red. This episode of “Don’t believe what is in front of Your Eyes” was insulting beyond words. In addition, the chef similarly overcooked the salmon (medium instead of rare) and the tuna nicoise (well done instead of rare). The chef did not deny, when having been shown the remnants of the salmon and tuna, that they were overcooked but then proceeded to chastise the other member of my party and me for not having sent the plates back to be redone. At this point in the meal, the other guests were simply looking to leave with as little rancor as possible; the meal was already ruined beyond salvation. Considering the experience with the filet mignon, we had every reason to expect a similarly hostile response. And we got one anyway, much to our chagrin. The waitress did her level best to ameliorate the situation as it grew heated and credited our check for the three errant meals plus the subsequently ordered hamburger - we ordered as a replacement, figuring it would take less time to cook than another filet mignon (and which the chef similarly overcooked in any event). As for the chef, she has no business in the hospitality industry. What a disaster!
Neat old hotel with one major weakness.
The showers are awful. No pressure or temperature consistency. I was there for a wedding and asked others who were in our group staying there in different rooms and they had the same problem so it wasn't just me. If you can deal with quite possibly the worst shower of your life then this is a fine hotel. But if you want a good shower, this place is not worth the money.
Just don't go overpriced and food and rooms very bad

I have attended a handful of parties over the years at the Molly Pitcher. I have never stayed at the Hotel. The views of the Navesink River are breathtaking. The wedding ceremony was outside on the River, very lovely. The food is fine, cocktail hour was laid out beautifully and hand passed Hors d'oeuvres were very good. The ballroom was decorated nicely. Entrees were fine, nothing earth shattering. Bar service was excellent, great pours top shelf liquor. The table service felt very rushed, the moment you put your fork down a server was looking to clean the plates. All in all it's a nice location for a party.
The food is good, but pricey.
The service was absolutely terrible! Waitress acted like she was doing us a huge favor by taking care of us (and we dropped a lot of money there). Totally inattentive and downright rude. I would never go back and would not recommend it. Actually put a damper on what should have been a beautiful 85th birthday celebration for my mom. i honestly receive better service at Chick-Fil-A. Stay clear. They think they' are way better than they are.
Terrible Service
What a disappointment. Brunch Saturday for 7 people. Food ranged from good to very good. Service was horrible. Waited 30 minutes for 2 soup appetizers, another half hour for 6 of the main dishes (they apparently forgot to order one. That took another 10 minutes). The soups were excellent, as was the steak & eggs. Two lobster salad rolls seemed to "missing something" (lobster was OK). Fortunately, the company was great.

Came here for brunch this morning and everything was perfect! Sue was amazing! The food and mimosa was excellent! We will definitely be back!
Love the ambiance, historic looking and vintage.
Had the shrimp and broccoli cavatelli and it was fabulous with lots of chianti red wine, which was delicious. Will definitely come again.
This was a mistake review.
I meant to comment on the Molly Pitcher Restaurant in North Carolina. It is fantastic by the way!

I hosted a baby shower at the Molly Pitcher and highly recommend it as an all inclusive venue. From the start with event coordination to ensuring every detail on the day was handled, I could not be more pleased.
We have stayed at M.
P.I. twice, both times the room was clean and quiet. Reception is friendly and professional. We will continue to use M.P.I. when we go to concerts at The Count Bassiie Theater

Thanksgiving day brunch was absolutely amazing so many delicious delectable choices something for everyone! Multiple carving stations fresh delicious pastas amazing cheese selection it went on and on! Beautiful ambiance inside and outside we cannot wait to return for Easter!
Had a friend get together there were six of us.
The bill was $600 and two of us had soda the rest had a Bellini one had a club sandwich one had a hamburger. I had scallops 4 pieces $36 with french fries. We thought we would order the pot pies to take home for our spouses so four of us ordered them at $22 each when we got home there were two containers one was filled with the contents of what a chicken stew and one had a croissant type bun. One of the women had it spill all over in the bag that they gave us. I think that they should've explained that it was like a stew not really a pot pie in a crust so for $22 it was a total waste of money, and really not worth what we paid for brunch. We will not be back.

My daughter and son in law recently had a wedding at the Molly Pitcher. I cannot express enough what a great experience it was. The planning was easy, the room was a perfect size and I loved the cocktail hour and bar set up in the room next to the ballroom. Christian kept everything running smoothly and the staff was all so nice. It was great having the bar open after the reception for those that were not ready for the night to end. The rooms were comfortable and clean.I would highly recommend hosting your event at the Molly Pitcher Inn.

Breakfast: Eggs Benedict served on supermarket English muffins with weird, brightly acid and frankly awful hollandaise. Low grade ham. Dry, dense supermarket mini-croissant on the side. Supermarket reject unripe fruit so roughly cut I had to remove the brown outer bits before eating. Bizarre mix of cubed pineapple and melon: why? Nobody asking if I needed a refill on my coffee for an hour. Burnt-tasting coffee. Friendly but tired looking and overly casual staff with stained clothing. The only fresh thing on my plate was the potatoes, which were the only good things on the table. Whatever minimal expectations I had for this place were not met. They just don't seem to care. Nice view. Will not return unless they completely change their operation. It could be so much better.
