I'm a huge fan of steak house restaurants and I've been wanting to go to this restaurant for over two years. I don't live near the location, so when I finally had the chance to go I was so excited. We were a party of two on a Sunday evening. Firstly, I want to say the place is beautiful and the ambience is lovely. The restaurant was not crowded at all. It was actually pretty empty. There was no wait for our table. We sat in the back near the water. Service was decent. I was completely underwhelmed with my meal. I got an 8 oz filet and mashed potatoes as well as a cesar salad to start. My steak had no flavor, like zero...so I needed to add salt and it was marbled with fat which I'm not a fan off I am also a well done girly (I know, I know...lol) but my steak was defiantly medium well. Filet is my favorite cut of meat and I was disappointed. My potatoes were decent tasting, but had more lumps than I would have liked. Cesar salad was ordinary but a decent portion. Enough for two possibly even three people as a starter to share. My companion ordered the buffalo shrimp with the sauce on the side well done and steak fries. When the shrimp came out the sauce was on them and we had to send them back. When the new order came out the shrimp were not well done. The waiter apologized however, I was surprised no manager came over to offer an apology. With fine dining I would expect this. It wasn't a bad experience, we just have no desire to return.

The Chophouse offers an upscale dining experience with some hits and misses. While the portions are smaller, as expected from a fancy restaurant, not all dishes deliver in taste. The filet mignon was underwhelming, but the Atlantic halibut stole the show with its unique sauce, making it a standout recommendation. The steak did not come with any sides, while the halibut did. For those unfamiliar with this place, here are some things to keep in mind... The side dishes are a la carte, meaning you pay for them separately. So do not expect anything to come with your entree unless specified. Two, the restaurant enforces a casual business attire dress code. So save yourself the embarrassment and opt for a nice collared shirt and khakis instead of your tattered jeans and hoodie. They will appreciate it (and so will your date). And three, reservations are highly recommended. This place is trendy during peak hours, so pick a time (preferably right when they open) as you're more likely to get the table you desire. The ambiance, especially when seated by the window overlooking the lake at sunset, adds significant value to the dining experience. During quieter hours, such as early Sunday evening at about 4 pm, when we went, the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, allowing for a pleasant dining experience. The staff was great, from the hostess to our server, Ryan, who provided excellent service and was accommodating throughout the meal. We enjoyed the sherry-roasted mushrooms as a side dish and indulged in the lemon sorbet for dessert, rounding off the experience. Our total was around $120. So, while the overall cost was higher (or standard for a place like this), the combination of ambiance, service, and standout dishes makes this steakhouse worth considering for a special occasion or a peaceful evening meal.

Quite expensive and most sides are a up charge. This is one I would pass. Trendy place with a service that's less desirable. Save your money and get a nice meal at Charlie Brown's.

IYKYK Staff is amazing. Food is delicious. The ambience is great for a date night. We decided to go last minute so I was dressed very casually. I still felt comfortable and was treated like I had on black tie apparel.

I went to The ChopHouse on Saturday 2/17/24 for a Valentine's couples dinner. Well our experience was awful. From the buffalo fried shrimp that were undercooked to the soy chicken that did not look appeasing and was very very dry. We spoke with the waiter to send the food back. No manager came over to apologize or anything. The waiter was not attentive at all took a very long time to even order starters. I do not believe they deserve any stars. I will not be returning EVER.

Be the first to ReplyI have a lot of mixed thoughts about Chop House.
On one hand, the ambiance and service are excellent! However, the food was iffy at times, especially for someone with food allergies (much of this review will be written from the perspective of someone allergic to gluten). Our work place reserved the downstairs area for a Christmas party and it was beautifully decorated for the event. We enjoyed the open bar and appetizers. The drinks were well made and beautiful. However my first concern came when the menus were passed out. I had read the menu online ahead of time to ensure there was gluten free options and found many, but the party menu was a very reduced selection. This makes sense given the size of our group and time it would take to prepare food. I figured the restaurant could accommodate but the options were reduced portions and quality. The salad course was nothing amazing, but had good preparation. I had more issues with the main course. We were given a choice of beef, fish, or chicken; however the chicken was not gluten free. I don't eat red meat or fish so I had to talk to the server to arrange a way to have chicken. This ended up not being an issues thankfully. The chicken was prepared with a mild red sauce and topped with lobster; all of which was very nice. Finally, the dessert was very disappointing. The choices were cheesecake or chocolate cake. But for those with allergies, we could have berries with whipped cream. I tried asking the staff if the filling of the cheesecake was gluten free so I could eat it but they were evasive. I also asked if I could get some berries and cheesecake and was also denied. At this point, I was very frustrated. The people with food allergies couldn't have any of the appetizers and had to eat a modified salad. Then to top things off; our dessert was just berries. Yes, they were nice berries but I thought some more accommodations or selections could be made since our work place had called ahead about these allergies. While the food ended up being disappointing, I don't want to dock too many points. The waitstaff tried their best and managed to entertain a large and slightly rowdy group. The drinks were wonderful too. I know many of the others in my group thoroughly enjoyed their meals, however the issues with allergy friendly meals colored my thoughts.

Visited one of our favorite local places for a very high end meal again tonight. What can I say but another amazing experience. I just can't say enough about our favorite server Jennifer. She is just such a ray of sunshine and treats us so well which absolutely enhances the dining experience. Just a great person and they are very lucky to have her there. From our salads to cheesesteak eggrolls to shrimp cocktail to our steaks with Kona rub everything was on point as usual. And don't sleep on the crรจme brรปlรฉe because it is top notch. Great for celebrating special occasions or just having a great night out with someone special.
