The Bungalow Kitchen by Michael Mina Tiburon Reviews from The Last Year

The best part about our meal was our lovely server and the beautiful view. If you're going to go to a really really expensive dinner, you're going to want to expect the food to be amazing. Our food was way too salty. My husband ordered the burger and you had to pay extra for lettuce, tomato, and avocado. The burger is $29. I ordered the chicken and it was really salty and dry. I ordered the most basic drink. A tequila soda with the House tequila and it was $30. It was just way too overpriced for what we got. We don't mind going to expensive restaurants, but we expect the quality to match the price.

We loved the Sunset Sips menu at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed our wine, dinner, and dessert on the patio. My husband had the lamb shank and he said it was better than any Michelin starred restaurant in France! After dinner, we checked out the upstairs and it is dreamy! The views and atmosphere are amazing. Hoping we get invited to a party there so we can enjoy it with friends!
Great place in Tiburon.
We went to the bar upstairs and played pool. It has a great view and good service.

Let me first start off by saying I have never met a more fun enthusiastic bar crew EVER! Not only did they make us AMAZING drinks but they did it with such precision and pride! Shane, Josh, Josue, Kimia, and Miguel! To name each of them is the true testament to their amazing talent and service! Thank you all for making our trip memorable and thrilling! By far best bar!!!

The French fries were really tasty and crisp but unfortunately the wagu beef bacon burger was a bit too salty
The Best of Bay Brunches.
Do it or don't - if you don't it'll leave room for me (and other more worthy Sunday Brunchers) to enjoy this precious beautiful spot without waiting for the reservation. Start with the house made Bloody Mary (Kevin the super sweet waiter was right there to 'make things perfect.) A French Rose with Eggs Benedict and yes dessert. The entire establishment is a abundantly over staffed - what better way to relax and enjoy the day.
Seriously? $85.
00 for lobster pot pie Service great (other than being challenged on flat champagne-served in a wine glass) Salmon mushroom dish that was a gray pile Great view, beatiful restaurant.....eat some where else$$$$$$

What a delightful brunch we had ! Our server, Peter, was welcoming and wonderful and we had a fun banter with him the entire visit. We did the brunch prix fixe and added bottomless rose and it was so fun. The steak and eggs were great and the special the weekend we went was a pastrami hash. Not pictured but we loved were the Crispy Liberty Duck Wings with a Grand Marnier and pepper glaze. We dove in so no pictures but my friend ordered 2 more orders to take home ! The dining room is lovely but can be loud. We dined inside but if it were warmer I'd want to dine in the patio area. Will definitely go back !

Excellent food, low key and unfussy atmosphere, pretty deep bourbon selection. I'd go again.

First, we visited for my wife's birthday at our very local Bungalow Kitchen, which is 660 yards from our home per the pedometer, or exactly 1/2 a mile if driving. The atmosphere seems fun, and the view, which is hardly new to us because it's the same view as Guaymas had at the same spot for 30 years, is still great. And the staff is professional and courteous. But the food was flawed, surprisingly flawed for a Michael Mina venture. We ordered salads and drinks and two main courses, and were planning to order desert. The salads were fine and fresh as we expected (we had dined a number of times a Mina's Aqua on Post St San Francisco and the food was always terrific). But the main courses, on a Sunday evening, so possibly not the doing of the primary chef, were simply salt bombs. The signature Lobster Pot Pie ($85!) was borderline INEDIBLE because the internal sauce was more salty than the already somewhat salty crust, and then my wife kept running into clumps of additional salt in the sauce which truly ruined the pie! Also, the advertised half a lobster within the pie could hardly have been a smaller half. That poor lobster may have been on the verge of trying out for a coxswain position on the lobster collegiate crew, it was that small. At $85. I ordered the Waygu beef cheeseburger ($25). The idea was good, but again, with a salty though tasty bun and naturally salty cheese, the whole bunch of salt added to the beef itself was a true amateur chef's mistake. I had just completed a 35 mile bike ride and so craved some salt, but this was just too much salt. Now the purpose of such a review is to hopefully get a major improvement in salt apportionment (noting neither of us are on a sodium-restricted diet), so we can go back and not worry about the salt bombing. Because this seems, other than the main course preparation, an excellent place to dine. And one can always ADD salt themselves, but one can't remove it. We expressed our specific displeasure that evening with I think some humility, and the server, listening well, comped us by eliminating the cost of the burger and providing free desserts, which we otherwise would have ordered. She was a pro. And the desserts, which featured raspberry and creme fresh and apple respectively were very good, leaving us with a better feeling overall. Michael Mina and management: this is an easy problem to fix, but we note we are hesitant to come back down to street at this juncture because of it. Overall disappointing, considering the valuable human assets who serve there and the great view.

It was mine and my 3 girlfriends' first time here! The view was beautiful, service was wonderful, and everything was delicious. Special shoutout to Renato for making sure we were well taken care of, and Kevin our server who was on top of it. We can't wait to come back and dine again.

We were given a generous gift card and celebrated a late Valentine's Day here. When we walked in we were very pleased. It has a pleasant and welcoming private club vibe with a terrific playlist and attractive bar scene. It was dark and stormy so we were unable to appreciate what would be a great view. We didn't care. We got what looked like a great table with a comfy banquette on one side and an arm chair on the other. And then, we sat down. The banquette was considerably higher than the chair and quite firm with lots of good pillows that helped give my back the support I needed. However my husband's chair did not allow him to pull in close to the table and coupled with its lower height put him many feet away from me and we both had to continually lean forward or shout to communicate. Shouting was a bad idea and we spent our meal uncomfortably angled in for the duration. We ordered the tasting menu which provided us with a good variety of the full menu and included many of the things we would have gotten a la carte. And then, the food came. Three appetizers - of which the ahi tartare and the beef were bland beyond belief. It was as though they missed the seasoning station in the kitchen. The lobster on toast was more interesting but so over-seasoned the lobster flavor was smothered. It would have been just as good with a thawed prawn. We both thought the lobster risotto was delish and seasoned with a light nice seafood broth that let the lobster shine. But we were terribly disappointed with with our entrees. My husband's scallop cioppino had a light, very one dimensional broth, (different from the risotto) the two scallops were perfectly cooked and sweet, and the rest of shellfish was flavorless and lost in the soup. It was very disappointing. My petite filet and crab "Oscar" was not even cleverly "vintage". The steak had a great sear on it, but it was chewy, and not very flavorful. The sauce tasted like a bland bechamel and flavor of the crab was missing. There was also a small puddle of what I think was creamed spinach. Dessert was an attractive heart shaped confection. I wish they'd spent more more time on the cookery and less on texture and taste "surprises". On the other hand, the service staff was great. While not well trained on the food itself as they are at other fine dining establishments, they were very professional servers, several per table and pleasant. Which was a good thing, because this place is expensive. If we go back, which is doubtful, I would get the risotto and a salad, enjoy the view and get out of dodge! If you get to read this review, I encourage you to also view some of the 48 currently " unrecommended" reviews at the very bottom of the Yelp reviews for this restaurant.
Disappointing for a very expensive vegetarian meal.
I really wanted to like it, but the location is nice at least.
Service, environment, excellent.
Heirloom Carrot salad, watermelon salad, burger, gin, bourbon. Crispy jumbo shrimp, fish bao buns, pork chop dinner. Highly recommend.
My visit to this restaurant was a colossal letdown.
Waiting two hours for appetizers was beyond ridiculous, and the overall service was substandard. Despite the horrendous experience, we were still handed a bill, and the staff's feeble excuses only intensified the frustration. The sheer pain of hunger we endured, coupled with lackluster drinks, added insult to injury. This place is a clear contender for anyone looking to waste both time and money. The tension it created in our party was palpable, literally ruining what was meant to be a celebratory birthday dinner for a close friend. Standing outside in the cold would have been a more preferable option than subjecting ourselves to such a dismal dining experience. Save yourself the trouble - steer clear of this establishment.
Nice location/ambiance but overpriced, limited menu, scattered service
I really wanted to like this place as it's a nice spot and ambiance, but after eating dinner here twice, I won't go back. The food is way overpriced for what you get, the menu is limited with mostly heavy dishes, and the service is scattered, e.g., food comes before drinks
Overpriced poor service and average food.
The service was below average. We ordered drinks and then waited 15 minutes before the server returned to get our food orders. The server took our appetizer and main course order in order to “time each course effectively “. We received our appetizers in a timely manner. We then waited 40 minutes for the main course. The food was as marginal at best. We ordered fish - which was bland and Luke warm. We will not return to this restaurant.
The Best Restaurant and Dining Experience in Marin.
A fantastic dinner at what is likely the best restaurant in Marin. The rest is a little long and maybe hyperbolic. But earned. GM Brian greeted us at the door. (He’s a Mina Veteran, and it shows.) He was engaging and welcoming, and showed us to a wonderful table right on the edge of the downstairs deck. Beautiful view of Raccoon Straits, Angel Island, and the sun setting on downtown SF. Menus were classic rock album themed. I got The Rolling Stones “Let it Bleed.” Wife got Neil Young’s eponymous. Cocktail menu was Bob Marley “Uprising. Brian explained the conceit. I’m a HUGE classic rock-head, so I loved it. (Music in the space was all classic rock, and some good, deep stuff.) Our server was Peter. Warm, friendly, and knowledgeable without at all being over-bearing. We opted for the tasting menu with wine pairings. We were then introduced to Eric, the Sommelier. VERY knowledgeable, witty, and totally professional. The food was OUTSTANDING. 4 courses including dessert. 1st course was Mina’s famous Ahi Tartar and a Hamachi Crudo. Perfect, fresh, clean, with just a touch of spice/heat. Also Parker House roles with a whipped ricotta and local honey butter. AND then confit/flash fired Duck winglettes! The wine was a wonderful, 2010 Gran Cru Champage. 2nd course was a Black Truffle Cacio e Pepe Cavatelli pasta. So rich and warm and buttery. A perfect amount of Truffle, so the other flavors came through. The wine was Italian Valtellina Superiore. Deep dark, a little dry and the perfect counterpoint to the richness of the pasta. (A pasta with which I could eat myself into oblivion!) 3rd course was; for the wife the Phyllo-Crusted Petrale Sole, with horseradish potato purée, green beans, and a Meyer-Lemon caviar Sauce. For me it was the Oak-Grilled American Wagyu New York strip steak. A gorgeous piece of meat. I ordered it medium, but it came out looking a lot medium (very) rare. I was concerned I would be sending it back. But it ate with the perfect texture of medium with all the flavor one expects from a medium-rare/medium Wagyu. (Sous-Vide prior to the grill?). The wines on this course were quite interesting. Wife had a Vintage French white blend of Voigner, Chardonnay, and Chenin Blanc. Mine was a Red Blend from Lebanon, but vinted in the Bordeaux tradition. Both spectacular and thoughtfully paired. Eric described them perfectly and explained why they had been specifically chosen. Final course was dessert. An incredible chocolate mousse with toasted coconut, caramel, and fresh whipped cream. A perfect portion; rich, creamy, and mostly chocolate with the coconut being a perfect counterpoint and not at all overpowering. The wine was a 20 year vintage Ruby Port, aged to the point of Tawny highlights. At the end of the meal, my wife and I were totally, beautifully satisfied. The food was exceptional; refined and creative but not at all presumptuous. The wines were perfectly paired, and were a legitimately integral part of each course’s success. And the service. They say really good, well-timed service can make up for other faux pas and missteps. HAD there been ANY, the service would have more than made up for them. But there weren’t any. So the service was actually THAT GOOD. Thank you again Brian, Peter, and Eric (and the rest of the staff) for an exceptional experience.

Thank you for the question, if a seller is working on answering your bid, you cannot cancel it until their time is up and the bid is released back to you. The full amount of funds then go back into your AT account. Typically a seller has 48-72 hours to complete the bid.
