Tried Testaccio for a girls night and sat under the covered patio seating. Service was great, food came out fairly quick. Highly recommend the honey refresher cocktail and both the tuna carpaccio and the octopus (both amazing). Bonus - the entrance to Soif Wine Bar is from the covered patio at Testaccio.

Also the restaurant was really neat. Try out the speakeasy below
Be the first to ReplyOverall everything was good.
Was it incredibly amazing and spectacular? No. Was it good enough to go back again (and again)? Yes. Pizza was good, pasta was good (nothing with a tomato based sauce on the menu, only creams and cheeses), barata was okay, sides were good. Ambiance was nice, service was good.

I was surprised by how much we enjoyed the experience here! The food was great (the meat and cheese board was huge and so good!!) and the drinks were amazing. I thought the ambiance would be a little darker or more romantic but it's giving Italian countryside a little bit which was also cute. The service was great - the folks at the table we were supposed to get took a very long time to leave so they brought us champagne while we waited (about 20 min past reso time - didn't see this happen to anyone else) which honestly made the time pass quickly. I want to go back for brunch!

This place is a local gem every time we go they have new recipes with seasonal vegetables,so don't be afraid to go multiple times a year. They are dried meats, and cheese selection is also amazing. Besides that the pizzas with the warm honey on top are spectacular we've made a reservation only once, usually we go and sit at the bar right across their oven and just watch them cook it is truly impressive. Awesome cocktails and a good selection of wine as well .

Glad I made reservations because it filled up quickly & it's a relatively small spot for seating. Great service, knowledgeable staff about food & drinks (we were recommended a bottle of wine based on our preferences & it was delicious). Started out with the burrata, which wasn't anything to write home about but the pasta dishes we had were very good. Sorry I don't remember their names! Overall, Testaccio is very solid Italian spot to check out in a city quite saturated with similar options.

The staff and food were incredible! We loved the arancini, pappardelle all Ragú bianco, carbonara, and wild mushroom triangoli! We also loved the zeppoli and enjoyed the chocolate tart!

Came here with some girlfriends last weekend and got a few things to share - the vendure in crosta, Caesar salad, orecchiette di cacio e pepe, cauliflower, focaccia, and artichokes. Unfortunately, almost all of the dishes were too salty. The best dish was the vendure in crosta, which we ordered based on the recommendation of our server! Hearty flavors and the puff pastry was nice - almost like a pot pie. Focaccia was a little too toasted, a little tough, and the spread was very salty. Artichokes were the saltiest and my least favorite dish. The orecchiette was good and the pasta was cooked well, but the sauce was thin and didn't stick to the pasta well. Unfortunately won't be coming back.

Had a wonderful meal there last Thursday night for my wife's birthday. She's a vegetarian and there were plenty of options to satisfy her. The Nebbiolo wine we chose was perfect. The beet insalada, the verdura pastry and the Roman artichokes were all perfection. My bucatini carbonara and here mushroom triangles in brown butter were both wonderful. The desserts were less memorable but probably because we were getting pretty full by that point. Service was friendly and helpful as our server "coursed", or timed out our order for us pretty well and got one or two questions we had about spice combos answered by the kitchen staff. Just lovely.
Be the first to ReplyCocktails, food, service are spot on.
Cool funky place serving professionally inventive Roman Italian. Love the look of the place. The center room on Saturday night, Jan 21st, was outrageously loud. Ass hats that must have imagined they own the place were shouting at each other for more than an hour of our time there. Manager/owner (?) walked back and forth, and was afraid to ask them to be respectful of the others in the room. It would have been nice to point it out. It was the loudest restaurant I've been in in my entire life.

Testaccio was fantastic! The food was amazing and the service was great. Everyone was so nice and the pistachio gelato was the perfect ending to the meal.

Everything we tried was so delicious, especially the artichokes and all of the pastas (we tried them all). Can't wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyWe went there for a birthday dinner.
We got zero acknowledgment of our celebration and this was then accompanied by the server making an unnecessary joke, twice, about how my dad was the only one who ordered salad and didn't share. He said "oh you're not sharing? I have a single table for you in the back". And then later when he served entrees it went as "since you are obviously not sharing" bla bla bla. Very unprofessional
Be the first to ReplyVery good pasta, great atmosphere, and a friendly staff.
We tried a few different pastas and all were very good, perfectly cooked to al dente. The artichokes and potatoes were amazing and a must try. The artichokes come in a serving of three and our waiter asked if we would like to add on one more since we were a party of four. Of course we said yes, but these are the type of things that make a great dining experience. I would recommend this place to friends and family, and I would go back.
Be the first to ReplyWow everything on the menu is phenomenal.
Staff was absolutely amazing accommodating our group of 8. The restaurant is very cozy and intimate. The ambience was just another added bonus to our wonderful meal.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible food, awesome vibe.
They have an amazing wine list. Definitely get the porchetta. Perfect portion sizes. Will definitely come back.
Be the first to ReplyThis plaçe has a small area.
They have simple interior design. I can see a few tables and long chairs inside. They also have tables and chairs outside. Some parts have a big umbrella and some don't. It was too hot to eat outside when it was noon because you can feel too much exposure to the sun. If you have a car their parking is in front of their place where it's located on the street. When we talked about their food, they had a lot of dishes to choose from on their menu. They have different Italian pasta, pizza, salad, meat, chicken and many more. They also have refreshing drinks like juices, cocktails, wine, gin and many more. I'm not a regular customer here but I think all of their food tastes good. Since the last time I came here I have enjoyed their food very much. Come and try this place!
Be the first to ReplyHad the best time here.
Melanie is an incredible bartender. She served me a delicious off menu cocktail when I asked her to make me something interesting. Food is delicious as well. Will be coming back very soon!
Be the first to ReplyWe had several appetizers, entrees and cocktails.
Everything was delicious. Our server made a great rosé recommendation and was attentive despite it being very busy. Burrata and arancini are delicious and great to split between our 4 person party. We had carbonara, the wild boar pasta, pork belly and ribeye. Don't forget the focaccia!

We celebrated my partners birthday here on a Wednesday evening. We sat on the covered patio section and had a lovely time. We started with the chef choice charcuterie board and it blew us away. Both our pastas were fine but I would definitely go back for the meats, cheeses, and pickled things! Our waiter was super friendly and helpful picking out a wine for us and even brought over a small crumbled dessert for my partners birthday.
Be the first to ReplyCharming atmosphere and delicious food.
We dined here for dinner a few weeks ago and had the most enjoyable experience. The service was great and knowledgable and I loved the decor. Everything we tried was so good. I would highly recommend the two pastas, the bucatini and the mezze maniche con gamberi. I cannot wait to return :)

This small corner restaurant in Logan Square packs a wallop with its short but sweet Italian bistro menu! The popularity of Testaccio speaks volumes on what your about to experience once you secure a table here. First off, it's curated menu really knuckles down to the basics in Italian cooking. Our Fritto Misto was this fantastic fried calamari starter with amble dipping sauce that was uncomplicated yet really delicious. The fish carpaccio was this simple recipe using really top notch ingredients that made this dish soar. We ordered two of these beauties and woofed them both down.Their Risotto was this velvety rich rice that was cooked perfectly; and getting rice this perfect is harder than getting a PhD. in Astro Physics. The flavors just danced on your palette. My Orecchiette Di Cacio E Pepe is this peasant dish Testaccio made into Michlen ready fare. It just knocked me out. They elevated this pasta to a whole new level. It rivaled Lilia's in Brooklyn that owns this dish. The bar makes a serious Negroni and a wicked gin Martini (I had two).Parking is difficult. No way to get around this issue. But a decent walk shouldn't deter you from enjoying this exceptional restaurant.

This is the second time my husband and I have been there this month and we just love it. We sit at the bar and watch the food being made (fascinating, honestly). The service is impeccable- I meant to shout out the manager and my waiter but can't remember their names (arg) - we were the really fabulous looking old people at 6:30 on Saturday, hahaha - you all are doing a great job. The menu is gorgeous- I would eat almost anything on it, but we keep ordering the salumi and cheese, and the portion sizes are so generous that we get full from just that and their incredible bread. I love the atmosphere, the music, the two separate rooms with really different vibes, the staff, the food... next time (like as soon as I can get there again) I'll try and branch out and report back.

I tried the "Orecchiette di Cacio e Pepe" and "Mezze Maniche al Sugo di Manzo." They were delicious. We placed the order with our waiter at 7:26 pm. The food arrived, and we finished eating the food by 7:44 pm. We couldn't believe it happened so quickly. As an Italian restaurant, I was surprised we weren't served any free bread though. I think the food portion is small, but I'll still come back!
Be the first to ReplyFavorite Italian restaurant in the city.
We have ordered take out and eaten in the restaurant. Great atmosphere. Wonderful staff. Very kid friendly for our 1 year old. Our server had excellent recommendations on the wine list. The chefs meat and cheese plate was spectacular. The servings of meat were generous and sliced so thin they melt in your mouth. The fritto misto was excellent. Rivals the seafood cones I have had in Cinque Terre. Loved the carbonara and the ox tail pastas. Have had several of their pizzas and while all are fantastic the Nduja sausage is my favorite.
