Excellent spicy Sichuan grilled fish
This is a Sichuan style grilled fish restaurant that has many outlets in Singapore. They have many types of fish such as limbo fish (1100g), Qingjiang fish(1250g), Limbo fish fillet(800g) and sea bass fish(900g). Qingjiang fish has a firmer texture while limbo fish is more tender. We ordered the one with green pepper which is endorsed by food connoisseur Cai Lan. There are various options of additional ingredient . The tofu was a nice add on. The overall flavour is exquisite and very well balanced, with a complex savoury base with spicy & numbing top note. For dessert, we like the fried rice cake with brown sugar topping. We enjoyed the meal very much & would definitely return.

Seeing a decent review from local food bloggers, and thinking since there wasn't a queue at an odd hour, we decided to dine in. Smacking $59.88 for a limbo fish cooked in green peppercorn soup base, we were expecting fresh, juicy fish with crispy grilled skin. Soup was overwhelmingly salty. The fish meat tasted "bicarbonated" and this limbo fish I would never have it again, given a choice. Comparing $27 from WTF(ish) fresh seabass, I would have at any time, if u catch my drift. A whopping $110 meal for two, which left us unsatisfied. Nonetheless, service was good. Giant Squid is recommended, and side dishes were more pleasing to the palette than the main dish. And for that, I rate this two stars; service, side dishes. ✌️

Ordered the sour veg fish fillet which came with potato slices and black fungus. Appetizing. Also ordered the steamed scallops which was okay in terms of taste but quite pricey IMO. Tried their 夫妻肺片 (sichun cold dish of thin sliced beef and offals). A bit too spicy for local taste bud, manager was sharing that today’s the first day they are offering this dish.

Good deal from @tanyu_sg to share! Dine-in 𝙀𝙭𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙇𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙝 𝙎𝙚𝙩 𝙈𝙚𝙖𝙡 available on weekdays from 11:30am to 4:30pm made it even more affordable with 5 different flavours to choose from. Each set comes with a rice and a soft drink of your choice at only $19.90++! To complete the meal, simply add-on $2.90 to enjoy with refreshing Cucumber with Minced Garlic or Mixed Beancurd Sticks. Soup was packed with punch and enjoyable numbness. Limbo Fillet was really jumbo & fresh and paired well with long cabbage and beancurd skin. So satisfying as usual. 🥢𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙮 𝘿𝙧𝙮 𝙋𝙤𝙩 𝙁𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙩 香辣无刺干锅鱼:🆕️ Convenient to eat as the fillet was deboned. The fish fillet came in substantial pieces which were deepfried with a good crisp on the outside. Super enjoyable with spicy sauce coated generously on the exterior which gave the ultimate numbness & spicy satisfaction. Good wokhei too! This is my new found love item at @tanyu_sg . 🥢𝙈𝙞𝙭𝙚𝙙 𝘽𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙙 𝙎𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙨 巧拌腐竹 Delicious meal!

We ordered garlic fish, it was good, but quite hot. Cucumbers with garlic salad was fantastic! Service was ok, reservation is needed

Hostess was not approachable and unfriendly. Seek her assistance to provide an estimated waiting time but was brushed off & told that it will be a long wait as there are 4 guests in queue before me. Food was rather salty and overpriced. Overall, this place is overhyped and I will not return.

It’s a crave satisfied all the way from China especially if you’re a pepper spice lover or what we call in Singapore, Mala- Mala! The signature dishes are super spicy and draped in chillies and peppers. Perfect for Instagram! We had the red chilli and green chilli styles and they were hot and good! Go there and be ready to burn! Price: it all adds up!

A wonderful find in Singapore. Part of a China restaurant chain. Whilst the Spore outlet is twice the cost in China. It continues to be good value for money. One fish for four people with many side dishes , cost S$120. Reasonable pricing. Tan Yu was the only restaurant with a queue as compared to the rest of the restaurants in the mall. Popular with youngsters. Tasty food and recommended for repeat visits. Attentive and professional wait staff.

Great restaurant and great food. We tried two types of fish and both were great. The sauce was amazing and the toppings were as delicious. I recommend for everyone who is visiting #Orchard Road to go down and visit this place and taste the food
