Wow. I'm not usually one to spend $200 per person on a meal, but when one of my best friend's came into town and requested good sushi, I found this place on Yelp. They offer an Omakase course for $145, and the experience was excellent. You do not have to do the omakase course though, and they do have an extensive a la carte menu. They have two dinner seatings: one at 5:30PM and the other at 7:30. It's a small, simple restaurant, and everyone who dines at 5:30 does have to leave by 7:30. One of the reasons I chose this spot, is I love having wine with my meals, and not that many Japanese spots offer wine! They had white wine, as well as numerous sake options. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and introduced each of the courses to us. I liked that there were warm dishes throughout the course including a deliciously juicy black cod, along with a soup at the end. Usually when we go out for simple nigiri/chirashi, I don't necessarily like every fish, every sushi presented in omakase was just amazing. The fish was so fresh and tender. The chef lightly flavors everything for you, so you're not given any additives to season yourself. Every bite was exquisite. I wanted to get a whole tray of every fish. The only dish I didn't care for was the sea snail appetizer, mainly since it was firm in texture. It's described with fancy words that we had no idea what we were eating, until I asked during the last bite haha We ended the meal with desserts, black sesame ice cream and Hojicha Panna Cotta which were both super creamy. (not included in Omakase). My husband asked if the Omakase was enough food, and I'd say that without the dessert I wouldn't have been full, but satisfied enough from the array of flavors. Overall, great experience.
