AMBIANCE Cozy, urban-rustic setting with an open-concept kitchen and dining area. SERVICE Staff are friendly, helpful, and good with sales as they try to get you to purchase their small plates off their cart of tray: this creates a lively and communal atmosphere. FOOD 5/5 steamed egg tofu, pickled honshimeji & garlic-chile oil: cold, delicate, silky, smooth, tons of yummy umami flavor. Outrageously good, ordered twice. 5/5 smoked trout-allium chip'n' dip: smoky, creamy, rich and savory heaven 5/5 broccoli: delicate, smoky with a creamy heat 4.5/5 CA state bird with provisions wolfe ranch quail from brent: half order which includes 2 legs and wings, spiced and fried crispy - lots of bones 4.5/5 red trout toasted hazelnut & mandarin-garum vinaigrette: crispy seared fish in a pond of tangy umami fish sauce vinaigrette 4/5 sourdough-sauerkraut pecorino & ricotta pancakes: like a green onion pancake 4/5 hog island oyster, kohlrabi kraut & sesame: briny oyster topped with tangy fermented shredded kohlrabi 4/5 duck liver mousse & almond financiers: rich and creamy duck liver whipped to mousse perfection that's paired with bite sized French tea cakes that are subtlety sweet and nutty 3/5 wedge salad, walnut blue cheese ranch & deglet noor dates: fresh lettuce, wish there was more blue cheese PARKING Metered street spaces PS This dining experience holds a special place in my heart.
