We came here for a birthday and overall, i would come back to try more. The place itself is nice and gives cozy/romantic/easy vibes but can use some renovations and updates. The lighting can be uped a bit, i think, but overall i liked it. The service was hands down fantastic. The staff is attentive and is always ready to give recommendations, answer questions, and fill up your water. They are prompt and just always ready to help. The food was the deciding factor for me and it came at a solid 3.75 between all of us. Starting with the naming of the plates; the names are the ingredients which is nice but also was too long that the menu was a bit confusing. And here it goes for the plates: 1) JAPANESE MILK BREAD - delicious. The butter is on the spicy side but no one had complains about this. Would ahppily take another round of it any day. 2) OXTAIL HUMMUS - that was probably the 2nd weakest plate we tried. The oxtail was completely lost in the humus and i felt like it was a waste to add it there. The roasted chickpeas, however, were a great addition and added to the crunch. My least favorite part in this plate was actually the naan. That was pita bread with some garlic sauce on top. Interesting plate but not great execution. 3) BRAISED RABBIT - that was delicious. Everything is in that plate was perfection for us. Without contender, this was our best bite of the day. The rabbit was cooked just right that no gaminess was to be found and then all the sauces were on point. 4) OCTOPUS SUKIYAKI - our second favorite plate of the day. Again, cooked really well and the man the sauce was delicious. Really hoping they used low sodium soy sauce as it was a very heavy soy-sauce-based sauce but no regrets. 5) BLACK PEPPER & HONEY PORK SECRETO - i was ok with this plate. The sauce is SPICY so be warned but my disappointment comes from the pork which was a little over cooked and sad. But the sweet potato that it comes with is on point 6) FIRE ROASTED LUMINA FARMS LAMB RACK - that was the weakest plate for sure. I love lamb and was looking forward to this but it really disappointed. The lamb was not cooked right and the sauce was just not the right combo (or it was missing something, i just couldn't tell). Also, the lamb comes on the heavy blue side which is ok for me but not a favorite with lambs. 7) WOOD GRILLED BROCOLLINI - surprisingly delicious. For desserts we had: 1) HONEY TOAST - yeah, it is delicious. Perfectly crispy and sweet. The ice cream on top was served just at the right temp so it was a perfect addition. Then the mango was sweet and just right. 2) CHOCOLATE GANACHE TORTE - while it was a delicious it was definitely not a ganache or a torte. This was a chocolate cake. Which is great, just not what you expect. The pistachio ice cream, however, was to die for. 3) They surprised us with a sundae which was also delicious and very sweet. We loved it. Overall, this is a place i'd visit again to try other plates but maybe twice is as much as i'd go back to it.
Be the first to ReplyWe must've came on an off night on Wed, 3/13.
The experience almost felt like they were still in the soft opening phase. We had a reservation for 7:30pm and waited a good 25 min to be seated. Granted the place isn't big and they were very busy. After we sat down, we perused the menu and ordered our food (Japanese milk bread, beef tartare, octopus, lamb chop, monkfish) and one drink that me + the bf planned to share (Hot Scotty). We got our 2 appetizers and was more than half way thru before someone came to tell us they ran out of the whiskey that is used in the Hot Scotty so we had to pick something else. We asked if there were any other whiskey substitutes and the waiter had to go and inquire. Turned out it wouldn't taste the same (although it was our first time trying it anyway). We then ordered 2 glasses of wine. About 2 dishes into the entrees, I got up to use the restroom. After I returned, I saw a lady with an entree on our table in which I realized my bf was saying we didn't order. They just put down a sea bass dish that they thought they had explained was the substitute for the monkfish we ordered (we never got that note from anyone). Our waitress then came and said the monkfish is usually reserved for people who ordered the tasting menu but neglected to tell us ahead of time. It was just a weird experience to be handed a dish that we didn't order that they thought we understood. Lastly when we got the bill to pay, the Hot Scotty was still on the bill After all that, I thought we would at least get a corrected bill. Overall, I'd say the food was overall good (minus the lamb chops that were way too fatty) hence I'm giving them 2 stars but it was very much a disappointing experience for our first time there.

Bad Decision: Over priced, undered sized, extremely long wait! Not worth it at all! So many better places to choose from in Vegas

Food is AMAZING! Bartenders & Staff double Amazing! Thank you Ashley for recommending very smooth Bordeaux (even though I am a cab girl) that paired perfectly with dinner. No disapointments !
Be the first to ReplyExcellent restaurant in Chinatown.
Modern American fusion type cuisine. Cocktails were all good. We tasted multiple dishes. The not-so-good dish was the duck filling "banh cuon". The wrapping was too thick and the filling was bland and too little. No complaints about other dishes.

A James Beard nominee chef, Bryan ,a spectacular front of house run by John. Every dish, drink, dessert tastes like the staff loves this place. And they all do. You will too.
Be the first to ReplyService was incredibly slow.
Plan on two and a half hours for dinner. Portions small. Dessert was fabulous but the rest of the meal was very average.
Be the first to ReplyFood, Service & Ambiance were amazing.
I was skeptical going to eat off the strip but am going to try it every time. Here's what we got: Hamachi - only thing we didn't like Beet Salad - super fresh Beef Tartare - the best I've ever had, we actually ordered a second after our main course I stead of dessert Lamb Rack - delish
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food and drinks! A foodies dream.
Drinks were delish also and our waitress was super nice and really knew her menu. Ask about the chef and the name. Great back story.

My family and I have been wanting to try this place for years now, always put it off due to cost but we had a special occasion so finally gave in. The atmosphere is nice, dark and moody which I don't mind. Service was slow but waitress was informative and kind. Unfortunately the food was...awful, truly the worst meal Ive have had in a long time. We were all just gagging things down at one point and couldn't even finish our last two dishes (which were supposed the be the best ones) Our steak was cold, rabbit was dry, oysters were really overly briny, yuzu butter just tasted like paprika spiced butter...we spent a lot of money on this meal and it was so sad that every dish was a disappointment. I do hope they focus more of quality of their dishes in the future because it is a nice place but as someone who doesn't get too many chances to eat this way it definitely was unfortunate to waste it on this meal.

Epic meal at S&W - my second time dining at this off strip gem and it was superb. The crudo w/lemon dashi was light and refreshing, the oxtail hummus and charred broccolini was so spectacular (both served w naan), the carrots n curry (also tasty). Ambiance and service bar side was a dream. Bartenders are so knowledgeable and cool. Vino by the glass options were amazing (Pinot and Carmenere winners) - super lively and fun vibe. Most definitely the best way to spend your last dinner in Vegas. You'll win big dining at Sparrow + Wolf - a nite I'll never forget that's for sure!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and excellent service.
Staff was very attentive and friendly and the food was delicious. Highly recommend.

I will definitely make a stop here every time I'm in Vegas. Love, love, love it!

This is a unique gem away from the hustle and bustle of the Strip. You can't see into the windows from the outside but when you enter, it's a different world and they do a good job with the murals and decor to transform for a charming experience with this place. The menu is not expansive but all dishes are very special. Compliments to the chef on flavor pop and highlighting each ingredient. Each dish had very unique flavor profiles that you would not have tasted before and it all comes together in a robust way. Sort of like a craft cocktail mixed by really artsy mixologists and you can taste layers of smokey, sweet, brightness, and decadence all in the same bite.Dishes we liked best: - Pork tenderloin and foie gras (special that day)- Broccolini- Japanese honey toast with miso cream and applesThe other items we ordered had interesting flavors too, but these were enjoyed most by everyone at our table. Cocktails were good too, on the mellow side, probably to balance out the bold flavors of the food. The orange creamsicle mock tail was the best ever. Our server was great. He took a lot of time to chat with us and be part of the dining experience. The timing of a couple of the dishes and sequencing was a little off, which was surprising given it wasn't too busy that night. And dinner took longer than expected, but again, this is sort of an experience place so if you are looking for a quick meal, find go to burger on the menu, and for staff to leave you alone, this probably isn't the place. Been meaning to try this place for quite some firm. Glad we finally did. Was a great experience and memorable meal.
Be the first to ReplyYes! Just come.
My massage therapist at the Bellagio told me about this local foodie spot, I'm thankful she spilled the beans. Brian, the chef was great he came over and checked on us. Their version of the whiskey sour was something I'll be dreaming about until my next Vegas trip. The hummus was insane, the fish melted in your mouth, the beet salad made me feel better about myself. Just come.

You wont be disappointed i say this based on multiple visits.Cool drinks, cozy interior, good for hanging out with friends or a cool dinner with the girls. Staff is knowledgeable, professional and gives off michelin star vibes.Do it!
Be the first to ReplySecond time eating here and definitely will not be the last.
What an incredibly delicious foodie experience with all the right notes. Everything we ordered was perfectly prepared with the right amount of all the good stuff. My pal Dina and I really enjoyed every single bite, and the cocktails, wine, and service, oh boy. This is a foodie's dream. With confidence, I know each of the ingredients was selected with care and that it's made by passionate chefs who share my love of food. Pretty sure I'm making this place a regular thing each and every time I return to Vegas, because wowie, it's truly that good.
Be the first to ReplyWow didn't imagine how wonderful Sparrow and Wolf is.
We almost didn't even get to make it to the restaurant. Our friend was coming down with something. So, I called in to cancel the reservation. Please keep in mind also they have a strict cancellation policy, which is understandable. They told us they can cancelled but we will be charged $25 per person. So, we went ahead and went to the restaurant to see if we really need to cancel, we will because she wasn't really up to it. The Manager was very accommodating and told us that if she isn't really feeling well, we can go, we decided to sit down and just have a drink and see how the night will take us and if she will feel better. So we only ordered drinks and appetizers. After she tried a few items, I guess magically the food did some work, she felt so much better. We ended up staying and ordered alot more food. It was excpetionally great food. I highly recommend giving Sparrow and Wolf a try if you are in town. Excellent service as well. I hope I can return next time and try their desserts.

My wife and I visited Sparrow + Wolf while visiting Las Vegas from Austin. It is an 8 minute drive from the strip and located near China Town. Based on reviews we decided to give it a try, and it did not disappoint. It is a shared plates concept, and each portion would serve 3 to 4 persons. With just the two of us we ordered 6 items. We should have had 5, but would have still not been able to finish each dish.Rose was our server, and she did an awesome job of guiding us with our selections and was very knowledgeable about the menu. She suggested that 5 plates would be enough, but we went with six because it was hard to decide. We started with the olives which were served warm with marcona almonds and miso butter. Really awesome. Second we had the oxtail hummus with naan. Again, really good. I had the beef tartare, which is favorite of mine as I grew up eating this with family. Did not disappoint. Grilled carrots in a curry sauce was also really good, and had pickled carrot slices to give some acidity to balance the flavor. Pork shoulder with foie grae was also really good, but maybe an acquired taste for some. Finally we had shrimp agnolotti in a miso brown butter sauce. This was so good, I could have had another order for dessert.Ambiance is upscale casual, not too large of a space, probably seats about 50.If you live in Vegas, your lucky.
Be the first to ReplyMy first time at Sparrow and Wolf with a party of 14 people
My first time at Sparrow and Wolf with a party of 14 people for dinner time. I'm happy that we were able to all sit long-wise and in this place. The server was able to set up our table as very similar sharing meals for three different groups. Some had allergy restrictions so they would substitute things for other things. Which was nice and all the food mostly came out at similar times which was nice. So our server suggested a family style where each part of the three groups would share the dishes. This was the easiest and also it was a no-brainer since it was all our first time and we could try different dishes. The place was also pretty busy but it still felt quite personal which was good. Each dish felt so unique that everyone loved and enjoyed it. They also serve different alcoholic drinks that had different flavors and also some that have a little bird on top of the drink. It was pretty cute.
Be the first to ReplyReservation at 9:30.
Did not seat us until 9:55. Then waited another 5 minutes and no waiter came. The best part: no apology, no free drink/appetizer. One final note: the restaurant smells awful of wood. Most places that have this concept don't smell, but the setting is confined/low ceilings.

American cuisine evolution.Exceptional service.Daughter planned wedding for Feb. 2021, but covid and the authoritarian state of Hawaii had other plans. So quick trip to Vegas, marriage in the dry lake bed with friends and family, then dinner for 11 here. What a fabulous choice. I think we had everything on the menu + specials and many cocktails. Absolutely everything was delicious. We could not have made a better choice. Final bill + tips was over $1400 and worth every penny. Trip to Vegas to eat here coming soon.

Be the first to ReplyThis place is a hidden gem off the strip.
Small dining area, with a 6-8 seat bar, but we'll worth the cab ride if you're staying in the area. The bartenders are all world class- seriously. They will converse about all of your favorite liquors and drinks, and create a personalized cocktail based on your conversation. I had the best tequila old fashioned I've ever had in my life here, just after a 5 minute chat with our bartender. The rest of the group also ordered the same for their second round, it was THAT good. After trying everyone else's drink here, it's safe to say there is no bad option at the bar. We tried every main dish and appetizer they offered- a true menu sampling for our 6 party group. The pork, octopus, noodle dishes were all 10/10. The hummus was also phenomenal and many of the dishes we ordered were brought out as double sans meat for our vegetarian guests. Fantastic service at the table, all dishes were served hot and evenly spaced out. This was truly the most memorable night of our trip, and I only wish I knew of this place on my many trips to Vegas in the past. An absolute must try. Cheers

Beyond amazing experience! We went with a group of 11 for our friend's B-day/vegas trip. The restaurant itself is cute and has a nice vibe, but where it excels is the service, food, and drinks most importantly.Service 5/5Our waitress, Olivia, was one of the best parts of the meal. She was cracking jokes, vibing, and honestly felt like one of our friends. She had great recommendations from drinks to food. She was quick, diligent, and overall just made it feel like despite the elevated food, it was approachable. There's nothing else to say about her except one of the best waitresses we've ever had.Drinks 5/5All the drinks were amazing. They make all their ingredients to-order and in house I believe. They all had interesting flavors and great cohesion. Again, Olivia was able to recommend something for anyone no matter what the taste preference was. The presentation was also super cute which is important!Food 5/5I mean there's too much to say. We all shared a bunch of smaller plates and all got our own entrees. They were all great, nothing was bad. I'd say standouts were the special honeycomb board, the sweet potatoes, the lamb, the octopus & the bread! You won't regret getting anything here.In conclusion, this was a scary meal for some of my friends. We don't have the most elevated palettes and this menu can look intimidating. I'm telling you, don't be nervous. This restaurant will take care of you 100% and you will leave trying things you've never had, and loving them.
