Not the best steakhouse and not the worse.
Inside portions of filet were medium, but outer cuts were medium well. Lobster tail was dry. Truffle fries were crispy and really good. My friend's salmon was very dry. The baby iceberg salad was good. When the highlights are fries and a wedge of lettuce, that's not great!

Took my mum here for her birthday and asked for a seat by the balcony to see the gondola rides per our reservation notes. We came early so they said no to the requested seating which was okay but when we were seated there were five open tables where we requested that weren't filled until about an hour later, if at all, but I moved on from that nonetheless. The other parts are not okay in my book. The waiter took my mom's wine glass when she still had more than half left without saying anything. He just ran off with it so we ordered another since he took a nearly full beverage without asking. Unacceptable. He then charged for two items we did not request including an "on the house" birthday cake. Inappropriate behavior to rack up two unrequested menu items. Lastly our tomato and onion salad had no onions on it and when asked about it they said it's fine the way it is. Very put off by this restaurant now. It has certainly gone downhill.

There are so many steak house in Vegas! We try to eat at a different one when we come to check them out . We order the crab cake for appetizer , shared the bone in rib eye, whipped potatoes and mushrooms. The crab cake was a bit different then what were expected - it was like a scoop of warm tuna. It tasted fine had crab flavor but mushy and a bit strange. The Rib eye was Cooked to the correct temp med rare, but was a bit chewy. The best items were the whipped potatoes and mushrooms and of course the chocolate cake. It's a bit noisy ... it over looks the canal and the noise travels up. Plus the conversations in the restaurant. Service was good . Attentive but not over bearing . I don't think we will do back.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food and service.
Loved the upstairs table and atmosphere. I would definitely go back for more!

Great filet but terrible side dishes. Caesar salad was un-inspiringly. Waiter hovered too much. Ruth's Chris sets the standard.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and great bar service.
Very welcoming to bartop walkins, and offered the full menu service even seated at the bar. The main bar tender was awesome - made a couple of classic cocktails to perfection. We opted for a selection of different appetizers, thinking it would be better for bar seating to enjoy a succession of different sharing plates, but the food ended up all arriving at the same time so it was a bit crowded and difficult to eat. Nevertheless, the food was spectacular (especially the Angry Shrimp served on perfect mashed potato). We enjoyed the more casual atmosphere at the bar and would recommend and return.

Steaks were fabulous. We had 4 different sides to share that we would order again. The staff was friendly and nice. Made sure drinks were at least 1/2 full
Be the first to ReplyThey had a great burger.
Lots of top shelf bourbons. Service was great. The place was very nice.
Be the first to ReplyI enjoyed my time here.
The food was good. I would say it was comparable to most high end steakhouses on the strip. Part of the appeal was the tomahawks preparation at the table. The mashed potatoes were rich which of course are delicious. But if you drench anything in butter and oil it generally tastes pretty darn good. The service was decent and the atmosphere was a bit "Vegas" feeling compared to other S&W locations. All in all it was a pleasant and delicious experience. Go if you like steak and a lot of it with delicious sides. It's pricey and I think that you have a lot of options in restaurants for that price point, but the place is worth visiting once. If you are there for a more romantic experience ask the staff to seat you in a more intimate area with a more private atmosphere. Not towards the front of the restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best steakhouses in Las Vegas.
The bone on ribeye was absolutely fantastic. Make sure you ask for Matty little quick P he is a world-class server and will take excellent care of you. A good.
Be the first to ReplyMy all time favorite steakhouse in Las Vegas.
The meats are sourced from snake river farms. Quality is unmatched, and service is exceptional. If you have not tried them out, you're missing out.

This was one of my favorite meals when I was in Vegas! We had a big group reservation for a company dinner and the service and food was incredible. The tomahawk steak was cooked perfectly and was so delicious that I had refrain myself from eating the entire portion since I was sharing it. Their desserts are also absolutely delicious as well and that's coming from someone who doesn't like sweet things! I would definitely come back the next time I'm in Vegas.
Be the first to ReplyVisited for a late night meal and sat at the bar.
Started with clam chowder on the bartender's recommendation. Main was filet mignon rare with bearnaise and mushrooms. They put in a half order of shrooms and I still got a heaping plate. Everything was perfectly cooked, incredibly delicious. The Parker House rolls are THE BEST. The Irish bartender, I think his name was Ronan, was so friendly and charming. It was delicious food and a great experience.

First of Joseph, who looked after our table was amazing! I would give him 10 stars if I could!Starters were delicious, the carpaccio would be something I would recommend to anyone who mentions wanting to visit this restaurant!Drinks were great and well balanced. The tomahawk which some of our party had was impressive and the potatoes coming with the tomahawk are Now the reason this didn't get a 5 star rating. Sadly my wagyu steak came out of the kitchen cold, again nothing the front house did wrong, Joseph was very apologetic about this situation and saw to that I got a new steak but it resulted in the rest of our table finishing their meal before I received my main which just is not what you want when going for a nice meal.
Be the first to ReplyWe have been to the original in New York years ago.
Stumbled on this location in the Venetian. Don't throw money at the waygu as American is not nearly the great taste of Japanese. Regardless, their regular cuts are the best we've had since Japan! Great food, drinks and service!
Be the first to ReplyGreat steakhouse with awesome choices of cuts.
The swinging Wagyu was a great choice and the sides were perfectly cooked We did not partake in dessert but what we saw other tables have were huge chocolate cakes fit to serve 4! Price and service appropriate for the setting
Be the first to ReplyThings to consider when you come to S&W.
Although the food is good the ambience of the restaurant and the approach to service isn't about delivering great experience to equal the quality of the food and the amount you pay. They utilize plastic gray utility cards with plywood tops for their presentation of food table side - the parquet floor and the weight of the carts don't mix. Everytime a cart is out on the floor it's a constant rumble and noise. Do not be seated in the booth or tables near the kitchen service - constant carts and chatter from wait service - and talk about feeling like someone is always watching and looking at your table. We had 5:00 reservations so early on a Sunday - and the food didn't come out graciously timed so you had time to enjoy the meal - it was more like we have to turn the table. They never got busy the time we were there. We had gone for a birthday and didn't ask for anything special - we had ordered a second round of drinks and were finishing our meals - and had asked for the dessert menus and the waiter was like well I'm bringing you dessert to share. And we told him we'd like to review what was available for dessert anyway - and the response was "oh I guess I should cancel what I was about to bring out then"..... the service and ambience is not one of a high end steak house - you'll be better off going to any other steakhouse if you want both great food, ambience and service - Cleaver - Herb and Rye - Capital Grill - Harlows - just to name a few and there are many more.
Be the first to ReplyI was disappointed with the food taste and quality.
I expect at a steakhouse to a flavorful perfectly cooked steak. What we got was 3 filets over cooked and burnt for Medium cook level. The Mac and cheese noodles were over cooked the Brussels sprouts were undercooked and the sea bass was unseasoned. The service was ok but the server forgot 2 of the sides we ordered. There are far better places for the prices Smith & Wollensky charge. I was hoping for better but it just wasn't a great meal for a steakhouse.
Be the first to ReplyExcelente! Great food, good ambiance.
Waiter was outstanding, would repeat again. Steak was cooked to perfection
Be the first to ReplyI had the wagyu flat iron frittes.
The steak was cooked perfectly and was very high quality and tender. Flat iron is not usually my go to but this one was phenomenal. Very juicy and tender with no chewy toughness. The frittes were perfectly crunchy and salty. I ate at the bar and the bartender was extremely knowledgeable on the menu and helped answer any questions I had. They also cook their standard steaks in beef tallow and the wagyu steaks in butter/bone marrow. This tastes so much better than the standard oil most places use so I would give them 6 starts if I could for this.
Be the first to ReplySo, I'm going to be blunt and direct.
I have had the opportunity to eat at amazing Steakhouses over the years: Peter Lugar's, Sparks, Ruth Chris, KC prime, Lawry's Steakhouse in Chicago, and the list goes on.....Bar none- the swinging Tomahawk American Waygu is the best steak I have ever eaten. Amazing flavor, tender, and perfectly prepared. Just out of this world. Best restaurant that we ate it in Las Vegas. Angry Shrimp was also really good and unique and the Shrimp Cocktail and side lobster tails were also very good. Cookie dessert was spot on.Also need to mention service was on point but we did request a slower service and it was a bit faster than we wanted...
Be the first to ReplyGreat steak and seafood spot at the Venetian.
Hope you're lucky e ought to have Katherine from Montreal serve you. Passionate about the food, and just a genuinely good person! If you're hungry order the Angry Shrimp and Hanging American Wagyu Tomahawk. You'll be full and very content (fair warning, have a minimum of 2 grown adults ready to consume quite a pile of protein). Bon appetit!

If you've ever been to the original NYC location the you know this place is fantastic. The food and service were top notch. We got the scallop and bone marrow appetizer, filet lobster Oscar, a Gorgonzola crusted filet, a side of mashed potatoes, and brussel sprouts with bacon lardons. We finished the meal with espressos and cheesecake. They have quite an extensive wine list and delicious cocktails. If you're looking for an upscale steakhouse experience, check this place out!
